Quarantine Binge
Since corn-teen has began everyone has been binging shows and movies on Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, etc trying to remain sane and have some semblance of normalcy. Since I am working from home as a college professor and have been since Spring Break mid-March, I have been binging show after show, movie after movie, so you could say I am some what of an expert.
With that being said, in no particular order, here are the my favorite shows & movies that I have watched so far during the corona-tine.
TV Shows
1. Tiger King (Netflix) ABSOLUTE MAYHEM & INSANITY. MUST WATCH. CAROLE DID IT.
2. Outer Banks (Netflix) The Goonies but with murder & cute boys. Pogues for life!!
3. Waco (Netflix) Branch Davidians & Texas. That is all you need there.
4. The Last Kingdom (Netflix) Vikings. Blood. LOTS OF WAR. Historical-ish.
5. A Discovery of Witches (Prime Video via Sundance Now) Witches. Vampires. But like for adults. Based off a book series of the same name.
6. Veep (Hulu via HBO) Jolly Green Jizz Face. The insults are EVERYTHING.
7. Outlander (Hulu via Starz) Scotland, sexy times, accents & cute boys. That is all you need.
8. What We Do in the Shadows (FX on Hulu) Reality Vampires.
9.Seinfeld (Hulu) The show about nothing. But it one of the best shows ever created.
10. Whose Line Is It Anyway (CW Seed app on Roku) Drew Carey. Ryan Stiles. Colin Mochrie. Wayne Brady. Sketch comedy at its absolute finest.
11. Love Island UK (Hulu) Like the Bachelor but BETTER and BRITISH!
12. Vanderpump Rules (Bravo) Season 1 Stassi is the best Stassi.
13. Schitt’s Creek (Pop) EW DAVID. Moira Rose is QWEEN. Riches to rags.
14. Lucifer (Netflix) The King of Hell as a LAPD consultant. What a concept.
15. Letterkenny (Hulu) There are 5000 people in Letterkenny. These are their problems. Canadian hicks, skids and natives.
Movies:
I haven’t watched as many due to work and binging the hell out of these tv shows but the ones I have watched and recommend are:
1. Logan Lucky (Prime) Redneck Oceans 11. Daniel Craig gives us a master class in acting.
2. The Saint (Netflix) Val Kilmer. Elizabeth Shue. 1997 action/adventure movie. Val is a master of disguise and thief.
3. Happiness Continues: A Jonas Brothers Concert Film (Prime Video) I am a sucker for the Jo Bros baby.
4. Pride and Prejudice (Hulu) Kiera Knightly version is my favorite BUT literally any version is just as spectacular. When you are in the mood for love and a Jane Austen heroine.
5. Tremors (Netflix) All 6 of them! Underground Man-Eating Worms. Oh and *whispers* Ass-Blasters
6. Knives Out (Rent-able on Prime or any other app) Clue-esque Who Dunn-it movie. Another Daniel Craig masterpiece.
7. Bert Kreischer: Hey Big Boy (Netflix) Shirtless Comedian. Absolute bear. (Also watch Secret Time & The Machine)
8. Angel Has Fallen (Netflix) 3rd installment of the series. Gerard Butler yet again has to save the president But THIS TIME...himself as well. WOAH.
9. Emma (Rent-able on Prime & other streaming apps) Retelling of the romantic comedy novel by Jane Austen. I loved this version just as much as the other 3 including the Gwyneth Paltrow & the couple BBC mini-series ones.
10. The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia (Prime) If you have ever been to West Virginia before than you know. #Accurate.
Well there you have it. My entire list of binge-worthy shows and the random variety of movies I have watched during Quarantine 2020. And if my boss is reading this, than YES did actually grade and do some work before each binge. I promise! Hope this helps you get through this unprecedented time and soon enough we will be back to watching sports and drinking seltzers at bars with our friends again. Until then, wash those hands friends!
