Hammond Report July 21 2020 From Pandemic Quarantino Jon Hammond - daily Music and Stories from organist & accordionist Jon Hammond, today's story about 'miracle gig' returning to the Birdland Hamburg after 7 years, I got there real early when the owner Hr. Dieter Reichert opened up. When I set up my organ, to my horror my EXP-100A Expression Pedal was not working, yikes, essential component of Hammond organ for expression! I tried everything with the cable and resetting organ, nothing worked. Showtime was 21:00 (9PM) the doors open up and everybody files in - full club. Bingo! the pedal started working, and worked throughout the rest of the night. After that it never worked again - the expression pedal was dead ever after this gig - beautiful tenor playing from my greatly missed friend Lutz Büchner, with Heinz Lichius drums, Ed Harris guitar and yours truly Jon Hammond at the XB-2 Hammond organ "BBQ Lily" one of my originals.I'll be back with another Hammond Report tomorrow folks on 22nd of July!
