FALL. Always and forever, fall.
Let’s break it down:
Spring is pretty, there’s no denying that. The botanical gardens are at their best and you get so much pastel clothing in the shops. And I love my pastels (as I, um, window shop Modcloth and Unique Vintage right now...yes...window shop...). You also get pretty desserts that, when executed well, look like they belong on an episode of The Great British Bake-Off. However, Spring also brings along my only allergies: tree pollen and Claritin, used to treat the tree pollen allergy. I can use other allergy meds, but for a good 2-3 weeks my car is covered in green/yellow powder and I can’t breath through my nose. I at least get one of my favorite conventions during this season (usually).
Summer’s only pro is that it has my birthday and, in most situations, has some great convention and cosplay coverage. Otherwise, summer is the absolute worst: hotter than insert-proper-comparison here, so many bugs, Fourth of July, and expectations to go camping or to the beach. I, for one, do not like camping or the beach. I also don’t like oppressive heat or sunburns, or even just tanning intentionally in general. It’s horrible for my skin. Summer is undeniably the worst and I stay inside until it passes. Right around the end of October or so (after starting at the end of March/early April).
Winter, in theory, should be nice. Baked goods aplenty, presents, Hallmark holiday movies, parties, incredible coat fashion, party attire! But when it’s cold (note: cold is anything below 60 F for me. Hot is anything above 80 F. I’m picky), all I want to do is stay indoors in thick sweaters or fleece pajamas and binge watch my various streaming platforms until the weather sucks less. I’d like snow if my area of the world knew how to handle it better. Same can be said for ice.
So, it’s Fall as the winner! Fall has: pumpkin (spice lattes, spice tea, bread, muffins, bagels, cereal, spice, carving, picking, pie. It is all good. Yes I’ll be basic in my love for pumpkin), horror movies on various networks and streaming services, apple picking, cozy, haunted houses, literally the best season to experience all of my favorite places, local Highland Games, local costume parades, candy, and the one time a year no one gives me crap about cosplaying but instead wants to borrow my outfits for parties/costume contest/you name it. It’s fun letting them down with “You can’t afford my rental fees should anything happen to it.”
Fall is the best. The only problem is that there aren’t enough weekends to fit in everything I want to do. Especially if things get rained out.

The Dos and Don’ts of Partying at Wineries, According to People Who Work There
With their picturesque grounds and national proliferation — according to some estimates, there are more than 10,000 wineries in the United States, up 50 percent from 2009 — wineries have become popular venues for weddings, birthdays, reunions, bachelor and bachelorette parties, and other celebrations. The phenomenon has become so enormous that wine regions like Napa are cracking down on and even prohibiting large group events.
So let’s say you find a tasting room that does accept groups or host parties. How do you know what to do and avoid at your event?
Here, tasting room directors and other wine professionals share nine tips for partying (respectfully) in the tasting room.
The Dos of Celebrating at a Winery
Talk to the Winery Ahead of Time
It may sound like common sense, but even if your party is small, don’t show up unannounced when celebrating an event. After all, no one likes to be blindsided.
“For any type of event, we recommend confirming all of the details well in advance,” Jennifer Hulan, owner of Water’s Edge Winery & Bistro – Denver, says. “Determining the proper headcount is [hugely important.] The goal is to create a nice experience and having all of the information is an easy way to host a successful event.”
A winery can better prepare and create a custom experience for your celebration if they know you’re coming ahead of time. And some wineries even require a reservation — no matter the size of your group.
Let Them Know if You’re Running Behind Schedule
Tell the winery if you’re going to be late, especially if you’re planning on making multiple stops in one day.
“It’s not unusual that guests will run into an issue now and then that puts them behind schedule,” says David Griffiths, Cakebread Cellars consumer hospitality director. “In instances where you’re running a little behind, one of the best things you can do is to call the wineries you’ll be visiting to make them aware that you’re running late. Many small group experiences — like the ones we do here at Cakebread Cellars — operate on a pretty punctual timeline, and it can be hard to get a late arrival caught up with the rest of the group. If we know you’re running late, it gives us the opportunity to look at options so we can find the best solution.”
Know Your Limits
Winery staffers cannot emphasize this one enough. Yes, there’s alcohol everywhere, but the objective is not to get drunk. Drink plenty of water while tasting and remember that spitting and dumping are highly encouraged.
“If you’re unsure whether it’s rude to spit wine you don’t want to consume for any number of reasons, such as wanting to pace yourself in tasting many varietals, or simply because you don’t particularly care for the taste, know this — it is highly encouraged to spit or pour out your remaining wine in the spit bucket, especially if you’ve scheduled visits to multiple wineries,” Kristina King, Kenefick Ranch’s office manager, says. “Remember, pace yourself!”
Research Transportation Options in Advance
When you call the wineries you’re visiting ahead of time, be sure to ask about parking and transportation. Some estates don’t allow party buses on the premises, and others might be located in an area where cell phone server and/or ride shares are pretty much non-existent.
“If you’re in Napa during the harvest — the peak season for tourism — you should be aware that it may be harder to find an Uber or Lyft in the area,” warns Griffiths. “It’s much slower in the winter and early spring, so it may be easier to get a ride. Limos are more expensive, but you’ve got a driver at your beck and call to assist you during your visit, make recommendations, and ensure that other wineries or restaurants know where you are.
“If you elect to drive a car, please consider how much you taste … remember, your safety and that of others is priority No. 1,” he adds. “Finally, for anyone planning to rent bikes, particularly in the Napa area, please remember that, depending on your route, you may find yourself riding on a highway with speed limits of 50-plus miles per hour.” If the sound of that makes you nervous, plan alternate transportation in advance. No one wants to be stranded with a rental bicycle on the side of the road.
The Don’ts of Celebrating at a Winery
Don’t Take Over the Space
Sharing is caring. While you want your celebration to feel special, remember that you’re probably sharing a tasting room with other visitors, and they want to enjoy their experience, too.
Try not to “force other guests to the sidelines,” Kris Miller, tasting room manager, Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens, says. “Remember your perfect day out will most likely be shared in space with other guests and other versions of their perfect day. Leave room for others to have fun.”
Usually wineries have figured out the best place in their facilities for large groups — a.k.a, where you’ll be able to have fun without other visitors asking you to be quiet every five minutes. “[When you call], we have reserved a space for you that will give you the space and environment to have fun, be loud, and enjoy the company of your friends and family without disrupting any other reservations we may have scheduled,” Chelsea Sprague, tasting room manager at Booker Vineyards, explains.
Don’t Wait to Negotiate
Some visitors expect a tasting fee to be waived if they purchase a bottle, but that’s not how all wineries function. (As Booker Vineyard’s Sprague puts it: You don’t expect the appetizer price to vanish just because you ordered an entrée at a restaurant. “We’re providing a service and hope to give you an amazing experience,” she says.)
If you’d like to try to negotiate, call in advance to ask about pricing. Some wineries will work with you to make sure you have the best experience — and that may include a discount for, say, forgoing a traditional tasting in favor of sampling some full bottles or other helpful configurations for staff.
“Understand that groups require additional staff and therefore additional fees. [For ease], negotiate fee hurdles in advance and give one credit card,” Malani Anderson, tasting room manager at Turley Wine Cellars, says.
Don’t Forget to Ask About Attire
Most wineries don’t have particular dress codes, but their grounds might be cooler or hotter than the nearby towns. If so you’ll want to bring layers. And if you’re touring the vineyard you’ll want to wear closed-toe shoes.
“Farming and winemaking activities may be happening during your visit,” says Susan Sueiro, president of Artesa Estate Vineyards and Winery. “This is often fascinating to guests, but it can also make for dusty, noisy, or chilly environments! So do be prepared by dressing in layers and wearing comfortable shoes.”
Don’t Forget About Food
Linda Chauncey, director of wine education at Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery, and Vanesa Blasdel, guest services manager, Columbia Crest Winery, both emphasize the importance of tasting on a full stomach. Not every winery has a kitchen or allows outside food, so pack snacks and plan accordingly. Call the venue ahead of time to reserve a table if it has an on-site restaurant, or ask for recommendations for nearby places to eat or buy provisions. Build those mealtimes into your schedule. You’ll thank yourself later.

All About Cabo
New Post has been published on https://www.montanastravelagency.com/all-about-cabo/
All About Cabo
Cabo San Lucas Beach
In a land known for its inexpensive travel destinations, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, is one of the priciest—and one of the most popular—as travelers are willing to pay handsomely for what the area has to offer: fine beaches, world-class restaurants, sumptuous resorts, excellent golf courses, lively nightlife and some of the best sportfishing in the world.
Los Cabos, the name Mexican tourism officials bestowed upon two once-remote Baja California communities—Cabo San Lucas and nearby San Jose del Cabo—are connected by a stretch of coast, known as the Corredor Turistico (Tourist Corridor), that saw rapid development beginning in the 1990s. The high-tone resorts it contains are sought out by Hollywood’s A-listers. John Travolta, Jennifer Aniston, George Clooney, Susan Sarandon, Brad Pitt, Reese Witherspoon, and Britney Spears are among its visitors, celebrating birthdays at its reclusive and exclusive hideaways.
Visitors from abroad often find Cabo San Lucas—and the whole Los Cabos area—one of the most Americanized resorts in Mexico with English as common as Spanish, many expatriates running businesses, and prices on restaurant menus, in shops and in bars given in dollars instead of Mexican pesos. The Baja port also receives several cruise liners a week, which has spurred the building of the strip malls and eateries around the marina.
Highlights:
Sights—Romantic sunsets over Land’s End and El Arco; driving the Eastern Cape Road to Todos Santos in a rental car and finding isolated beaches; the shops along Calle Zaragoza and Boulevard Mijares.
Memorable Meals—Traditional Mexican fare and creative tequila drinks at the colorful Mi Casa in the heart of Cabo San Lucas; incredible lobster at Lorenzillo’s; an epic meal in a spectacular setting at El Farallon.
Late Night—Dancing the night away at frenetic El Squid Roe or The Giggling Marlin; shaking to the rhythms at Passion Nightclub or Pink Kitty Cabo; chilling out at Barometro; catching a glimpse of rock’s elite at Cabo Wabo.
Walks—Strolling the marina or Playa Medano; picnicking at Playa del Amor after exploring the trails; vestiges of Old Mexico in downtown San Jose del Cabo; traversing horseshoe-shaped Bahia Santa Maria.
Especially for Kids—Whale-watching, swimming with dolphins, riding glass-bottomed boats, snorkeling and other activities organized by child-friendly resorts.
Geography:
Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, as well as a 20-mi/32-km stretch of shoreline,  called the Corredor Turistico (Tourist Corridor) that connects these two towns, combine to make the Los Cabos region.
The four-lane highway traversing the Corridor parallels the coast and is lined with upscale resort developments and golf courses. Los Cabos lies at the southern end of Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula in the state of Baja California Sur. The dramatic juxtaposition of desert against the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean and Sea of Cortez is striking.
The Baja Peninsula is bounded to the west by the Pacific Ocean and to the east by the Sea of Cortez, which is also sometimes called the Gulf of California. Los Cabos’ most distinctive geographic feature is El Arco, a wave-cut arch, and headland jutting out into the sea at Land’s End, the tip of the Baja Peninsula.
Note: Some businesses in Los Cabos are located on unnumbered streets and labeled as “s/n,” or sin numero (without number). Most taxi drivers are able to recognize places by their names.
History:
Seafarers have long been attracted to the shores of what is now Los Cabos. In the late-16th and early-17th centuries, legend has it that notorious English seafarers such as Sir Francis Drake and Thomas Cavendish concealed themselves in the bays and coves along the southern coast of the Baja Peninsula, slipping out to ambush passing Spanish galleons. Later, Spanish missionaries attempted to convert the Guaycura and Pericu natives, but by the early 1800s, European diseases had decimated the indigenous population.
After the missionaries moved on, the rocky spires and arches that characterize the southern tip of Baja went pretty much unnoticed until after World War II. That’s when private planes began flying in celebrities—Bing Crosby and John Wayne among them—to go deep-sea fishing. Because the area was remote and difficult to reach, it remained the private hideaway of a few well-heeled travelers until the 1970s, when the Mexican government completed the Transpeninsular Highway.
The highway gave Californians a straight, 1,060-mi-/1,705-km-long shot to the tip of Baja. This improved access and the area’s beautiful setting made it a natural pick when the Mexican government went scouting for resort sites, and construction has been going on in earnest since 1976.
Today, Cabo San Lucas and the Los Cabos areas are internationally renowned tourist destinations that attract more than a million visitors each year. All this development has brought prosperity to the region, as well as crowding and environmental concerns.
Things to Do & See:
Cabo San Lucas’s main attractions are its beaches, golf courses, and lively bars and nightclubs.
Several of the luxury hotels, especially those along the Corridor, were designed by well-known Mexican architects and are worth visiting for their innovative and spectacular designs.
The area’s biggest natural draws are the gray whales that arrive each winter from their Arctic feeding grounds. Tour operators in Cabo San Lucas offer a variety of options for getting up close and personal with these giant marine mammals.
Those wishing to explore the Baja’s history and culture can do so at the Cultural Pavilion in Cabo San Lucas. Near the marina, it has a museum, library, shops, restaurants, an open-air theater with 1,130 seats, a main theater with 740 seats, administration offices and, eventually, a hotel. It hosts international exhibitions and large performances. Otherwise, visitors can make side trips to towns such as San Jose del Cabo, Todos Santos, and La Paz, which have historic areas, museums, and a more authentically Mexican atmosphere.
For a look at what Cabo San Lucas was like before the development, drive northeast of San Jose, past the Puerto Los Cabos complex and up the Eastern Cape Road. You’ll soon leave modernity behind and discover tiny, paradisiac beaches and little towns such as Los Frailes, Los Barriles, Cabo Pulmo and, after 60 mi/97 km, the town of La Ribera. Much of the road is dirt, but it’s passable for passenger vehicles except after heavy rains.
Historic Sites:
Iglesia de San Lucas
This landmark church was built in 1730 by Spanish missionaries. The inside is pretty Spartan, with a few statues and Stations of the Cross, but if you’re lucky enough to attend a Mass, you can see how it springs to life. The picturesque courtyard that surrounds the church is also worth checking out—it’s filled with vendors selling food, art, and souvenirs.
A bilingual Mass is held on Sunday at noon.
Zoos & Wildlife:
Whale-watching in Baja California is some of the world’s best. Blue, sperm and especially humpback and gray whales winter off Cabo San Lucas late December-March. The California gray whale migrates from the Bering Strait to breeding grounds in secluded lagoons on the Pacific side of Baja, and some continue on to the Sea of Cortez.
Most party or sunset cruises offer two- to three-hour whale-watching tours in the winter (usually mid-December to March).
If you’re really serious about whale-watching, charter a sportfishing boat and ask the captain to take you to the hideouts of these and other cetaceans, several of which are just off the coast. You needn’t necessarily go out on the sea to spot whales, although your chances of spotting the magnificent creatures do improve out on the water.
When the whale migration is at its peak (usually in February), you can easily spot whale spouts from any clifftop in the Corridor or from the beach in front of the Solmar Suites hotel.
Bird-watching is available in the San Jose del Cabo estuary. It has hundreds of birds, but no organized bird-watching excursion; however, there is a path around it that you can easily walk on your own.
Cabo Expeditions:
This well-established whale-watching outfit uses small Zodiac boats that lie flat in the water and can motor close to the migrating creatures. Certified by the U.S. Coast Guard because of their safety, the Zodiacs carry no more than 15 passengers including a marine biologist as a guide. Private charters are also available. Snorkeling, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) and sea-trekking are additional programs.
Cabo Dolphins:
This state-of-the-art dolphin center, designed by noted architect Enrique Norten, is at the Marina Cabo San Lucas. This interactive experience allows you to swim and play with Pacific bottlenose dolphins and learn about their physiology and environment.
Daily from 9 am. Hourly dolphin programs begin at 9 am Monday-Friday, 10 am Saturday and Sunday. The last program is at 4 pm Monday-Friday and at 1 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Recreation:
Water and land activities include beaches, boating, and sailing, fishing, golf, health clubs, hiking and walking, horseback riding, scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing, and swimming.
Spa treatments have gained much favor, particularly at Corridor resorts…

Carly and Griffin’s Belle Meade Plantation wedding
“I’ll give you the moon.” For a couple who wasn’t very interested in a wedding theme, Carly and Griffin sure picked an awesome one for their big day at Belle Meade Plantation. It’s a Wonderful Life served as inspiration to the bride during trying times and as inspiration for the details of their day including a large calligraphy banner by Olive Juice Press with the famous movie quote. Event planning and design was by Kelly Dillinger Events and stunning pink and red florals were by Rosemary & Finch and Christy Wilson Photography  was on hand to capture it all.
What made the wedding special and unique?
What made our wedding unique is that we made it to it. Kidding, sort of. Griffin and my love story is full of ups and downs. Mainly downs and more downs, in our case, though. Our relationship started with him knowing that I was not in a healthy place and I hadn’t been so in a long time. I’ve struggled a lot with my health for years and he knew that right away coming into it. He was like a breath of fresh spring time air in the dead of winter. He stepped right into not just my life at a moment when I needed him, but also when my parents needed him. They had been taking off time from work because every few days I was needing to go to an appointment with the doctor or to treatments. He took a large burden off my family. He was a blessing not just to me but to my family. For the first 5 ½ years this unique love story it was like we were trying to constantly push a boulder up a hill, through multiple issues. We take care of each other. We always have and always will. We truly have lived out and shown our vows to each other before even our wedding day. What made my wedding day special and unique? That day I got to marry my guardian angel and not everyone gets to do that.
Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!
The day I went to get my dress wasn’t a really exciting experience it was more of an overwhelming experience. I decided to take only my mom and my future mother-in-law. I was never ever one of those brides who wanted attention. We only went to one store when we were looking for my dress, Olia Zavozina. Every dress was beautiful, every dress had something special, and every dress kept coming and coming. I got overwhelmed. I didn’t know how to do this, my anxiety was off the wall and I had a terrible anxiety attack. I knew what I wanted but I couldn’t figure out how to tell them. I don’t think I could have made it through it without my MIL. She stepped up and helped me through it. She made it easier for me to show the ladies of Olia what I saw myself wearing on my day and after I was able to sit down with those fabulous ladies at Olia Zavozina to design with them exactly what I always dreamed of.
What were some touches added to make the wedding personal?
It’s A Wonderful Life has never been just a Christmas movie in our house. It’s been my favorite movie for as long as I can remember. When I became sick I saw the movie in a different way. It meant something different to me. Griff knew this and we’d put it on every time I was having an anxiety attack and needed to calm down or my depression was bad. Many, many, many sick days were spent watching that movie. I would sometimes question Griff as to why he would want to be with someone like me. Someone sick and broken and he would just reply, “I’ll give you the moon.” When our wedding came around we were pretty set on the fact that our wedding wouldn’t have a wedding theme but somehow we ended up having an It’s A Wonderful Life wedding. We were able to tie in personal touches in the groom’s cake. We recreated the cross stitch Mary goes for George, but George didn’t lasso the moon, Griffin lassoed it. Around my bouquet I had water colored onto silk, “I’ll give you the moon” and behind our wedding cake we had custom water colored backdrop with the quote, “What is it you want? You want the moon? Just say the word and I’ll throw a lasso around it and pull it down. Say that’s a pretty good idea. I’ll give you the moon.” In the movie George learns to remember that no man is a failure who has friends. I was marrying my best friend and it’s true he’s kept his promise. He still always gives me the moon.
What was the most memorable part of the day?
How do you pick just one moment from such a perfect day? But it was hands down the first dance. When we first started dating I was playing him a song by my favorite band of all times, Big Star, when one song came on. Thirteen, it was simple, it was perfect. We both just looked at each other and knew that it was our song. Naturally it was our first dance song. After having been so overwhelmed with the wedding ceremony that moment looking into the eyes of the man I love dancing and singing every word to each other. For us at that moment no one else was even there. I’m not even entirely sure we were dancing with the music at times.
Tell us how you met and became engaged.
Griff and I met his senior year of college. Fall of 2008 we both started as freshmen at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Our two dorms shared a lobby, but we never met. At the end of the first semesters we both went to a mutual friend’s birthday party at P.F. Chang’s and we sat at different tables, so we still never met.  Fast forward 3 years to the day, we FINALLY met at that same friend’s birthday party. I showed up early to vacuum. I was in my sweatpants; an extra large ‘I love Qdoba’ tshirt, zero makeup, a messy bun, and I can’t 100% promise that I was wearing deodorant at that exact moment. Our friend went around the kitchen table introducing me to everyone. But he completely skipped over introducing me to Griffin, who was sitting the of everyone at the table. So, Griffin stood up and introduced himself to me and asked if I was coming back for the party later (uh, of course I was, he was a cutie.) A few hours later I showed back up for the birthday party looking, of course, as hot as possible. He asked me out for the next night and I said, “ ABSOLUTELY”!
We got engaged on our 4th anniversary. It was, well, not a dream. It was actually entirely the way that for 4 years prior to that day I had told him over and over that I never, ever, EVER want to be proposed to. Opryland Hotel at Christmas. I love Christmas but growing up in Nashville my whole life I’ve always hated those proposals I had seen there a million times over the years there. On our 4th anniversary he books us a room at the Opryland Hotel, we got there and the room wasn’t ready just yet so they gave us a buzzer and said they would page us as soon as it was ready. We sat in the lobby for 4 hours waiting on our room. Our room had been ready 10 minutes after they had first told us they would page us when it was ready. They just forgot about us and as their gift they updated our room to a suite. I wouldn’t call it an ideal suite our room was right at the entrance of the bridge into the main area of the hotel and our curtains wouldn’t close all the way so all night we  had light shining right on us into the room. We were getting ready for dinner when Griff goes, “I can’t take this anymore.” He stormed to his bag and pulled out the ring, almost got onto his knee to ask, pops up and tries to put the ring on my finger. It didn’t fit. His anxiety was so high from worrying about proposing that he couldn’t make it out to dinner. So we spent our engagement dinner eating $15 cold grilled cheese and watching Bob’s Burgers. 2 weeks later I got my ring back from being resized and I put it on myself. It was not the proposal any girl dreams of but I got the man of my dreams so it was well worth it.

Summer and Spring: the ideal time to rent a bounce house for your party
Summer and Spring: the ideal time to rent a bounce house for your party   Bounce house rentals are the perfect addition to any type of special event. They provide a colorful, fun, and exciting addition that children will love. Kids and parents alike are always thrilled to discover that a bounce house is part of the event’s activities. Children know they can spend hours playing with their friends and classmates in a fun and exciting bounce house. And parents know their kids will be safe and having fun without having to be constantly supervised throughout the event. Spring is the best time for a bounce house rentalNo matter where you live, spring is always welcomed. Whether you had a cold, harsh winter or a relatively mild one, the warm, gentle breezes and budding flowers of spring are always a welcome relief. Spring is also the best time to rent a bounce house for a special event. Spring is when most people celebrate graduations, first communions, spring birthdays, and other events where there are likely to be a lot of children on the guest list. Bounce house castles are the perfect addition to any spring event, providing kids a place to burn off all that pent up energy from the winter in a safe, secure, and social environment. Spring offers the best weather, especially in California. By the time summer rolls around, the weather often turns hot and humid, limiting the amount of time even the most energetic children can spend outdoors. And California autumns and winters are notoriously fickle. The skies may look sunny and clear one minute but are soon filled with gray clouds and cool winds the next. Spring, however, offers consistently warm yet comfortable weather. Spring weather is California’s most reliable weather, making it the best time to add a bounce house castle to your party plans. Even if you don’t have a graduation party or a spring birthday this year, you can still benefit by renting a bounce house. Your children and their friends will enjoy playing in the colorful, enjoyable bounce house castle even if there isn’t anything special to celebrate. Rent a bounce house for the weekend or surprise your kids by having a bounce house waiting for them when they arrive home from school mid-week. It’s a memory they will never forget! SummerWho doesn’t love a party in the summertime?  The grass is green, the temperature is warm, and the blue sky just beckons us to come out and play. For a kid, a summer birthday party with a bounce house rental really just can’t be beat.  Spending hours jumping around, climbing up walls and sliding down the slide on a bounce house not only can make the party a success, but can be a highlight of a kid’s summer vacation before they go back to school. That being said, there are always some things you’ll want to be prepared for when you rent a bounce house in California to make sure your party goes off without a hitch. With record breaking temperatures going on along the area, you’ll want to make sure you keep your Bounce House rental in California as cool as possible for your kids.  Not all bounce house rental units are “wet” units, meaning that you aren’t supposed to douse them with water.  These “dry” units are typically much cheaper to rent than the “wet” units, and can be much more affordable for a day-party with the kids. If you are looking into “dry” bounce house rentals, then here are some great tips to follow to make sure your kids stay out of the heat. Timing is EverythingObviously, the best way to beat the heat in the summer is to pick a time that eliminates the hottest part of the day.  Typically the hours between 2 and 6 o’clock end up being the very hottest.  With temperatures at or over 100 degrees, almost anything is going to get hot when left out in the sun.  Try planning a birthday party for the morning time or sometime after 6:30.  Morning will probably be coolest, but since a lot of moms and dads work during the day, this might not always be a feasible option.  Opting for a little later in the day might pose some hurdles for scheduling with other kids, but it will definitely keep temperatures in check in and around the bounce house rental. LocationThe next thing to consider is where you are physically going to set up the California bounce houses rental.  While most bounce houses could technically be setup on asphalt, DO NOT do this!!  Kids can burn their feet on the asphalt and the heat from the ground will easily translate up into the actual bounce house.  For the coolest results, try to make sure you set up the bounce house on the grass.  Aside from that, try to find a spot that has a little shade!  Trees and buildings offer some natural shade and placing the bounce house near them can be helpful.  Our inflatable rentals also come with a 100 ft extension cord which gives you much more room to work with.  If your home doesn’t have grass or any shaded areas, you might consider taking the bounce house to the park and plugging into an outlet in a park and setting up the bounce house there. Hide the SlideAs an addition to the above tip of where to place the bounce house, try to make sure the slide is the portion of the bounce house that is not directly facing the sun.  The rest of the bounce house has some shade built in with the netting around the sides but the slide is the most exposed and is prone to get the hottest.  Even if you don’t have the bounce house set up in a spot that has natural shade from trees or buildings, just make sure the slide is being shaded by the rest of the bounce house and you’ll be fine. NOTE:  Even without any shade the bounce house is still fine to be played in!  The surfaces can just get a little hot, which isn’t ideal for smaller kids.  To be safe, follow the tips above to keep your bounce house rental as cool as possible. Prepare EarlyWhether you’re planning a child’s birthday celebration, outdoor festival, or any other fun event, renting a bounce house is a great way to ensure all the kids have the time of their lives. Our company, carries a wide selection of options, along with useful party equipment for your event. However, if you’re thinking about renting a bounce house, you may wonder when you should reserve it. It’s best to reserve a bounce house as soon as possible. After all, not all bounce houses are the same. The most popular options go surprisingly fast. As they are very common at children’s birthday parties, county fairs, and family-friendly music festivals, you’ll want to reserve yours early to get the right one for your plans. If you’re worried about putting down money right now for an event that’s not going to be happening for some time, it’s not an issue. At our company, we not only offer competitive rates, but they also don’t require a deposit. You can browse our options, choose the one you know your guests will love, and reserve it easily without paying right away. This is an especially good idea if you expect to have a large number of children at your event. You don’t want to reserve your bounce house too late, ending up with a small one that can’t accommodate all the kids at the party. Special SEM LED bulbs Add Delightful Ambience
f you're a candle lover, you might tire of having to follow all the necessary safety rules each time you want to burn your favorite candle. Flameless candles solve this problem while adding just as much beauty and elegance to your home. They look real, but do not impose the hazards of real burning candles.
When burning real candles, you must be careful not to place the candle on certain types of surfaces, particularly wood or cloth. Also, the candle should not be left unattended in a room for very long. Real candles can be dangerous around small children and pets, and they can catch fire if the wax and wick are not cared for properly. Also with real candles, you must be concerned with air drafts from windows and doors, or from your home's heating/air system. With flameless LED candles, you can enjoy the beauty of candles without all these worries.
What are Flameless Candles?
Flameless candles are candles that are battery-operated and created with special electronic features that give the appearance of a real flickering flame. Special SEM LED bulbs are used to create the look and feel of a real burning wax candle. Though there are many types and styles of flameless candles, probably the most sought after are those with a sealed wax top and a realistic blackened wick, as those patented by a company named Candle Impressions using its exclusive Smart Chamber design. These use fine wax and fragrances to achieve the same effects of real scented candles.
Flameless Candles and Safety
With flameless candles, safety issues are non-existent because there is no real fire, no wiring, and no melting hot wax. Many apartment buildings, business offices, and rental homes have strict rules about burning candles due to fire code regulations. Flameless candles provide a wonderful alternative to real candles without being a potential fire hazard and/or violating the fire codes where you live or work.
Decor Uses for Flameless Candles
Flameless candles often decorate homes for the holidays or during any season - spring, summer, fall, or winter. There are many styles of battery-operated candles with holiday themes, seasonal themes, colors, and fragrances. Flameless candles can be used to decorate for parties, weddings, or other special events. They also make fabulous gifts for birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, and other occasions.
The candles are available in many shapes and sizes such as round, swirl, heart, and carved designs. They can come with their own wall sconces or outdoor fixtures with no worry of the wind blowing out the candlelight. Using flameless candles in wall sconces or for outdoor lighting eliminates the need for wiring as well.
Battery-operated candles come in various pillar styles such as round (short and tall) or square. There are even fun flameless candles for kids, which make terrific night-lights!
