I've had this swap AU in my head for months and it didn't materialize on its own so lmao

Meet Nettie, Kuuno de Ruyter and Cuuno de Ruyter (or just C. She gave herself that name to match the family. Uuno, Kuuno, ykno. She's Kuuno's adopted lil sister)

I have so many ideas written for them but I'll list some of the main stuff (for now lmao)

Kuuno dropped out of school to help his dad with the bookstore. He spends all day advertising, selling, and delivering books. He wasn't doing well in school anyway - can't focus for some strange reason 🤔(undiagnosed adhd), so it felt like a waste of time. He's a big reason why the bookstore is staying afloat despite the 'curse'. His dad isn't *making* him do anything, but he doesn't really encourage him to continue school or even to take breaks. He's a very hands-off parent.

C is very quiet and antagonistic to anyone who isn't Kuuno. She's afraid of him leaving her behind, so she stays attached to him and keeps anyone from getting too close and stealing his attention (she dropped out when he did, to Kuuno's dismay). She hates that he works so hard all the time.

Nettie is. A Mess. Foul-mouthed, high-strung, and violent. She is anxious as hell, expects the worst to happen at any moment. She hides that anxiety with a whole lot of anger. She can't stand the de Ruyters, especially Kuuno and his whole fucking salesman shtick. (No she does not want to read Dick Mullen books, fuck you how dare you imply that, books are for binos and pigs suck). Also speaks in the third-person ofc.

Nettie reluctantly befriends Kuuno bc he gets rid of the nasty bugs that keep showing up in her shack. (NO she is not scared, how fucking dare you imply that, she just thinks its funny to order this loser around to pick up bugs). Her nicknames for him are Buckteeth and Bugboy hh
