Character of the day

Astaroth !

Today's character is the main reason why Cascade, the OC world, even exists. I created the world after I created him first. And then I worked on both alongside eachother bit by bit.

He's changed a lot over the past year or two now, but I believe now I have lore that is a lot more set in stone as compared to the start....so. Now we can talk about Astaroth, aka Rot.

Pre-antipathy:

At his youngest years, he's always been a gentle soul. Curious, wanting to understand the world. To meet people, to talk to those around him. But his sentiment wasn't shared, for he was crafted with a defect - a demonic core, of some sort...or at least, that's all the angels could see in Astaroth's aura. They couldn't know for sure what it was but they knew that it was demonic.

Being shunned, his curiosity got directed towards Earth instead. He took interest in plants, creatures, humans...eventually he lived amongst them for periods at a time. Went to schools to learn, lived with people, learned from them. Before he knew it, he was nearing his 100s. He learned so much about elements and materials from humans that his creationism powers became the most accurate of all the angels, at such a young age compared to others.

And yet he was still shunned. And so, one day he lashed out at the council, which only resulted in him becoming imprisoned due to already being on a thin line due to his defect.

He was imprisoned for an entire century... but eventually he managed to break out. How? Well, that's a whole thing of it's own.

Current:

Both of these designs are technically canon, however, they require a few tweaks to fall in line with canon, just on different places of the timeline.

He changes so drastically not only due to his imprisonment, but due to his "defect". For it has a mind of it's own, which may or may not influence Rot's personality over time...

Either way, the unjust imprisonment is something Rot will attempt to take revenge for. However, he'll find himself striving for bigger, more important goals around that time as well....

Fallen AU:

ON A LIGHTER NOTE, there's an AU version where he accepts falling. In this case, he ends up entering a portal into another world with a bunch of different kinds of OCs, and so, they're stuck until the scientists there find a way to teleport them back (yes this is an rp server plot). There, Rot meets Ethan (who belongs to @/surfervelocity), and they find companionship in eachother due to their similar pasts.

Then gay happens and they care for eachother very much. So much so that Rot gives up on his previous goals in canon lore and instead embraces a more peaceful life, thus finally giving up his ties to Hevetta and "falling". But in the end, that's what brings him some form of peace and happiness.

In a way, this proves that he'll never be happy or at peace, never himself, never reach his true potential as long as he holds onto that revenge towards the council. It's what continues to tie him to Hevetta, and why his halo, even while unstable, is still intact.

So yeah! That's the lore about my babygirl <3 my little meow meow <3 <3 <3 you can tell he's my favorite because he's the most traumatized :>

Oh!! In lithuanian we have an alternate name for ladybugs as "god's cow" as well!

I just learned that the Russian word for “ladybug” translates to “God’s Little Cow”

Character of the day

Cecil !

I don't think I've talked about him yet, so here we go!

Cecil is one of the first angels created, and one of the only one left from the original 10. He's witnessed Hevetta before a hierarchy was set in place, and he was forced into it and into a guardian role after the last angel/demon war took place.

He's quite annoyed by the restrictions of his abilities, and often looks for ways to learn new spells that his restrictions allow him to. That's how he learned to see and jump through wormholes.

Cecil has lived long enough to see and try almost everything, which has made him rather bored and apathetic, however, he still puts on a kind face. All because of someone who was kind to him, before the last war. He could never understand their affection towards him, why they stuck around.

They made Cecil wonder what it is like to truly feel that type of affection and love, since he could never feel it himself. It's the one thing his curiosity still follows and search for to this day.

Aziraphale!

She's an elysian angel, part of the blesser angels on the hierarchy! She doesn't seem too bothered about her place on this hierarchy, as she's just happy to do her part (even if she knows she's not very good at it). She's very loyal to the beliefs of Hevetta, which might come off as naive. However, it's all she knows.

Azira is one of the only angels who was also "naive enough" to become friends with Astaroth. She always believes in the good of others, and she could see it in Astaroth as well, despite the defect in his aura.

Perhaps that's the reason she was one of the only people unharmed during Astaroth's escape.

Who are the council?

Is this like early in human development or are they like driving cars?

Are cars even a thing?

Is he Gay in cannon?

Cecil's halo was broken in one of the drawings, and I was wondering if the halo changes with her emotions?

Oh!!! I don't think anyone's asked about my OCs before (at least not on tumblr), so this is really exciting !

Zevary / Zev !

He's a chthonian demon, part of the Undertow group that keeps an eye on angel and demon activities to keep the peace among the Heavrah and Hevetta realms. He doesn't particularly like being involved, but he has no choice as he owes someone in the group a favor.

If he's ever needed for something in the group, it's usually stealth or information gathering. He's good at keeping is nerves in check, which means blending in is an easy task.

He mainly prides himself on his physical abilities, however, he does have a special ability that he's been keeping secret, even from most of his group. Mostly because he doesn't want it to undermine all of the physical abilities that he's put work into over the years.

Character of the day

Lucy !

Lucy is... the ruler of Heavrah, aka hell in Cascade! She doesn't particularly enforce much of anything too restrictive, only really keeping things in order. Partially it's because she can't be bothered to, but also because she has no want to be anything like her sister.

She often acts sly and condescending, but she has the power to back it up with her abilities or strength.

Alongside strength, she also has demons who are her right hand, ones she trusts and who are forever loyal to her - The Commanders (yes, Heavrah has a hierarchy of it's own in a sense). She lets them handle most of the things around Heavrah, but will step in if she sees that she must.

Raiel !

Elysian angel, part of the archangels. She was deemed "special enough" to be put as part of the archangels due to her unique abilities relating to making plants bloom. However, no one but The Council are yet aware that the spores these plants release have special properties... and the council will utilize it appropriately.

Been thinking if I should move over the "Character of the day" tradition from BlueSky over to Tumblr as well. Basically I'd post one of my OCs once per day and say something about them! Maybe their personality, maybe something about their design that's special, or maybe something about their lore. I did that on BlueSky because I originally moved there from Twitter and wanted to start re-posting a lot of my art, but didn't want to just spam post art....so that's where "Character of the day" thingy spawned from haha
