Life During the Pandemic: From Being Distressed to Appreciating Life

It has been over a year since the pandemic began. A lot of dreams and plans had to be put on hold, and so many changes had to happen for us to be able to cope with the situation. I'd like to share my story of how I went from being distressed to appreciating life and getting to know myself better.

Despite the difficulties we face, this pandemic has taught me valuable lessons. It taught me to appreciate the little things in life, such as waking up each morning, the beauty of nature and the magnificence of the sky, and spending time with my family.

Being able to travel, go places, and dress up were some things I truly missed. Today, I dressed up and went on a date with myself in my hometown, which I'm thankful to be in during the pandemic because it's surrounded by beautiful greenery and is safer than the city.

What I enjoy the most about being here is the simplicity of life. It allows me to slow down and savor each moment, sipping my coffee while listening to the birds sing, the wind whisper in my ears, and the sun's rays on my face.

In this day and age of digital technology, it's good to be reminded of the benefit of simple living. However, simple living doesn’t have to stop you from utilizing the advantage of technology, one which is convenience. The ability to buy anything in a few clicks from my gadgets without exposing myself is a great advantage. But I learned to be a wise buyer and for me being one usually means waiting for sale online before checking out.
