i was literallt like okay even if my wol is hydaelyn’s s.j.w. of light holy soldier sheeple and weapon he’s chill with it because gourd really does seem to maintain freedom of action and other than political detail that is mostly writer limitation he’s always just done whatever he wanted. there was never a time where i felt like hydaelyn intercessed on his will unfairly so I was like what does her will and her apparent “control” even mean she doesn’t even seem to be that powerful. if anything he projected his wish for guidance and meaning on her light and he knew from the beginning he was wishing for something she couldnt actually do. i think it would have been fun I guess if she DID suddenly at a crucial moment show her full hand or something and forced the wol to do something abhorrent to their own life and loved ones for her goals but I also think it would be a very…meaningless and cheap and unsubstantiated twist as theatrical as it wouldve been. i think it would have to ignore a lot of the actual fact of how things actually were re: her influence on the story thus far to pull an ACTUALLY..SHE WAS EVOL.😈 I GOT YOU GUYS HUH in the sort of writing that always aims to have an upper hand on the reader. the twist being that you were okay with being used or harmed in some way and were literally like Well whatever happens happens and bit the bullet and jumped in bracing for the impact and then it turns out they would never have done that to you in the first place and actually were just. human. is so much more. *disintergates into dust* You Got Me There for me
