Not technically for @may-blade but since the theme is mafia for today, I figured I’d share this fanfiction recommendation that is a Mafia AU featuring our beloved Russians by the wonderfully talented @krixel

I love this fanfic so much. It’s one of my true joys in fandom, it gives me everything I need, charming but cold Tala who gets shot in the first chapter and is genuinely the WORST patient ever. Very disgruntled Bryan and Ian having to deal with injured Tala (Spencer is lovely as always) and Kai DOES NOT want to be there. Except he does, because these are his boys too, and whatever shit Valkov’s gotten himself into (and there’s a LOT of shit) he’s going to help them out. Even if does mean dealing with Garland. Ugh.

Unfortunately during this whole gang warfare thing, they sort of kidnapped a barista. But you know, shit happens (as mentioned above). Luckily Mariam’s there to watch videos with her and keep her calm. >.> I love the atmosphere of this story, how from the very first scene I felt like I was immersed in this new world and it’s like cracking open a favourite novel from your favourite writer and knowing that you’re in for a good story.

The dialogue is perfect, so witty and clever and those little nuggets of brilliance also filter into the internal dialogue too so when a character is on their own or lost in their own thoughts, it’s wildly entertaining. The characterisation is beautiful too, I just love how on point the boys are, and how wonderfully blasé they are about the violence.

Also the action scene still takes my breath away. It’s like a movie, a movie I want to rewatch over and over again. I really can’t wait to read more of it.

So yes, for all your Mafia AU Beyblade needs, I present to you ‘Good Left Undone’
