Finally mangaged to start episode 3, still haven't finished but I'm loving how every single one of the poetic/important rolls are hitting in this series. This is an effin amazing and IMPORTANT story, and there is not a single "aww that would have been so cool if it worked." The failures just add to the epicness and drive the story forward.

BRENNAN LEE MULLIGAN IS A MAD GENIUS and Dim20 is GREAT and possssibly better just cause it's the newest BUT NO ONE ELSE WILL TAKE MY RECS FOR ALLLL HIS STUFF. In CASE YOU WILL: he also wrote Strong Female Protagonist (give it 3 chapters), and also he guest hosted The Adventure Zone (Dadlands) and that's easy to miss.

OH HEY STRONG FEMALE PROTAGONIST. I read the whole thing back when it was still on...i want to say the dam arc? with the former teammate who made illusions, back in 2016–I never made the connection! I should catch up. There’s absolutely that same ruthlessness in narrative engagement, that unflinching confrontation of ALL the implications of an action. I so much respect how Mulligan never gives characters an easy way out, if that makes sense? Not the heroes and not the villains. And not the reader, either!

I have listened to Dadlands!! is fun. i’ve also heard good things about A Crown of Candy so i’m hoping to get to that after i (eventually) work my way through fantasy high.
