Obsessive Bucky, Tony knows this and he holds his cheeks everytime Bucky comes back a little redder.
Tony smiles sweetly pushing back the sticky black hair, "Bug-a-boo, you hurt someone again?"
Bucky huffs softly nuzzling Tony, "they made you mad."

Summary: It's time for you to address the pack as the new alpha and it doesn't go quiet as expected. Especially if you're making your speech with a vampire by your side.
Warnings: angst, fluff, werewolf shifting, strong language, werewolf/vampire au, mentions of a war, I think that's all...

The first speech to the pack as the new alpha is important. You have to assert your authority, but not come off as mean or rude, or overbearing. You have to show that you are there to look after the pack, but also remind them that you can’t do everything. You have to be kind so that they will be able to trust you with anything, but you can’t appear weak.
And honestly, you have no idea what to say.
You pace in your bedroom, mutter the words you can say to your pack, planning how you’re going to slip in the plans you have to end the war, how you’re going to tell the pack that you have a vampire soulmate.
Tony’s the one that’s good with the speeches, not you. If you had more time, maybe you could have come up with something as great as what your father could come up with on the spot.
Shaking your hands as you breathe out a deep breath. You know you need to calm down, but you can’t ignore the way your heart thumps in your ears or how you feel like this is all going to end miserably.
There’s a knock on your door, making your head snap up and your eyes go wide at the thought that it’s Steve coming to tell you that it’s time. Seeing Bucky behind Nat’s smiling face, you gasp and rush towards him. He chuckles when you throw yourself into his arms, wrapping your arms around his neck and burying your nose into his neck.
“What are you doing here?” you question in a small whisper as you pull away to look up at his face, touch the side of his cheek just to make sure you’re not imagining all this.
“I thought you might need some support,” Nat mentions, making your head turn towards her to see the smile on her face. She nods her head as if to say it’s not a big deal and she takes a step back. “I’ll give you guys five minutes. No doubt there needs to be some calming down because of the smell of a vampire being here,” she whispers, reaching for your door handle to pull it closed so you two have some privacy.
You look back up to Bucky, laugh, and shake your head in shock as he pulls you in for a kiss. Even though you saw each other that morning, reuniting with him is like reuniting after being away for a long while.
He kisses you like he needs to breathe, holds your face in his hands, and slowly drops them to rest on the base of your neck. “You’re sure about this?” he questions in a whisper after breaking the kiss. “What we’re about to do might change everything.”
Biting your lower lip as you wrap your arms around his neck, you nod your head and breathe out a sigh and he rests his forehead against yours. “I’m counting on it,” you whisper back, your fingers gently stroking the back of his head, just under his hairline, almost as if you want to weave your fingers through his hair.
“And you won’t let anything happen to me while I’m here, right?”
His question makes you frown and pull away slightly to look up at him. “Are you scared, Bucky?” you ask back, fighting a smile from growing on your face as he playfully rolls his eyes at you and bites the inside of his cheek.
“My instincts don’t take too well at being surrounded by werewolves,” he mentions with a chuckle, his hand pushing back a stray piece of hair behind your ear as his eyes flicker down to the bonding mark on your neck.
You smile at him, bring a hand to cup his cheek, and breathe out a small sigh. “I promise, I won’t let anything happen to you. You have my word as your mate, and as the alpha of this pack,” you state, your thumb stroking his cheek makes a smile grow on his face as he leans into your touch. “Just like how you always protect me when I’m at the coven,” you add, leaning forward to rest your forehead against his again.
Bucky nods his head and chuckles as he reaches for your hands to weave his fingers through yours. “I will always protect you,” he says, his words making you nuzzle your face against his, an action Bucky’s grown fond of. It makes him feel safe and wanted. You seem to have that effect on him. You seem to make him forget that he’s a vampire sometimes.
“Will you stay tonight?” you ask, give his hands a small squeeze as he sighs.
He knows it’s hard for you to be away from him for so long. He can feel it. But he feels that tonight might be the first time he and you can spend the night together as an actual couple. Tonight might be the first time you both don’t have to sneak around just to be with each other.
“It depends on what happens,” he mentions. Taking a step back, he gives you a reassuring smile before leading you to the door. You think that he’s almost eager to get this done as you are, and it makes you smile.
Walking towards the gathering area, you and Bucky can both feel the tension in the air from the pack. He squeezes your hand tightly, making you stroke the back of his hand to comfort him, even though he knows you’re nervous too.
Nat is waiting for you and Bucky at the door, a proud smile on her face as she nods her head, a sign that the pack is waiting for you on the other side of the door. She gives you a nod as she reaches for the door handle. As she pushes the door open, you take a deep breath and look up to Bucky.
There’s a red glow in his eyes as he stares at the door, the grip on your hand becoming tighter as he gets a whiff of all the werewolves waiting for you. “I love you,” you whisper to Bucky as you and he takes a small step forward.
He smiles, the tension in his shoulders disappearing as he turns his gaze down to you. “I love you too,” he whispers back.
The moment quickly ends when low growls fill the room, making your head snap forward and a stern glare falls on your face. You let go of Bucky’s hand and take a protective step in front of him. Growling back at them asserts your dominance, to remind them that you’re the alpha now. “My father used to talk about change for the better. And I think it’s time we start making some changes,” you speak, shifting on your feet as you look around at the pack.
They don’t really react to that, only stare at you with hard expressions on their faces and arms folded over their chests. “What makes you think we want to work with vampires?” “How can we trust them?” Why should we even change things?”
You turn your head to Nat as the questions keep coming, each angrier than the last. You knew this would happen, you knew that they wouldn’t exactly take well to a vampire being in the compound, in their safe place. Nat points to her neck to gesture to your bonding mark. And it might cool down the pack a bit.
So, turning back to the pack, you tie up your hair to expose the scar. And just as you thought, it makes the questions stop. You look back at Bucky, hold out your hand to him as he steps forward and takes your hand. “This is why I want this war to end,” you announce, smiling at Bucky as he turns his gaze down to you. “Everything we know about how this war started is a lie and we’re not as innocent as we thought we were.”
“You want us to give up and let the vampire take over?” a werewolf questions, making your head snap back to the pack. He steps forward, glaring at you and Bucky. “How do we even know that you’re not that witchy vampire in his coven in a disguise, huh?” he questions, making Bucky hiss at him only to have most of the pack growl at him.
“Are you challenging me?” you question, taking a step forward as you narrow your eyes at him.
The werewolf shrugs his shoulders as he smirks at you. “All I’m saying is, no doppelganger can turn into a wolf,” he mentions, making your hand slip out of Bucky’s and your eyes narrow at him.
But the rest of the pack agrees, challenging you to shift. Seeing Steve walk into the room, you look over to him as the pack carries on urging you to turn into a wolf to make sure you’re still a werewolf.
Bucky’s eyes move over to Steve, shifts on his feet and takes a breath. This is the first time he’s seeing Steve in years without there being a fight going around. And when Steve sees Bucky, they stare at each other for a while as you look at Nat for advice.
She nods her head, silently saying that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to do it if it means proving a point. Sighing, you reach up to the necklace Bucky gave you so you can take it off, not wanting to break it during the shift. You turn to hand it to Bucky, breaking the stare he had with Steve, and give him a reassuring smile.
Members of the pack look between each other, knowing that if you aren’t a doppelganger, your werewolf self won’t be able to resist killing the intruder vampire. They’re not too sure about this bond between you two.
Turning to the pack, you take a deep breath and close your eyes to focus on turning. It’s going to be rough and hard, but you have to do this if it means they’ll listen to you and help you end this war.
Bucky takes a step back as your breathing picks up and he hears a growl growing at the back of your throat. He remembers the last full moon, how he felt the fur turn into skin, and as you fall to the ground on your hands and knees, he sees the opposite of that happening right in front of him.
He can hear the bones in your body break so they can rearrange, your clothes shredding to pieces. It makes him bite the inside of his cheek and force himself not to step forward to try and comfort you. He knows that it’s best to leave you.
And it’s not long before that wolf he distinctly remembers standing in front of him. You lift your head up at the pack who stares at you, surprised and kind of shocked, some embarrassed that they even doubted you.
But there are some that still wait to see you attack the vampire behind you.
Bucky knows you won’t, so he takes a step forward, making you turn around to face him. A gasp falls over the pack as he holds his hand out to touch your head, confused as to why you’re not growling at him. When you take a step forward, not a single werewolf breathes.
You let Bucky touch your head, lean into his touch and sigh in content. He looks up at the werewolves that mutter in surprise. “I understand if some of you don’t want to work with vampires. Or that you don’t want to hear what I have to say, but I promise that I will protect this pack just as I would protect my own coven,” he states, resting his hand on the top of your head.
He can only imagine what this might look like; a vampire beside a werewolf in wolf form with the wolf trying to kill him.
“If any of you don’t agree, or up for change,” Nat speaks for you, knowing exactly that it’s what you wish to say. “We won’t stop you from walking away and leaving the pack,” she mentions, standing beside Bucky with her arms folded over her chest.
And with a small growl to the pack, you turn with Bucky and walk away. It’s now up to the pack whether they want to stay and fight to end the war with you and Bucky or not.
You only shift back into human form when you’re back in your room. And after getting dressed, Bucky returns the necklace to your neck and smiles down at you. He reaches up to your neck and traces the bonding mark. “So, shifting in a wolf looks terrible,” he mutters, making you chuckle as you take a step forward.
“You have no idea. But it was necessary,” you mention, resting your hands on his chest as you look up at him.
“To assert yourself as alpha,” he adds, making you smile and nod your head. “Just promise me that you won’t do that again unless you absolutely need to,” he whispers, holding your face in his hands as he takes a small step forward. “I don’t like the idea of you putting yourself in pain.”
Smiling at him, you turn your face to rub your cheek in his palm. You shrug your shoulders and reach up to place your hand over his. “I don’t notice it that much,” you state, and Bucky breathes out a chuckle.
The door opens, making you and Bucky pull apart and turn to see who it is. Seeing that it’s Steve, Bucky slips his hands in yours as his eyes glow slightly red. He fights back the instincts growing inside him, grips your hand tightly when Steve glances over to him. This is his best friend, or was his best friend.
“It’s good to see you again, Buck,” Steve says, his hands curling into fists as he fights back his own instincts to attack him.
Bucky nods his head, smiles and his hand around yours slackens. “Good to see you too, Steve,” he replies, making you smile and stroke the back of his hand with your thumb as you look at Steve.
You know it will be tough for both of them, best friends that were torn apart because of what HYDRA had done to Bucky, turning him into a vampire and making instinct keep them apart. Steve looks at you as he clears his throat. “How are you gonna explain to Tony that your pack numbers have fallen when he wakes?” Steve questions, shifting on his feet as he tries to push down his urge to kill the vampire in the room.
Steve doesn’t want to kill Bucky for a few reasons. One of them being that he’d never dare kill another werewolf’s mate and the other being that Bucky was once his best friend.
Biting your lip, you glance down to the ground and sigh in disappointment. But you expected this to happen anyway. “We’ll manage. We don’t need anyone who’ll try to hold us back.”
