“Unlike its more well-known Kantoean counterpart, which lives in large, highly aggressive swarms, these Beedrill are mostly solitary in nature. Using their shovel-like forearms and posterior drill, these Pokémon make cozy underground burrows in which they can raise their young. The unique lifestyle of this subspecies puts it at risk from human activity, as recent construction efforts and introduction of more aggressive pollinator species has limited available resources.”
Evolves from Kakuna at level 12 while knowing a ground-type move (sand-attack).

Hello again Diary, I write on the day of my first duel between equals, I am exhilarated, focused and ready to show that house Frostfounder as well earned its' reputation.
//Fucking terrified. I've been in combat before but this is against one of the best Cannamos has to offer - or at least one of the most cruel; same difference I suppose. Spent half of the last week rearranging my books and trying to make sure all the chairs were in the right place - nervous busywork.
While training and maintenance have taken the bulk of my time I didn't want to forget some of the more important duties of my station - hosting guests in what space I have, thusly having a space worth hosting guests in. Since the College is quite busy I only had limited time to make use of the mover services but I believe I directed them properly.
Plans of my quarters are included
I've already entertained Delamar Leonasius of the House of Sand, fascinating fellow who understood what conversation is actually about.
The fire, while not strictly needed in Throne, is a lovely reminder of home.
The quiet luxury is welcome - not too ostentatious, not too cramped.
//These are a little smaller than my chambers back at home but it's honestly nice to not have to keep maintaining the trophy room and not having to run monthly mine inspections. Have also had to work out some drying solutions but that's an ongoing project; "Suited to life among the unauged" my fucking tail.

Why?
So, some background on electronegativity:
Electronegativity of an atom is the ability of the atom to pull shared electrons in a bond towards it. As such, the bigger the electronegative difference between two atoms, the closer the bond is to ionic, since the electrons get closer to the atom with the higher elctronegativity. In adition, that means that the more electronegative the atom, the more reactive it is.
So, what is chlorine trifluoride?
Chlorine trifluoride has the following molecular formula: ClF3
normally, chlorine would make only one bond, since it is a halogen. However, the fluorine, being more electronegative than chlorine, 'bullies' the chlorine and makes two bonds with one of it's electron pairs.
Fluorine is the most electronegative atom, and chlorine is the fourth. As such, it is *extremely* reactive.
Let's read parts from the wikipedia page:
Chlorine trifluoride has been investigated as a high-performance storable oxidizer in rocket propellant systems. Handling concerns, however, severely limit its use. The following passage by rocket scientist John D. Clark is widely quoted in descriptions of the substance's extremely hazardous nature:
It is, of course, extremely toxic, but that's the least of the problem. It is hypergolic with every known fuel, and so rapidly hypergolic that no ignition delay has ever been measured. It is also hypergolic with such things as cloth, wood, and test engineers, not to mention asbestos, sand, and water—with which it reacts explosively. Steel, copper, and nickel are not consumed because a passivation layer of metal fluoride will form which prevents further corrosion, but molybdenum, tungsten, and titanium are unsuitable as their fluorides are volatile. ClF3 will quickly corrode even noble metals like iridium, platinum, or gold, oxidizing them to chlorides and fluorides. This oxidizing power, surpassing that of oxygen, causes ClF3 to react vigorously with many other materials often thought of as incombustible and refractory. It ignites sand, asbestos, glass, and even ashes of substances that have already burned in oxygen. In one particular industrial accident, a spill of 900 kg of ClF3 burned through 30 cm of concrete and 90 cm of gravel beneath.[20][17] There is exactly one known fire control/suppression method capable of dealing with ClF3—flooding the fire with nitrogen or noble gases such as argon. Barring that, the area must simply be kept cool until the reaction ceases.[21] The compound reacts with water-based suppressors and CO2, rendering them counterproductive.[22] Exposure to larger amounts of ClF3, as a liquid or as a gas, ignites living tissue, resulting in severe chemical and thermal burns. ClF3 reacts violently with water and exposure to the reaction also results in burns. The products of hydrolysis are mainly hydrofluoric acid and hydrochloric acid, which are usually released as steam or vapor due to the highly exothermic nature of the reaction, and these substances present hazards of their own.

Baron Vladimir Harkonnen & Feyd Rautha & Glossu Rabban & Zamah (OC) 877 words
Summary: Rabban is back on Arrakis much to the Baron's distaste. Baron has cordially invited his nephews to dinner, unimpressed there's a new pet in tow. Taking place in the Monsters & Sand Demons timeline.
Warnings: Baron is unredeemable and implied qualities are there but without detailed descriptions.

Obligations were for those beneath him. For those who scraped and toiled, scurrying through existence like insects, clinging desperately to notions of duty and responsibility. He was not like them. He was sat in the presence of time itself, unmoved by the ticking of lesser men’s clocks. He did not trouble himself with the mundanes of what came next—why should he? There would always be a next, and when it arrived, it would do so on his terms.
That was what Piter was for. That was what his other mentats were for. Their minds could twist through probabilities, sift through the endless tangles of cause and effect. Let them concern themselves with calculations and contingencies. He needed only to reach out, pluck the most favourable outcome from the stream, and make it so. That was power. That was control.
Still, there were things even the best computations could not fully predict. People. Ambition. Weakness. And so, the Baron kept some cards close to his chest, not out of paranoia—he despised the word—but out of necessity. Knowledge was leverage, and leverage was best wielded in the dark.
His morning had been one of indulgence. The bathhouse had been thick with steam and the heady perfume of exotic oils, the air sweetened further by the rich spice of his smokes. The waters had slicked over his vast form as he reclined, his entourage of delights flitting about like jewelled insects, existing solely for his pleasure. He had eaten well, drank well, and lost himself in the simple, satisfying act of taking.
But pleasure never dulled his mind. Even in the haze of comfort, he considered the game, the shifting board of pieces that must be controlled. His nephews. Feyd, sharp and eager, a blade yet to be properly honed. Rabban, thick and heavy-handed, useful in his way but limited in scope. It was best to keep them close. Better a leash than a knife in the dark.
He enjoyed their little struggles, their desperate need to prove themselves under his scrutiny. Dropping tasks on them last-minute was a simple but effective exercise—pressure revealed the cracks in a man. And should one of them break? Well. That would be revealing in its own way.
And so, he had summoned them. Surely, they would not be too busy to dine with their dear uncle.
Now, he sat at the end of the long table, his bulk sprawling in the grand chair that was more throne than seat. The distance between himself and the others was intentional. He did not involve himself in their squabbles; he merely observed, allowing them to play out their petty grievances beneath his watchful eye.
Feyd arrived first. That pleased him. Feyd always understood the necessity of appearances. He moved with purpose, with control, sliding into his seat with the confidence of someone who knew his presence was desired. The Baron allowed himself a small smile, though he did not acknowledge the boy just yet. Let him wait.
Then, the other one arrived.
The Baron did not sigh, though he wanted to. Rabban was predictable, plodding. No finesse. He seated himself like a creature collapsing into its pen, his movements graceless. The Baron did not need to glance at him to feel the heat of his stupidity radiating outward. He had long since stopped hoping for improvement.
His gaze caught on something unexpected. A woman.
Lips curled, not quite a smile, but something close. She did not belong. Not truly. The illusion of Harkonnen lineage had been draped over her like a poorly tailored cloak—convincing from a distance, but up close? Laughable. Her skin was too dark, her features wrong. Her eyes, though freshly coloured, carried no true weight of breeding.
The Baron let his gaze linger, calculating. A stray indulgence, no doubt. Or something else? Feyd would never have been foolish enough to bring her here. That left Rabban. Predictable, clumsy Rabban.
He let the moment stretch, saying nothing, merely watching. She met his gaze.
Interesting.
Most would look away, flinch under the weight of his attention. She did not. A quiet defiance lurked behind those coloured eyes, subtle but present. He could sense it.
How very curious.
His voice, when it came, was light. Deceptively so.
“Should I question why we are keeping pets at the table?”
There was no direct accusation, no overt displeasure—only the lazy amusement of a man who found himself confronted with a curiosity he had not expected.
He did not look at Rabban, but would know the fool to stiffen. The Baron’s amusement deepened. He did not even know why he disliked her, not yet. It was simply instinct, like most of Rabban’s emotions were.
Then came the cough, rough and spluttering, a physical rejection of whatever impulse had seized his chest.
The Baron let his gaze linger a moment longer, drinking in the woman’s stillness, the way she held herself. There was something there, something to be examined. But not now.
He flicked a hand. Dismissive.
"Why don’t you put her with the other ones?"
The woman had been acknowledged, categorized, and discarded. She was of no further interest to him.
But the Baron’s mind did not discard things so easily.
He would reconsider her at a later time.

Thinktober 6: Golden
The heat of the sands, the massive bulk of the mother dragon nearby, the crowds of people there to see and be seen, the little dots of Rekke’s parents in the distance.
Of the seven or so girls and women here to try their luck, only perhaps three are any sort of real possibility: the headstrong Kimara whose self-confidence will get her where kindness won't, the timid Berne whose ability to hear all dragons will probably overcome that limitation in time (not that anyone’s said anything, but Rekke sees the way dragons react to her, and her to them)... and Rekke herself.
Always dependable, always practical, keeps her head in a crisis, already has a lifetime of sacrificing the songs and freedom she wants for the greater good of her family and farmhold.
Which wouldn't be a problem, because the other two are happy to be here. But there are three golden eggs; all of them are shaking.
Across the cavern, a clumsy bronze claws its newfound partner as it tries to embrace him. People are shouting, but not at the violence as a blue tosses one boy aside to get to another behind it--no, the noise is Kimara's people, because she has Impressed the first queen hatchling. She's trying to stand tall and smug while it mews at her feet, but even from here Rekke can see her expression.
Berne becomes a sobbing mess as she embraces her new partner; the thing snuffles over her shoulder for food while she hugs it.
The last gold flexes free of its shell. Rekke tries to ignore the stab in her heart at the sight of that damp-dark hide and those whirring rainbow eyes. She plans to remain indistinguishable amongst the other white-robed candidates. Some of the girls strain toward the thing; a few others look forlornly at the greens Impressing in the distance. Others are more sensibly shrieking and backing away from its ungainly movements as it begins to approach.
It’s too late. It made eye contact, and has invaded the quiet of her mind with forlorn words: my name is Marath and I love you. And Rekke—inescapably, irrevocably, claustrophobically, loves Marath. She sinks to her knees as the other girls scatter or break into sobs or look to each other for comfort. Marath sticks her face into Rekke’s—none of the short briefings mentioned the stink—but just like everything else, just like the few girls Marath walked over and probably maimed forever in her rush to reach Rekke—it all matters so much and not at all.
She helps Marath extend her baby wings with fingers that tremble. Somewhere, far, far away, she can hear her family screaming for her. She is screaming inside, too. Her family has been talking for weeks about the prestige, the connections, maybe recruiting some lesser riders for help in getting their goods to market faster. She has been thinking since selection about... her heart outside her body. Feeling the dragon’s—Marath’s—hunger as though it is her own. Never again being alone inside her head, just like she’s never been alone in the fields or in the bedroom she shared with four siblings.
Rekke couldn’t help dwelling on the stories the weyrfolk whispered like bait or whips to the candidates during their briefings: of Ramoth’s first flight and the state her rider was in afterward, how F’lar showed her... they said it was a good time, but they talked about her injuries. How the dragons’ emotions make things different. Acceptable.
The weyrmen looked at all the girls during those talks, and the boys. Rekke wonders how many will get home. How many will want to.
Marath licks away Rekke's tears of love and revulsion.

Sync Pair Retrospective - Hoenn VA (Common Pool)
And the other aspect of the Villain Arc: the commons. Looker was finally added to the game, fulfilling my personal wish for his presence, while Courtney defied the odds and was added as the first team admin. For some reason. So, how did the new general pool additions do?
Looker Badly, moving on. ...okay fine. He did get Poison Zone from H!Iris, and he now can partner with Emma, but his "partnership" with Emma is that he has a better poison rate to let her Buddy move take over. Looker's so incredibly sad as a sync pair, I'm kinda mad about it. I don't know why they did this to him. Like you couldn’t make him Tech? Give him some kind of poison and debuffing focus? It had to be a shitty Strike pair?
Looker is so bad that Roxie can outperform him. ROXIE. A common, who just received her EX, is stronger than Looker, a 5* pair. Grid expansions cannot come fast enough, but given how late he was added, it’s far more likely that Plumeria will get one first, and eclipse both. Looker may as well be bottom of the barrel at this point. As far as general pool goes, Looker does not offer much, and it’s...very distressing. Courtney Comparatively, we have God-Queen Courtney, who some argue is the best general pool unit in the game. They're wrong. It's Lucian. But Courtney puts up enough of a fight I'd consider her #3.
Courtney's big defining feature is Ground Zone. Previously relegated to limited pairs, Zone effects were wildly coveted, and having it show up on a general pool was insane. DeNA were pulling out all the stops to get you to spend on everything before the anniversary event, so man, whatever they had planned was going to be amazing (*agonized internal screaming*). Courtney also packed a Ground-type sync nuke, with a decent Bulldoze DPS on it, and potentially perfect self-setup. Moreover, she had Defense Crush. Pre-mega evolution, it only had a 30% chance, while post-mega was a 100%. This was a glorious effect that paired her perfectly with every known Ground-type damage dealer, as literally all of them were physical. Also, note the Def/Spd debuffing again. Three sync pairs in under a month. Is that not weird to anyone else?
Her drawback? SLOW AS DIRT. Courtney's gauges are horrendous, and with a three-bar move, this is really bad. Any team she's supporting needs to pack a lot of gauge control, or there are going to be problems. And guess what Ground types suck at!
As a Zone setter, Courtney lives and dies by the strength of her same-type partners. They all do well, but many, like Maxie and SS Giovanni, are so slow as to be catastrophic without speed-boosting support. Ingo is a godsend for many, but Maxie actively doesn’t work because of the weather conflict, and until Lyra gets an expansion that hopefully improves her bulk, it’s not looking good for either of them. Cynthia’s the winner of the type. Relatively fast, loves Ingo, boosts her own speed under Sand. The expansion really just highlighted that they were going for Cynthia favoritism. Shame about her Lodge pair.
The intervening year hasn’t seen much change for Courtney. Naomi was the first specially offensive Ground type in the game, but even then, Naomi’s so frail and aims to clear quickly, so Courtney remains her best partner with Ingo. Victor showed up with secondary typing, and I imagine they’re able to do something together, especially with his Ground-type Max Move hitting all opponents. Speaking of, Rose is coming in with similar, albeit much stronger, Max Move potential as well. So that’s fun. There’s also the new Raikou Legendary Arena. It’s pretty easy, but Courtney is notably well equipped to counter its entire stage. The big loss was SC Lyra. Ground Rebuff should have been the next step in Courtney’s evolution, but Lyra is also slow as dirt with poor gauge management, so as far as helping allies? It’s still not a valuable partnership.
Ground hasn’t really taken off. There aren’t many pairs that function with Ground-type damage specifically. Courtney does well as her own damage dealing, being the most competent of the generally available pairs. Low bar, but she clears it nicely. The problem for Courtney tends to come with her partners. Gauges plague Courtney’s existence, and until she gets a really helpful speed-boosting support pair, not much will change. There’s Sonia, I guess, but one point of team speed per hit taken isn’t exactly solving her issues, you know?
