jay never says yes to joining the daniel crew, he leaves to study in seoul national university and become a doctor to help them in the future because if he joins the daniel crew his father still has the power to destroy him and everything he loves (including daniel) for real

he finishes his bachelor degree at age 24, then on his graduation day he sees it on the news: daniel, zack, and vasco all died in the boss battle against charles choi / dg / gun / whoever at the end

he gets hit by truck-kun the day after, which yeets him back to the same day 6 years ago (oof the emo blondie days!) which is coincidentally the same day daniel asked him to join the daniel crew (yes i know it's Allied but daniel crew vibes better) but this time jay says yes because he thinks if he joined the crew, maybe daniel and his friends wouldn't die

daniel fights hudson ahn to convince him to join daniel crew, jay knows daniel can probably hold his own so he kind of sits aside with zack who's bitching about hudson, jay offhandedly mentions he's from the future and zack holds his shoulder like "bro are you okay" but that sends jay back to the future

jay wakes up in the future to find out somehow zack survived the gang fight and also saved him from truck kun, they discuss things and jay's like aight. ig we just gotta go a bit further in time and same daniel and vasco then. and then Plot Happens and jay manages to save vasco but daniel still dies at the end

More Plot Happens and we reach a crossroad for the ending:

1) happy ending jay saves daniel and actually confesses and they beat the Twobody Dilemma and get married and live happily ever after with zack and vasco as best men

2) Angst Route daniel dies in front of jay's eyes Every Single Time bc he couldn't fight the narrative
