Liệu các nền kinh tế lớn có thể bắt đầu phục hồi ổn định từ tác động của Covid-19 không?

Các nhà sản xuất lớn trên thế giới đang có những ý định gì. Chúng ta cùng tìm hiểu về chỉ số PMI sản xuất nhé.

PMI sản xuất là gì?

Chỉ số quản lý mua hàng (Purchasing Managers’ Index  – PMI) là một cuộc khảo sát được thực hiện giữa hàng trăm nhà quản lý mua hàng trong lĩnh vực sản xuất.

Họ được hỏi ý kiến ​​về việc làm, mức tồn kho, đơn đặt hàng mới, quy trình sản xuất và nhà cung ứng trong 12 tháng tới. Mục tiêu là lưu ý xem các yếu tố này có tăng hoặc giảm, cải thiện hoặc xấu đi hay không.

Chỉ số từ 50,0 trở lên cho thấy sự lạc quan ở các nhà sản xuất. Điều này có thể dẫn đến sự mở rộng ngành. Do đó, giá trị từ 49,9 trở xuống biểu thị sự bi quan và khả năng co giảm của ngành.

Các nhà giao dịch thường để ý đến PMI vì chúng hoạt động như các chỉ số hàng đầu cho lĩnh vực sản xuất, đồng thời nhiều Ngân hàng Trung ương cũng xem xét chỉ số này thực hiện các quyết định chính sách tiền tệ.

Vậy ngành sản xuất của các các nền kinh tế lớn đang hoạt động như thế nào trong năm nay? Chúng ta hãy cùng phân tích biểu đồ PMI cho từng khu vực:

Các nền kinh tế Bắc Mỹ

Chỉ số PMI Mỹ của Markit nhấn mạnh rằng sự sụt giảm chậm hơn về sản lượng, đơn đặt hàng mới và thất nghiệp đã khiến các nhà sản xuất bớt bi quan hơn trong tháng 6. Chỉ số này đã tăng từ 39,8 lên mức cao nhất trong 4 tháng là 49,6.

PMI Mỹ của ISM gọi tháng 5 là “tháng chuyển tiếp” khi những các nhà quản lý bắt đầu trở lại với công việc. Tuy nhiên, nhu cầu vẫn không chắc chắn, đó là lý do tại sao chỉ số này chỉ cải thiện từ 41,5 lên 43,1.

Mặc dù đã tăng từ 33,0 lên 40,6, nhưng chỉ số PMI tháng 5 của Canada vẫn đánh dấu mức thấp thứ hai kể từ khi cuộc khảo sát bắt đầu vào năm 2010. Markit chia sẻ rằng khu vực này “vẫn đang trên một quỹ đạo đi xuống” do thị trường nội địa và xuất khẩu giảm đã dẫn đến cắt giảm mạnh khối lượng sản xuất.

Kinh tế châu âu

PMI của Khu vực Châu Âu đạt mức cao nhất trong 4 tháng (46,9) vào tháng 6 khi sản lượng và nhu cầu chuyển từ  mức “sụp đổ” lên mức “giảm”. Tuy nhiên, các nhà quản lý “vẫn thận trọng về sức mạnh và tính bền vững của sự phục hồi”, vì những hạn chế của đại dịch vẫn tiếp tục ảnh hưởng đến doanh nghiệp.

PMI của Đức đã biểu dương sự sụt giảm chậm hơn về đơn đặt hàng, sản lượng và việc làm mới cũng như sự ổn định của thời gian giao hàng từ nhà cung cấp sau sự gián đoạn chuỗi cung ứng ở những tháng trước. Chỉ số này đã leo lên mức cao nhất trong ba tháng là 44,6, thể hiện “sự phục hồi bền vững”.

PMI của Pháp cho thấy nền kinh tế đã “qua thời kỳ bùng nổ của các ca nhiễm Covid-19” và đang “bước vào giai đoạn phục hồi”. Chỉ số này đã đạt được vùng mở rộng ở mức 52,1, đây cũng là mức cao nhất trong 21 tháng của báo cáo.

Việc mở cửa trở lại một phần của các nhà máy sản xuất đã giúp tăng chỉ số PMI Markit của Vương quốc Anh lên mức mở rộng 50,8 sau ba tháng giảm liên tiếp.

Chỉ số PMI của Thụy Sĩ đã giảm từ 43,7 xuống 42,1 vào tháng 5 ngay cả sau khi chính phủ nới lỏng các hạn chế phong toả. Chỉ số nhấn mạnh đến sự ổn định sản xuất và thị trường lao động mặc dù tình trạng “tắc nghẽn nguồn cung vẫn còn phổ biến”.

Nền kinh tế Châu Á và Châu Úc

PMI chính thức của Trung Quốc đạt mức thấp hơn một chút (nhưng vẫn mở rộng) là 50,6 vào tháng 5. Nếu xem xét kỹ hơn ta sẽ thấy nhu cầu trong nước đã dẫn đầu sự cải thiện với các đơn hàng xuất khẩu vẫn còn hợp đồng.

Chỉ số PMI của Caixin cũng cho thấy hoạt động sản xuất gia tăng trong tháng 5 mặc dù nó cho thấy rằng “sản xuất phục hồi nhanh hơn nhu cầu”.

Chỉ số PMI của Úc đã tăng từ 44,0 lên 49,8 trong tháng 6 khi ngành công nghiệp chứng kiến ​​sự giảm nhẹ trong sản lượng, đơn đặt hàng mới và xuất khẩu. Điều này khiến các nhà phân tích tin rằng Úc đã “qua thời kỳ suy thoái trong hoạt động kinh tế”.

Việc New Zealand chấm dứt các biện pháp khóa cửa cực đoan đã giúp tăng chỉ số PMI từ 25,9 lên 39,7 trong tháng 5. BusinessNZ lưu ý rằng việc nới lỏng hơn nữa các chính sách sẽ giúp tăng số lượng sản xuất trong tháng 6.

Không giống như trong hầu hết các xu hướng PMI của các nước khác, lĩnh vực sản xuất của Nhật Bản chứng kiến tình trạng ​​việc làm giảm với tốc độ nhanh hơn và sản lượng giảm với tốc độ cao nhất kể từ tháng 6/2009. Đây là một kết quả rất đáng tiếc.

Có vẻ như các nhà sản xuất hiện đang cảm thấy lạc quan sau nhiều tháng hạn chế nguồn cung và sản xuất.

Một điều quan trọng cần lưu ý khi chúng ta đọc báo cáo PMI là người trả lời đang so sánh cảm xúc của họ với tháng trước.

Việc tăng vọt từ 42,3 lên 51,0 chỉ có nghĩa là các nhà sản xuất lạc quan hơn 8,7 điểm so với tháng trước, chứ không phải hoạt động sản xuất mạnh mẽ như lần đạt được mức 51,0.

Do rất nhiều nhà sản xuất bị hạn chế hoạt động trong thời kỳ phong toả xã hội, nên việc nới lỏng hạn chế dù nhỏ nhất cũng sẽ mang đến cho họ sự lạc quan đáng kể.

Vì vậy, thay vì tập trung vào tâm lý đó, chúng ta nên xem xét các xu hướng về nhu cầu xuất khẩu, sản xuất và dịch chuyển nguồn cung để tìm ra các đầu mối trên con đường phục hồi kinh tế toàn cầu.
