gourmand, are you just straight up an alchemist? did you happen to swallow the philosopher's stone on accident??? :0
(in reference to how gourm can craft various living creatures in their campaign, which is incredibly silly :3)
"No, or at least, I don't remember swallowing anything of the sort. There's really nothing supernatural to my crafting. It's just skill and practice, and is something anyone could theoretically do.
Though I will admit that there have been a lot rumors, and while some of them underestimate my capabilities, there have been ones that hugely overplay it, too. Especially my ability to "create life". You see, I can swallow and store more than one thing at a time, and I can also store a Snail or a Noodlefly Egg. That isn't widely known, but it is known that other slugcats cannot do these things, so when others see me spit up multiple things, or 'conjure a Snail out of nowhere', they think it's me doing crafting. It's very silly, I know. Folks often go for such strange explanations for things, when the answers are so simple! Maybe I should have told them, but… I think it's more fun this way"
#this was originally supposed to mention how the myths could originate thanks to an iterator's ability to create living beings#but also how gourmand doesn't really have the necessary tools and equipment to do anything like that themselves#it's just that the script already got long - so that part didn't really make it#it was sort of unnecessary anyway#also... this is absolutely a case of a VA projecting themselves onto a character#but I don't mind it - cus it's fun and still decently fitting :3#rain world#rw ask blog#rw askblog#rw voiceover#voice acting#voiceover#rainworld#rain world ask blog#rain world askblog#rw slugcat#rain world downpour#slugcat#rain world slugcat#rw downpour#rw dp#rain world dp#rw gourmand#rain world gourmand

Personal room ranking:
1 - Outskirts: A10 (9/10) 2 - Shaded Citadel: B05 (8/10) 3 - Chimney Canopy C08 (8/10) 4 - Suburban Drifts: C01 (7/10) 5 - Outer Expanse: RUIN01 (7/10) 6 - Farm Arrays: E02 (6/10) 7 - Shoreline: MOONTOP (5/10) 8 - Outer Expanse: RUIN15 (4/10) 9 - Looks to the Moon: C13 (4/10) 10 - Silent Construct: LSENTRANCE (4/10)
Extra comment: As much as I would love to ramble about how weird it is that folks voted for the annoying room with a boatload of hostile spawns, I think this one is honestly fair. It largely helps that C08 is very close to a shelter, but it also has a neat design that makes both combat and avoidance fun.
Anyways, with this one, we don't need to cover as many rooms, as the only one I have on my list is C01 of Suburban Drifts.
And I honestly don't feel like there's too much to comment on here. It's a (usually) peaceful room with ok platforming, where the grapple can actually come in quite handy, and there's food that's decently fun to grab, I guess. Sure, it does miss the opportunity to tease Undergrowth by having a little extra plant life there, compared to the Outskirts, but B14SAINT is still there, and the snowy atmosphere does work very well here, especially with those light green plants.
As for the bonus rooms, a lot of the regions from this poll don't have any left on my list, so now, we're only doing it for 2. One of which, is:
B05 of Chimney Canopy, also known as 'that one room where Wind Chimes blocks out the Threat music, but you don't mind, cus it's Wind Chimes'. As for its design, it is mostly fine, but it did have the unfortunate fate of being shoved into an area that's filled with a bunch of rooms that are way more memorable than it. But it's still a solid room that holds up just fine, to which I'd easily give a 6/10 for, maybe even a 7 if I'm in a CC mood that day.
And the second one is C04 from Shaded Citadel, which is so far the only room where I feel like I had to leave the geometry on for the screenshot, to make sure the room wouldn't be a black blob where you couldn't see anything (to be frank, I was always wondering why this poll was so random with the usage of the Geometry feature for the screenshots..… safe to say, I completely get it now (also, I'm truly sorry for the mobile users, but I really don't know what I could have done here xd)). But what about the actual room? Well, it might surprise some, but I absolutely love this thing! The platforming can be a bit tricky to figure out, and execute properly, but the punishment for failure is very light, so it never becomes tedious or unfun. And the Coalescipedes and the Lantern Mice and the Scavengers add a good bit of chaos to it, too (but the fun kind, not the frustrating one that you'll usually see in regions like Subterranean). Oh, and the aesthetics are lovely as well, especially with how different the top and the bottom parts of the room look, and how it's reflected in the layout that you'll have to interact with. I don't care what anyone says, this room is an amazing 9/10, and it's a real shame that it didn't make it through. This truly feels fitting for a region that has "Shaded" and "Citadel" in its name.
Pick Your Favorite Rain World Room, Day 209.1 R2
This is not single elimination! Every room with at least 15.0% vote will move on to the next round.
There is a hidden slugcat in one of the rooms (they can be in any color). If u can see it comment or reblog with where they are and if u are first, u get a cookie!

Congratulations for day 208.1 winners!
