Hey, SWTOR folks-
If you’re doing conquest this week, every ping of all of the Life Day quests (decos and parcels) counts as a unique quest completion toward the highest point value conquest goal.
Which is how I spent 30 minutes shooting snowball rockets at robots (I need that horrible ugly hat, okay?) and then realized I had 480,000 conquest points.

Walk Her Down the Aisle
Word Count: 3.4 K. Listen, once I got started it just snowballed.
Pairing: Joe Mazzello x OFC
Summary: The wedding of Joe and Rowyn
If anyone wants to see what the dress and headpiece I had in mind look like, let me know
“You ready for this little man?” Ben asked, tickling Joey. As he giggled uncontrollably Ben looked over at Gwilym who was fixing Joe’s tie.
“You guys think going with a jacket was a good idea? It’s hot out today.” Joe said, adjusting his jacket. Rami shook his head from where he sat, waiting. He and Joe’s brother were ready to go, but Ben and Gwilym were still getting ready while helping wrangle Joey and get Joe ready.
“Nervous?” John asked Joe.
“Maybe a tad.” Joe gave a one-sided smile as Joey walked over to him. Even
though he had been walking for a few months now, Joey was still a little wobbly on his legs. Joe leaned over and picked up Joey, who pointed at the door. “Yep bud, it’s time to go.”
“Mama.” Joey said.
“Yep Joey, we’re going to go see mama.” With a toothy grin Joey clapped his hands together. Joe made his way to the door followed by Rami and John, turning back to smile at Gwilym and Ben.
“Come on mate, you’re marrying the woman of your dreams. Relax. Everything will be alright, and your best men will be there to make sure everything goes smoothly. Joe let out a laugh.
“Yeah, you’ll be there. If you guys can ever get ready in time. If not I’ll have to tell Rowyn why I’m short two groomsmen.”
“We will be ready, don’t worry. Give us ten minutes.” Joe nodded at Gwilym’s words and made his way out.
As Ben and Gwil were getting ready Ben’s phone dinged. He went over and read the text. Bring Joey’s diaper bag will you. My idiot self forgot it. And can you bring a book for him. It’ll keep him occupied. “Joe needs Joey’s diaper bag. And a book.”
“A book? We don’t have time to go rummage through Joey’s room and find a book. We’re late as is.” Gwilym said. Ben looked around him and spotted Joey’s diaper bag. “Here.” Gwilym threw a book his way. “Come on, we need to leave.” Ben nodded at Gwilym’s words and put the book in the diaper bag before heading out.
Rowyn closed her eyes and took a deep breath in. “You nervous?” Kinsley asked. Opening her eyes Rowyn shook her head.
“No. Actually this is the least nervous and anxious I’ve been in a long time.” Kinsley and the rest of the bridesmaids smiled at Rowyn’s words as they waited to walk down the aisle. “More excited than anything.”
“Well, you look lovely. And I love that the dress shows off your tattoo love.” Rowyn smiled, looking down at the dress she was wearing. “And your hair looks fabulous.” Reaching up Rowyn’s fingers glossed over the hair piece in her brown curls.
“Thank you Lucy.”
“Okay everyone, it’s time.” The wedding planner clapped her hands together, and everyone got into place. Rowyn looked over at her dad and smiled.
“If I fall dad will you catch me?” Rowyn asked.
“Rowbear, you know I’ll either fall with you or laugh at you.” Rowyn gave a slight chuckle and nodded. “But I know you’ll be fine.” her dad kissed her on her cheek.
“You’re right. Thanks dad.”
“I love you Rowyn.”
“I love you too dad.” Rowyn said, taking a deep breath as the doors closed and they got into place. When the Cannon began the doors opened back up and Rowyn and her dad began their walk down the aisle. Her breath caught as she saw Joe, a beaming smile covering his face. Then she heard Joey crying and looked over to see him struggling out of Gennie, his nonna’s arms.
“Mama.” Joey said as he made his way to where Rowyn and her dad were in the aisle. Rowyn handed the bouquet she was holding on to her father and leaned down to scoop Joey up.
“Hello Joey.” Rowyn said, adjusting Joey on her hip and taking her bouquet back. Her father put his hand in the crook of her elbow as they continued to walk down the aisle. Rowyn looked at Joe as they made their way down the aisle again, Joey with his grin, Rowyn with a smile plastered on her face. She saw Joe holding a hand up to his mouth, hiding a laugh. Rowyn held back the urge to tell him to go ahead and laugh, instead she just continued to make her way to him. When they had arrived, Rowyn’s dad kissed Rowyn on the cheek and reached out for Joey. Joey shook his head into Rowyn’s neck, holding tight to Rowyn. “It’s okay dad, I’ve got him for now.” she smiled and he nodded.
Halfway through the vows Joey reached out for Joe, who, with a smirk, took him. With relief, Rowyn gave her vows, taking Joe’s free left hand in her own, placing a ring on his finger. When they kissed Joey reached over again for Rowyn, who took him back into her arms. “That lasted long.” Joe said into her ear. Rowyn giggled as she moved Joey to her right hip.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to introduce you to Mr and Mrs. Joseph
Mazzello.” Joe raised her left hand as the crowd cheered. As they made their way back down the aisle, Joey reached up, taking a hold of the headpiece in Rowyn’s hair. He pulled at it and Rowyn let go of Joe’s hand, reaching up and taking out the hair piece to show it to Joey. He reached for it and Rowyn shook her head.
“No Joey, mama’s.” Fat tears began to roll down Joey’s cheeks as he began to cry. They made their way out to where the pictures were going to be, Joey began to cry hysterically.
“Ro, just give it to him honey.”
“I’m not going to Joe.” Rowyn said, handing the headpiece to Kinsley.
“I’ll buy you a new one if it’s that important to you.”
“That’s not the point Joe. The point is, just because Joey is crying doesn’t mean that he should get what he wants. Where is his diaper bag?”
“Oh, I’ll go get it.” Ben said, running off. When he came back Rowyn rummaged through the bag, finding Joey’s favorite toy, a dinosaur that roared. When she pressed the button to make the sound Joey paused his crying, staring at the dinosaur. He looked at Rowyn, then Joe before reaching out for the plushie. Rowyn pushed the button again and Joey lit up with laughter.
“He needs changed too.” Rowyn said.
“Let me do it hon, I don’t want your dress to get anything on it.” Joe said, grabbing the bag and slinging it over his shoulder before reaching out for Joey, who was too preoccupied with his dinosaur to notice that Joe had picked him out of Rowyn’s arms.
When Joe came back, he was smiling, same as Joey. “Good as new.” He said, sitting the bag to the side. They took photos and made their way to the reception. “I get what you were saying Rowyn.” Joe said as they drove to the reception.
“About what, Joey?”
“Yeah. I don’t want him to grow up to be spoiled.” Rowyn looked behind her at Joey in his car seat.
“With our families he will be. But I don’t plan to spoil him.”
“I’ll try not to spoil him.” Joe smiled. “Luckily I have you to keep me level headed.”
“Joe, you are probably one of the most level headed people I know.”
“But I want to give my kid the world.”
“Joe, I know you do but that doesn’t mean you have to give him everything he asks for. Teach him what you know. Give him knowledge and wisdom.” Joe nodded. “Instead of my headpiece which he could have choked on.” Joe parked and looked over at Rowyn. She placed her hand on his cheek, rubbing her thumb along his cheekbone. “You ready?” She asked. Joe nodded and got out, getting Joey out of his car seat.
“That is why I love you.”
“Why?”
“Because you are the sensible one in this relationship.” Rowyn chuckled and took Joe’s hand. Joey looked up at Joe and reached for his tie. “No Joey.” Joey began to cry and Rowyn shook her head, trying not to laugh.
“Spoiled by the grandparents. We need to tell them not to. I get that they want to but it sure doesn’t help that we tell him no when he’s with us but they tell him yes when he’s with them.”
“Then we look like the bad guys.” Rowyn nodded. “Here comes your mom.” Gennie walked up to Rowyn and Joe, smiling at Joey.
“I figured I would take him so you guys can walk in as a married couple.” Rowyn smiled.
“Thanks mom.” Joe said. Joey hesitantly looked at Gennie. “You wanna go to nonna?” Joe asked Joey. He looked over at Gennie hesitating for a moment before reaching out for her.
“Now it’s time for the cutting of the cake.” the emcee said.
“Come my love.” Joe said as they stood. He lead her to where the cake was. After cutting a piece and then cutting that piece in half Joe held the plate up to Rowyn. “Ready?” He asked, a mischievous glint in his eye.
“You wouldn’t dare.” Joe smirked at Rowyn’s words as he lifted his piece and she took hers in her own hand. As he slowly put the cake up to Rowyn’s face and she did the same with hers Rowyn began to wonder if he was actually going to smash the cake in her face like she expected him to. Then, out of nowhere, the cake was smashed into her face, espresso frosting coating her nose and lips, her chin and even some getting on the side of her cheek when she turned her head. She laughed and smashed her piece into his face. He just stood there proudly as she laughed, licking the cream from his lips. “Here.” Rowyn said, kissing his nose. “You missed some.”
“So did you.” Joe said as he kissed her lips. When he pulled back the frosting that was on Rowyn’s nose had transferred to Joe’s cheek.
“We must be a sight.” Rowyn laughed, taking her index finger and wiping away the frosting from Joe’s cheek.
“A wonderful sight.” Joe said. Rowyn felt a tug on her dress and looked down to see Joe’s niece Leah standing at her feet.
“Auntie Ro, can I have some cake?”
“Of course you can Leah bug, but you have to promise not to smash it in anyone’s face.” Rowyn said. Leah nodded earnestly as Joe went over to the cake that they had chosen for the kids, chocolate with chocolate frosting. When Joe had the plate of cake Rowyn offered her hand to Leah, who took it and followed Joe to her seat. When Leah was situated Rowyn and Joe made their way back to the table with the cake and wiped the remainder of the frosting off. They got a small piece each and made their way back to where the bridal party was. As they did they saw Gwilym holding Joey and Ben holding a book. When they had made their way to the table they saw that the book was Go The Fuck to Sleep. Joey’s eyes were heavy with sleep as Ben read the words, Gwilym rocking Joey slightly. Rowyn heard Joe laugh at the book, and she had to hold back a laugh herself, knowing that they had promised themselves not to read the book to Joey for fear of his first word being fuck.
“We were running late mate, this was the only book we saw.” Ben said looking up at Joe and Rowyn’s amused expressions.
“It’s all good.” Joe said, trying to suppress more laughter. “My mom will be over soon to take him for the night.”
“It’s not time for the party to end is it?” Gwilym asked, checking the time. Joe shook his head.
“I mean for Joey it is, but no, for the rest of us it’s not. We have a lot more embarrassing dancing to do.”
“You stepped on my dress once babe, it’s okay. We should have practiced more.” Rowyn said, squeezing his hand. “And I thought they had pinned it up completely. They missed a section. We had a good laugh.”
“We did, didn’t we?” Joe chuckled.
“Especially when you leaned over to try and figure out how to pin it. In the middle of the dance.”
“Well, why don’t we try again?”
“Let me get Kinsley. She needs to pin my train up so you don’t step on it again.” Joe gave a sheepish grin.
By the end of the night, after being surrounded by a lot of people, and getting congratulations galore, she was ready for it to just be her and Joe. She glanced over at him, telling a story to her brother by the look of it (his hands were moving madly, he had to be telling a story) then he laughed and she couldn’t help herself. Even though she wasn’t near him, she laughed. Joe’s laugh was contagious and Rowyn could do nothing but laugh when she heard his laugh. “What’s so funny?” Kinsley asked her. Rowyn looked over at her sister before glancing back at Joe.
“Nothing. I’m just so incredibly happy.” Shaking her head, Kinsley hugged her.
“I’m glad for you. After everything, I know that you are going to be happy with Joe. He’s great.” With that Kinsley made her way to her husband. Rowyn made her way to Joe and her brother Grayson.
“Hey baby, what’s up?” Rowyn shrugged at Joe’s question.
“Nothing, just came to see you.”
“Ugh, I don’t think Nola and I were this bad at our wedding.” Rowyn took her eyes off of Joe for a minute to look at her brother.
“No, you two were worse.” Rowyn said before she chuckled and entered Joe’s embrace.
“Speaking of Nola, I’m going to check on her.” Grayson said as he walked away.
“How are you wife?” Joe asked, kissing her cheek.
“I’m happy, how are you husband?” Rowyn leaned her head on Joe’s shoulder, sighing contentedly as Joe ran his fingers up and down her back.
“I’m amazing. Wishing I had you all to myself though.”
“What time is it?”
“Late. We should go check on Joey.” Joe stopped running his fingers up her back and Rowyn gave a deep breath before nodding. They made their way over to where Gwilym was holding a sleeping Joey.
“I guess the book put Joey to sleep.” Rowyn ran her fingers softly over his light auburn hair.
“I know you guys didn’t want to read him that book.” Gwilym said. “But he enjoyed it.”
“Yes, he did, didn’t he?” Joe looked down at his sleeping son. “Have you seen Ben?”
“He’s over there.” Gwilym nodded over to where Ben was talking to a girl who was obviously flirting with him. “People don’t know he’s in a relationship.”
“It’s too bad his girlfriend couldn’t make it.” Rowyn glanced over and saw Gennie making her way over.
“Looks like the party is winding down. Is it time for you two to head out?” Gwilym asked.
“Soon.” Joe said. “We wanted to come and say goodnight to Joey, but it looks like he’s already sleeping.” Joe smirked as he looked down at Joey.
“I see my date is already asleep.” Gennie smiled.
“Yep mom.”
“Better get him home. And here he was supposed to make sure that I stayed awake.”
“You’ll be good to get back right?”
“I’ll be fine Joseph.” Gennie patted his cheek. Gennie turned to Rowyn and hugged her. “Welcome officially to the family Rowyn.”
“Thank you Gennie.”
“Oh, I almost forgot, this is for you.” Gennie took an envelope out of her bag and handed it to Rowyn.
“Thank you.” Rowyn said with a final hug before Gennie picked up Joey’s diaper bag before gently lifting him out of Gwilym’s arms. After Gennie and Joey had left, Rowyn and Joe sat and watched the rest of the guests at the reception.
“Rowyn?” Joe asked, lifting her hand to his lips.
“Hmmmm?” Joe kissed her knuckles.
“Do you think they would notice if we head out?” Rowyn chuckled before shaking her head.
“I think they are having too much fun. Come on. Lets sneak out.” Rowyn said. Joe helped Rowyn stand before they silently made their way to the door. “Shit.” Rowyn silently cursed after they had made it to the car. “The envelope your mom had given me.”
“I’ll go grab it.” Joe opened the car door for her, handing her the keys before turning and making his way back into the reception hall. After starting the car, Rowyn turned on the overhead light, looking down at the wedding ring on her left ring finger. Sure, she had signed a marriage license a week before they had gotten married but it hadn’t felt finalized until they had their family and friends with them to celebrate it. She took the engagement ring off of her right ring finger and put it back on her left before turning the light overhead off and waiting for Joe.
After twenty minutes, Rowyn turned off the car and made her way back into the hall, looking for Joe. First she made her way into where the reception hall was. She found Ben and Gwilym but not Joe. Walking up to them she tapped Gwilym on the shoulder. “Have you guys seen Joe?”
“He grabbed some letter and headed out.”
“Oh, he hasn’t come to the car.” Rowyn mused. She turned and made her way to the door. “Maybe he went back out to the car? But I would have passed him…” she entered the hall and began heading back to the car.
“Who are you looking for?” Rowyn stopped at Joe’s voice.
“You actually. You didn’t come back to the car, I thought something happened to you.” Joe held the letter up for her.
“I read this. I mean, it was addressed to you but…”
“You know curiosity killed the cat right?” Joe smiled.
“Yeah… Anyway, I just needed a minute is all.”
“Are you okay?” Joe shrugged.
“I guess? I mean, it’s in my mom’s handwriting, but it’s from my dad. It must have been written before he died. Here. Read it.” Rowyn took the letter from him and hesitated.
“Joe, I know that you wanted your dad here on your wedding day, I’m sorry that he wasn’t. But I know how proud he was of you, about as proud as you were to be his son.” With a heavy sigh she unfolded the letter.
Rowyn,
I am sorry that I can’t be here, but I know that you are the one that is going to marry Joseph. I see how happy he is with you, how you make him smile… you two were made for each other. I’m glad that I met you before... Anyways, You keep him calm,
Rowyn smiled, wiping away tears that had begun to fall before continuing to read.
And he keeps you crazy. You two are like yin and yang. I hope you have a long and happy life together filled with love and laughter. Don’t forget to lean on each other and trust each other. I hope when you have children they will be raised to love life and be as accepting and amazing as Joseph is. I don’t know you as much as I would have liked to, but when I did meet you I saw that you had a love of others, a kindness that transcends beyond anything. You are loyal and love kids. You make Joseph laugh, which is hard to do. Love him unconditionally, as he, I know, loves you. As everyone in the family loves you. Thank you for helping Joey see who he can be as a person. How great he is. How love is never lost. Welcome to the family Rowyn.
Joe Mazzello Jr.
Rowyn folded the letter up, wiping away tears. “Well.” She smiled, framing Joe’s face before leaning in to kiss him. “I’m so glad I married you.”
“And I’m so glad I married you,” Joe kissed away the tears that had fallen before capturing her lips in a kiss. “You ready to go home?” Rowyn took his hand and nodded, following him out to the car.
