Update: Minji

The song Minji had been humming could be heard throughout the whole house. Something had made her so happy that day she wasn't able to contain herself. "Maybe just one more right there," she said softly to herself as she arranged the fresh flowers in the vase on her desk. The same way she did in the kitchen, the bathroom, the living room, the hallway, the window ledge and her bedroom dresser and nightstand.

"What's gotten into you? You sound like a Disney princess," Taeyong teased from her office door. "Where did all of these flowers come from?" The man leaned against the door frame and examined the neat office. "It looks nice in here. Bright and cheerful. Very you." Minji only continued with the flowers and smiled. "Minzy," he sang, "You have to tell me." Pouting his lips he made sad puppy sounds, knowing she would give in.

"Do you remember the notes I've been getting?" She said behind a smile. "Welln the same guy sent me all of these beautiful flowers. Look at them TY! Plus there are more outside still." She gripped a few flowers to her chest and smiled from ear to ear. "This is so sweet. I think he really likes me." Spinning around, the love sick girl started humming her song again.

"So you've met the guy? He's not some creep?" Taeyong asked. He loved his friend dearly and couldn't stand the idea of her being hurt. "Minji? Hello? Earth to Minji," he said firmer and touched her arm.

"Not exactly but I can tell he's a nice guy. Really sweet," she said over her shoulder. "I really like him, TY. What if it's, ya know, meant to be? I've never felt like this before and I haven't even met him!"

"Minji, sweetie, you can't go around falling in love with any man that write you notes and sends you flowers," he said gently. As he perched on her desk, he knew she wasn't listening. She was far too gone for him to reach. "Just be careful. You spend so much time looking after us. I wish you'd stop and do it for yourself. I'm meeting a new friend later. Call me if you need anything."

Despite her humming and preoccupied mind, she heard her friend's concerns and made note of them in her head. "He just doesn't understand," she pouted to herself. "He doesn't know him like I do. He wouldn't hurt me. He wants to protect me and make me happy. Why shouldn't I be happy? I deserve it. I deserve him."

That night Minji showered and dressed for bed in her room. She sat at her vanity and brushed her hair. It was hard for her to take her eyes off of the flower bouquet on the corner. Taking the time to sort through and pick her favorite flowers may have take her most of the afternoon but it was worth it. The vase was filled with her favorite flower he sent her. A special gift that she could look and think about him.

As her head rested on her pillow she smiled softly. Her fingers traced the delicate petals of the perfect blooms. "Good night," she whispered. "I guess this is as close as I get to be to you. For now."
