just watched Amanda the Jedi's video about it and man, the cabin at the end of the world 🤝 horns: books that clearly state that if there is a God that causes horrible things to happen, it's the right thing to do to say fuck that God and his plans, which got movie adaptations that were like nooooo let's remove all of that God is fantastic actually ignore all the bad things

#like knock at the cabin is waaaay more extensively loathsome #what with the whole 'gay people should suffer for all the homophobes in the world they're just confused and scared :)#also if god is demanding you murder a member of your family to stop the apocalypse you should just do it don't you want to save the world?'#but horns was so THOROUGH and shittily dumb about its changes #(fire sermon removal!! the very white angelic villain is now a mixed race guy with no connection to God! instead of Ig being #healed by fire he gets Horribly Disfigured until a cross fixes him! it's so bad!!)#but yeah i have nothing against stories where God is a good dude or it's ambiguous or w/e #but if a story says 'Fuck God' let that stand instead of ruining it oh my god #anyway can we PLEASE stop m night from making movies #vic talks
