tessa felt restless that night. tossing and turning on the bed after soothing the four-year-old child who clung to her after a nightmare. she felt like she was spreading herself thin, and while she didn't want to demand things she had absolutely no reason whatsoever for demanding, she knew she was approaching her breaking point and it wouldn't be pretty for any party involved. while he was at work, she spent the best part of the day looking at her suitcases, that penthouse felt like a home most of the time, but with the wedding approaching and with him not telling her if he would be doing anything about it, she felt more of a bother in a stranger's house, an actual employee, than part of the family as she had foolishly believing to be. but a crying four-year-old made her change her mind and her plans. despite her problems with their father, she couldn't leave them.

losing another battle with her brain, she got up, wrapping herself in her robe, and went towards the kitchen, reaching for the box of cereal on the top shelf before getting a bowl and some milk. sugar might be the last thing she needed, but aside from prescription medication, she hardly thought anything would help her. she had taken a seat by the time the front door opened and closed, denouncing his arrival at—almost three am. she sighed, feeling her stomach anticipating his approach. her eyes went to him as he entered the kitchen, the air suddenly felt dense. "long day?" she asked before returning her attention to the cereal and putting a spoonful in her mouth. "kid had a nightmare not long before you arrived, i think they're sleeping again now."

WANTED DETAILS: Tessa and her husband met when Tessa was three years old or at least that’s when her first memory of him takes place. With both their parents in the same circle of friends Tessa and her husband ended up spending a lot of time together. As the years passed they found that they had a great deal in common and slowly became best friends. Once they reach adulthood their parents (believing that they were dating) start to discuss them getting married. They both tried to make their parents see that they were just friends, but their parents never listened or at least Tessa’s never did. A wedding date was set but got canceled once her husband was deployed. They stayed in contact during his deployment, and he broke the news that their parents were still trying to have them get married. In one of his letters, he suggested that they do get married in order for Tessa to get out from under her parents’ thumbs and go to college. Tessa hesitated at first but went along with the plan in the end. They married when Tessa was 20 and right away moved to California to live on an Army base. Around six months later her husband was deployed again and just under a year afterwards he was injured in combat. Upon his return to the states, they both confessed their love for each other. They would continue to live in California until 2017 which is when they returned to Merrick with one kid in toe and another soon to be born. As of today they have a four beautiful children.

workplace angst. i have been watching too much greys tbh, but i love the dynamics of people who have demanding jobs and work a lot and the job and their coworkers are basically like all they really have going on. would be cool as a mumu, but fine as a solo plot too

angst avenue. something super angsty like this because i am a masochist. honestly anything super heartwrenching i’m probably all about.

ghosts. idk just haunting, maybe someone falls in love with a ghost. love a spooky romance. or like ghost hunters? i’ve been wanting to try out some more horror-esque stuff.

secret relationships. who doesn’t love a secret relationship? maybe you are my best friend’s ex that he’s still hung up on but we are really good together.

ASSASSINS. we love a good assassins plot. and they don’t kill each other because, well, they are in love. maybe they used to work on the same side and one of them defected?? ugh idk just give me some badasses with drama and lots of love.

Dream vacation? I’ve always really wanted to go to Nepal and go to Everest. Not climb it. Just like...see it. I would never climb it. Are you kidding? But Nepal looks beautiful, and I’d love to go. I’d also love to go to Australia or New Zealand or the Philippines, and I think mostly those are such dream vacations because I know I’d never survive that flight, so I think about it a lot. 

Dream car? The only car I’ve ever felt some degree of passion for is a mini cooper, so I’ll say that. Though I test drove one and it stalled as I was getting off the highway, so like...not the best impression lmao.

Favourite food? Burritos. Any kind of burritos, but specifically from this mexican place in my hometown that I love. 

Drink of choice? Seltzer water. I’m def one of those people. Though coffee is pretty high up there. And those Crisp Pear Red Bulls are fucking delicious. 

Instruments? Once I taught myself how to play the Rohan theme from the Two Towers on my keyboard by ear, and that’s the extent of any musical talent I’ve ever had.

Languages? English, with a bit of French and Spanish. I was actually a French minor in college, which is hilarious, because I know more Spanish than French now. 

Celebrity crushes? Definitely Nikolaj Coster Waldau. Oscar Isaac. Tessa Thompson. 

Random facts? One time I wrote a book report on Don Quixote in the 6th grade, which I picked out of the middle school library because it was the longest book and we were only allowed to take out one book a week. As a fast reader, i thought I was a genius to pick the longest book so that I could get the most use out of it. My teacher assumed my mom wrote the book report and we both got called into the office and the principal accused me of cheating and it SUCKED

Another fun one is that I’m terrified of flying, and only DESPERATELY wanting to go places can get me on a plane. 2 of the last 3 times I’ve flown have been to go watch FC Barcelona play.

Rn I only rp on tumblr. But I do occasionally rp on discord too with people I know. I used to rp on Facebook before and honestly, those were much better times when writing had the upper hand and not edits and aesthetics and resources. I truly miss it.

8. How many muses have you played on tumblr that you can remember?

I don’t really create as many new characters as I used to anymore. On tumblr, I can only remember around twenty muses in various verses, not including canons.

4 or 5 probably. Right now, I am only in two. 

12. Who are some popular faceclaims you just don’t like?

I am not a fan of most actors from the TVD and its spin offs. Riverdale too. Also I really don’t like the 13RW fcs but that’s mostly coz it’s in someway or other triggering to me.

14. Who are some of your favorite overused faceclaims?

Actually, most fcs I am super fond of are underused or like medium used at the most lol. Sean Teale was used a bit when The Gifted was all over tumblr but now he’s not used as much I feel. And rn, Trevino is getting more attention than before coz of RNM but he’s still not ‘overused’ ya know? I do like using Matthew Daddario though. So sue me lol. Also, Lucy Hale is queen.

Can’t remember exactly. 6 years? 7? Idek lol. 

18. What is your favorite plot you’ve played out?

Everything to do with Stefan and his sister Gabrielle is my favourite thing ever. I especially was super fond of the time when he tried his best to help her when she was struggling with her eating disorder. He can be a horrible person but he’s a good brother. 

20. What is the most cringeworthy plot/character you have ever played out?

I personally always found it hard to write when Stefan manipulated people to trust him or fall in love with him and then used them for whatever reasons. Like writing his way of thinking during those times is just ugh for me. Some of my other characters like Elijah and Zade did like way more gruesome things but Stefan does things hiding behind the ‘good guy’ facade and it is revolting for me.

Why hello there Anonymous! :D Thanks for the ask!!

Thanks for much for the compliment! I’m glad you’re loving Tessa. Her face claim is Greer Grammer (yes, Kelsey Grammer’s daughter). Tessa’s inspiration is from Greer’s character in Awkward. 

I don’t know if I can get to writing the story any time soon. My best friend would kill me if I did that (right Cath?). I’m trying to focus on Mercy Me as it’s my priority for the time being, but if I need a break, then possibly I’ll dabble in Words Don’t Come Easy. 

Headcanons you say? Don’t mind if I do! They will be after the break (just in case others haven’t seen the movie yet…which I highly recommend!!!!). I’ll give you a bit since I don’t plan on working on the story yet! 

Freddy first meets Tessa at the beginning of their freshman year (since she is new to the district after attending a different middle school) and he has had a crush on her since (they are seniors in my story).

Tessa used to have a crush on Billy Batson when he first arrives and that is how she comes to know of Freddy, who would stammer whenever she said hi to Billy during passing periods (safe to say for Freddy, she doesn’t anymore!).

They have at least one class each year together and they would always be assigned next to or near each other (Freddy calls it luck of the draw during small talk and Tessa usually asks him for his name).  

Freddy has tripped Tessa several times a lot with his crutch, much to his horror. 

Tessa and Freddy are paired together in Chemistry their junior year because of Freddy’s poor grades (since Tessa is one of the smarter students). 

Tessa develops a crush on Freddy midway through their junior year due to tutoring sessions at his home Friday nights. She likes how he’s so passionate about his hobbies and is loving with his family (something she doesn’t have with hers). 

Tessa notices the little things about Freddy during their tutoring sessions. Such include: how Freddy twirls his pencil around his fingers when he’s stuck on a problem, how much taller he became since freshman year when he stands next to her, how much he gestures whenever Tessa brings up one of his obsessions, how brown his eyes are when they make eye contact, etc. 

Freddy notices Tessa’s change in behavior when she starts walking up to him to say hi during passing periods, in which he replies with stammers and gawking, wondering if this is one of his dreams. Tessa usually leaves confused, but a little enamored with how flustered he gets. 

When Tessa and Brett become a couple at the end of junior year (because Tessa doesn’t think her feelings for Freddy are really genuine, more along the lines of ‘caught up in the moment’), Freddy steps aside because of the typical high school status quo they follow (she’s popular and he isn’t as much), but he still likes her very much.
