i am once again thinking abt opal telling the spider queen that she doesn’t want power, she just wants her sister
#like the entire vestige storyline had an iron grip on me bc it felt like it was leading up to a corruption arc#like which of the party will turn to evil for immense power#and for it instead to become opal putting the crown on#not caring abt the power it would give her#but bc it would be the only thing that could save her sister#it breaks my heart! it breaks my heart.#like i feel like we saw opal change so much and we saw her go through so much#and like ik on twitter aimee talked abt how she made opal young and very new to adventuring#bc it felt right bc of it being her first time playing dnd#but i feel like exu s1 being the first time opal has ever really gone out on her own is such a huge part of her story#bc she really is this 19yo girl who was so excited to finally be her own person only to be faced with such hardship#and like i’m nervous abt what the crown could do to her but also esp between episodes 6-8 we saw her grow so much#that i don’t think opal will lean into whatever evilness the crown has#like idk i just love opal a lot#with her like. daphne from scooby do/popular girl energy with. so many layers underneath.#like rewatching episode 1 her excitement to be out of her town is so ‘teenager goes to college and is on their own for the first time’#and it’s so charming#and then we learn abt how opal has wanted to be her own person but felt tied down to ted#AND THEN WE SEE OPAL SACRIFICE EVERYTHING FOR HER SISTER#like the differences between ‘isnt it nice to be alone sometimes?’ and the opal we saw in the finale……#thank aimee for aimee#exu#exu spoilers
