i think about the failure of the four wedding and a funeral anthology more than i care to admit.
#its something that should have been Good and it was Not#fascinated by what kaling does not say#bc i dont think she ever really talks about it#or references it the way she does to say the office or tmp or slocg and nhie#and the fact that richard curtis was listed in the anthology as a producer....plus that kaling was approached to make it#it wasnt something that was her idea--a passion project#based on tmp i never got the strong impression that she like the richard curtis\hugh grant romcoms#yes she likes bridget jones but thats not a hugh grant romom#like i do think there must have been some behind the scenes beef what curtis wanted versus what kaling wanted#and also i dont think she was as hands on either#bc shes only credited for writing the first ep (which is the most solid introductory ep)#idk it just continues to bother me that it wasnt good#bc the movie isnt amazing by today's standards but you definitely could have built something better from it#at times it felt like richard curtis movie reference checklist#which is unfortunate#again--i totally think there was beef#but i'll never know bc kaling despite being on social media--it often tightlipped about things
