Something that kills me about q!Charlie is that he really wasn’t a good parent. At first.

It’s canon that he doesn’t come from a great household, and it’s obvious that he was trying.

He didn’t know how to parent, and the early days of Juanaflippa and Charlie were ROUGH to say the least!

And then he was getting better, there was a turning point in his parenting, for the better!

And then she died.

I wonder if part of the reason why Charlie has had such a visceral reaction to Flippa’s death (between trying to kill the other eggs, eggzile, just his general awful mental health and coping mechanisms), was because she was deprived from the life she deserved, the life Charlie and Mariana, after everything happened, after Charlie realized he wasn’t a good parent and was doing his best to become better and was on the way to that, were going to give her.

She was taken away, after everything, and now she will never get the life, the nice happy life, that she would have been given, that she deserved.

Charlie was mad at himself, for failing as a father (even if it wasnt his fault), and for not giving Juanaflippa the life she rightfully deserved.

Maybe the reason Zahn hasn’t written more from Thrawn’s point of view is because Thrawn’s POV is an absolute bitch to write.

Writing fics for the Table is so wild because it’s like:

Am I writing fanfictions about personifications of US states? Yes.

Do I also somehow relate to a lot of these characters on a really deep level? Also yes.

But like, that doesn’t remove the absolute wildness of my documents being filled with the names of states…

For Lae'zel it would probably be a cowardly, adorable princess of a bard who's deathly afraid of chipping a nail.

Astarion's would probably be a noble and righteous paladin, but honestly that's a pretty popular pairing for him.

But for Wyll and Karlach? Like I don't really wanna make an EVIL character to romance them, unless I let them redeem me. Like I guess I could just play as some evil bastard and then slowly let the goodness in them purge me and... and... *eyes unfocus* and uh... w-what was I talking about?

No because I will die on this hill. If you want me to hate a character because they’re evil and have done awful things, then DO NOT give them devoted lover/spouse backstories or characteristics.
