I saw this thread in reddit titled: “I’ll read that wip when it’s complete” yeah, except hardly anybody actually does

I felt that lol. And I like the disclaimers that authors aren’t owed engagement yes yes we know and everybody can read whatever they want whenever they want

#but at the same time you can understand where most authors are coming from #they work so hard on their stories #post them #and then they receive little to no feedback #that is demoralizing and I felt that a few years back as well #but nothing could be more demoralizing now than work AYEEEEEEE #point being is that it takes a long time for authors to move past that #so if you have a story you like just give it support #a simple i like this comes a long way for authors #but again you are not obligated #but at the same time some positive vibes go a long way
