sorry, but I love the "set entirely within Lumiose city" announcement. That only increased the hype for me. I love a good, fleshed-out city to wander in. But mostly, to me, that indicates a change in the usual formula, which is really intriguing. Yeah, there's the question of where we'll get wild pokemon - which then raises the question of whether that even will be the same old mechanic we're used to. Or will something else be going on this game? Without a region to fill, how in-depth in the city can they get and what will we be doing?

seeing negative reviews of DA02:TB when i thought it was one of the best recent digimon movies ever really goes to show how subjective all of this is, but also I need to stop searching through the digimon tag for now because all of the negativity is making me feel sad

i'm reading about the riverdale finale and finding out that all four main characters had a "quad" relationship at the end of high school where they were all dating each other... and that's not even the finale there's a timewarp where it goes 67 years in the future and they give everyone boring epilogue endings and they all die peacefully in old age. um... wig?

My favorite interactive novel so far has gotta be Breach: The Archangel Job, which is basically a campy goofy action heist game. The main selling point is just that it's fun as hell, but my personal favorite feature is the fact you can be nonverbal for nearly every dialogue scene and the characters just roll with it. It's such a simple addition, but it's such a euphoric experience for mute folks like me, to be able to properly project myself into my character in this role-playing game. There's no penalties for it and none of the characters treat you any different, they're just like "yeah he doesn't talk much."
I really truly think that customization is one of the most crucial elements of an rpg, arguably even more important than the quality of the story, yet it's so often overlooked. It's not just about where the story goes, it's about self-expression.

i’m rewatching aot and seeing how fluid and dynamically composed the shots are really makes you feel how stilted and static mha is. i know they’re two completely different shows but especially this season, mha has felt very still, the characters not really moving, the shot not really changing; the only exception really being dabi’s dance and when mirko took out those nomu on the way to the basement

okay since i just read the book i finally got around to watching it (2017) and uuuuh it kind of fucking sucks lol
i’ll have to see how i feel when i watch the 2nd one but… even as a loose adaptation it felt. weak. like even if i just went into it without thinking about the book it was. not as… heavy… as it could have been imo. it all felt a little sloppy… like this was the best you could do? lol idk
