me ignoring how the king in yellow is definitely cruel and malicious with my whole chest: arthur holding john and yellow to uniquely human standards and punishing/being angry with them when they fail to meet those standards is kinda shitty and he should do more to consider where they come from or at least remember that they aren't human, actually, and haven't lived whole human lives in a human society.

#HGDSUIGH FOR LEGAL REASONS THIS IS A JOKE. IM NOT WOOBIFYING THE EVIL ENTITY KIY AND ITS FRAGMENTS SERIOUSLY.#theyre all definitely capable of conscious evil and malice johns whole character arc is him realizing that and growing into someone better #but still - and this is part of why i dont rly engage w cosmic horror - i do think its a little ridiculous #to use human measuring sticks #with outer gods and great old ones etc etc etc #its like. if we take an example from the other direction. if we turned an ant into a person #and then got mad at it when it didnt immediately grasp human morality out of thin air #or - gasp - care all that much really #gfdugh yeah yeah sentience and intelligence blah blah blah but the scale of existence and what existence even is is so different #for a human and an ant. to a cosmic being does a person even count as sentient and intelligent in comparison. should it #okay this has been your weekly meandering john and yellow apologism post have a good day #they are CONFUSED they are TRYING they are often SCARED and so is arthur he should extend more grace to the eldritch monsters he houses bye #malevolent #that tag is for me its not gonna show up after that rant
