hm. thinking about ep 7 again (inadvisable) and how carmy repeatedly tells syd that they’re cool when she asks...he’s upset and hurt but he doesn’t WANT TO be upset and hurt, he doesn’t want to be upset with her at all and he doesn’t want her to think he’s upset with her at all. even though from the beginning we clearly see that he’s hurt. but he doesn’t lie just to lie he doesn’t want for this to upset him as much as it has

#but it’s clearly rightttt there under the surface bc it requires so little (from Richie aka not-Syd) for him to lash out about her risotto #but he really wants them to be cool as much as she does which I’m fine about #UGH NO ONCE AGAIN.
