succession is about how logan roy, the ceo of waystar roy co. (which is basically the equivalent of FOX in this universe) is getting to the age where he needs to appoint one of his children to take over his company. but he's a dick and he thinks all of his kids suck in their own unique ways so he doesn't really want to. and it's mostly a drama with comedic elements to it.

ooh okay thank u! i posted that like midway through watching the first ep and could Not figure out what to expect in terms of tone esp given. all of the succession content i’ve seen on my dash vs the contents of the first episode. LOL
