ok wait so. ive never thought about the answer to geralt's revival and amnesia before (purposefully, because i knew the games would tell me eventually), and i knew he rode with the hunt, but quite honestly i assumed it happened between 1 and 2, or perhaps between 2 and 3. but the king of the wild hunt is talking about debts and oaths IN tw1. some people consider the hunt a funeral procession
did geralt promise himself to the hunt in death, after he was stabbed in that pogrom, on the condition that they revive yennefer? is that what they mean when they say he rode "for her"? (which for some reason, while Not Thinking About It Too Hard i always assumed meant "in her stead", as in the hunt wanted her but geralt offered himself instead, as some sort of trade. didnt occur to me that it might be more of an "in her honor" turn of phrase) the only thing i wonder then is why he was brought back to life, and why that would take his memory...
like idk the king of the hunt just said some shit and for some reason my brain made a very loud clicking noise and i feel like i accidentally put some pieces together without even meaning to. excited to see how much is/isnt disproved by tw2, haha
