I think I've made this post like 10 times. Obvious caveat fuck genAI it sucks for 99% of applications and the pressure to use it fucking sucks.

That being said is anyone else noticing an Overton window shift where the grindset is being lionized among the anti-AI crowd? Like I'm suddenly seeing a lot of "struggling to write essays or send follow up emails is pure laziness and a moral failing" type rhetoric among people who previously would not have demonized failing to measure up to capitalist standards of productivity and achievement. Like ChatGPT is not the answer and on that we can all agree but people are starting to view takes like "maybe office email culture is kind of ridiculous" and "maybe universities shouldn't be a pressure cooker" as a defense of AI (and therefore laziness and anti-intellectualism).
