it might be just like a generally accepted thing/idea atp but I really don’t think humans are built (brain-wise) to digest the amount of news that we take in on a daily basis, regardless of subject matter. like we are genuinely not built to carry the weight of the world’s issues 24/7 and I genuinely think we could all stand to be just a tinge less informed than we are

#this isn’t to say that news isn’t important!!!#but what good is it to broadcast horrifying images 24/7 to millions or even billions of people #who have legitimately no way to process that info other than spending money they don’t have #and I’m saying this as someone who is chronically dialed in and has to take frequent social media breaks bc I hyper obsess over the news
