god. one thing i will say is that writing dialogue from like. a british/australian character is infinitely harder to me than writing max/charles/carlos’ dialogue.

#it’s probably because for the non native speakers they have noticeable enough ticks in their language #that i can emulate it pretty okay (imo…) in fic #like it’s striking #but with british and aussie dialogue. not even slang but just: regular dialogue #like as an american getting down the word patterns and choices is 😖#the difference feels so slight when in reality it’s just as big #like it’s just. Harder. Blegh #writing meta
