who: @devanitoland when and where: during the lann's day festival, the newly-wedded and pregnant myriam allyrion finally seeks out an interaction with the infamous devani toland.
it were impossible to not have heard of the name devani toland in recent months: her return shortly followed by the reveal of lord dante uller as being the one responsible for the death of her former husband, lord mors martell, seemed to mean that the lines blurred and responsibility was placed on the other. she did not know devani toland enough to dislike her, and whilst myriam's temper was known throughout dorne, she was also not one to look down upon another woman of dorne lest she make her own judgement of her.
the recent months had been blurry, as had devani in the faces of sunspear's courtiers - incident after incident seemed to occur, and she continued to feel a sense of burning pride in the face of jaehaerys targaryen's actions.
the last the rest of westeros had seen her, she had been the princess regent of dorne; standing before the dragon king, and their altercation had resulted in a greater conflict between dorne and the era of new valyria. she was a widow, a mother of a three year old princess with a new political landscape to learn - that had been what her life had been shaped for her as. myriam had all but set fire to the path that had been paved for her; not again, she remembered telling herself.
Tumblr media
now, the continent saw myriam once again; newly wedded to the sword of the morning, and judging by the light swell of her stomach, reinforcing a permanent link between house martell and house dayne by making their heirs half siblings. she had tossed aside the expectations that a rouyal widow was not to remarry, and instead she were here; adorned in dornish outfits and gold in the conservative land of the west, her thick hair straight on either side of her.
she saw devani toland speaking to some westerman as she walked by her, and decided now would be the time she would finally meet with the woman of house toland. as she walked by her, they briefly made eye contact; and the princess mother pulled a slightly taunting face and lowered her thumbs in the direction of the man behind his back. she continued to walk, a hand resting proudly upon the curve of her bump; knowing all seemed to wonder how it was she was married and pregnant again.

who: @devanitoland what: while his attention has been split, the first minister has not forgotten the people he intended to question, including the woman who seemed to know the deceased dante uller so well.
"This isn't my place. This isn't the place where I would prefer to do things like this but I suppose that this is our best location. Unfortunately, I have had many things to do since we buried Dante Uller." Since he buried the man who murdered their prince and the man who desired his wife. Baashir wanted to try with that Dante Uller and he had not been able to do so with any measure of success. And when things reached their tipping point he lost the ability to restrain himself. He lost the ability to remember due process.
Tumblr media
"You knew Dante Uller. Rumor says you were close to him. Rumors says you two had a long relationship. And I wish to know more about it. I wish to know what you knew about his behaviors and routines. And it would beneficial for you to not lie to me about these things. I do not enjoy being lied to and I know when someone is lying." It was half truth. He didn't truly know. But he trusted himself and when his mind was made up, it was near impossible to change anything about it.
"As first minister, it's my duty to inform you that while this is an official meeting that will be on the record, it's even more important to inform you that you are not under arrest." No, he would be here with the Master of Laws if thought there was a reason to arrest her. Instead, he would judge her and then decide.

who: @devanitoland when and where: sunspear, shortly following the murder of dante uller by baashir dayne and the introduction of ruqaiyah dayne to the court of sunspear. there is a grand feast going on with specifically assigned seating, and ruqaiyah finds herself sat at a table with a very, very, familiar stranger. tdlr: that feeling when ur 10 year long situationship shows up
her visit to sunspear would most likely be permanent this time, and it was something she had not fully thought through until the wagon was already days into the journey - she found herself wondering whether that had been intentional, to make the change of setting as easy and minimal as possible. ruqaiyah hoped not, for she wished her departure from her home to be full of emotional theatrics, with elephants adorned in colourful fabrics and colour filling the air.
now she was here, back in the capital city: where she had been before, though it felt like each time she arrived, there was some update. someone had died.
there was assigned seating at this table, and she noted there were multiple notable women of various houses of dorne: and she did not pay enough attention to one of the names that would have been enough to cause her to get up and demand to sit at another table. perhaps because she was too engrossed in gossip about what the princess loreza martell was wearing, she was within such conversation when another face appeared before her.
"my eyes are increasingly fixed on one person." "don't say that." "but i did." "who?" "you've run out of questions now, ru." she had seen it, and heard it, through a rose coloured haze.
one would be able to see her expression change ever so slightly as she looked upon devani toland for the first time in over a decade, as though she had risen from the dead: of course she had heard of her return and all the rumours attached to them. a flicker of realisation, her words slowing for a moment, before she simply looked away; acting as though she was not at the table at all. none would have noticed the way her heart was thumping, and how suddenly increasingly numb she began to feel.
Tumblr media
a door slammed. "you said your eyes were fixed on one person. one. person." "did you take it seriously? we were drinking." "but you said it." "so?" "do you tolands know how to count?" she had seen it, and heard it, through no haze.
how she wished to get up and demand to be sat elsewhere. she found herself looking anywhere but at her, speaking to women and aunties of various social circles as they walked by her; and still, she had not said hello. she would not say hello first. she refused to say hello first.
and if devani toland did not say hello first, then devani toland was not sat opposite ruqaiyah dayne. it was an empty seat.

ruqaiyah let out a breath that came out more like a laugh—sharp, breathless, incredulous. "you weren’t made for one place?” her voice turned cold and lilting, as if she were entertaining a joke no one else was in on. “you weren’t made for it, so we were born to sit and wait for you to flutter off and find your next whim?"” her chest rose and fell rapidly now, but her posture was still perfect, held together by the sheer force of her ego and the fact she knew she looked good. she had lost inches on her waist, as seen by her newest dress; devani would eat her words.
“that's not FAIR, you make it sound like i had you CHAINED!” she continued, tone curdling into something mock-sweet as her voice continued to rise - and despite the fact she were furious, she also loved the fact she had devani here in this moment. arguing with her, giving her full attention.
“you were in my house, you wore my clothes, you sat on my bed. you let me braid your hair while you told me—promised me—that i was the one person who understood you. and you’re telling me now, that you left because you were sixteen and had stuff on your mind?” she took a step back, her arms crossing tightly over her chest. her nails dug into her own arms, but she didn’t care. she wanted to feel it. wanted to ground herself in anything other than the ache that was pulling at her ribs. there was something in her voice now that even she could not quite contain. a tremble, brittle and buzzing with humiliation.
Tumblr media
"you don’t get to call me dramatic when you made me feel like i was mad. like i had imagined the whole thing. you said you’d never leave me. you said—” she bit the words back like they were acid. “you said i was the only one who saw you.” her voice cracked, just once, and she swallowed hard, eyes narrowed in fury at her own weakness.
“and don’t you dare stand there and call me a child when you ran off like some storm-chaser desperate to be anywhere but with me.” her mouth twisted, lips gleaming like lacquered anger. “you wanted me, devani. you chose me. you told me things—things you didn’t have to say. and then what? you got bored? you spotted a guardsman and thought, oh, let me just vanish like i was never here?” she tilted her head, eyes glinting, voice rising suddenly. “I SAW YOU. THAT IS WHY YOU LEFT. BECAUSE OF DANTE ULLER AND THAT GUARD.”
devani's head was shaking. she was never a woman prone to anger. there was much that could be said to her, and she would simply laugh it off, make a joke of it, adopt it as part of her persona, if she found enough flattery in the unflattering. getting her to this point, where impatience took over, where irritation flickered in the dark hue of her eyes, took a particular skill that only ruqaiyah had ever seemed to have mastered. she wielded words as her brother did his sword, giving no space in the conversation for devani's words to settle, and so devani did not either. she would not stop to give ruqaiyah's words any consideration, would not do anything beyond dig her heels in, and refuse to see anything beyond her own point.
ruqaiyah demanded submission, and devani would not give it to her.
there was no more deflection, no more poking and twisting. instead, devani made a sound in the back of her throat, dismissive and derisive. "would you listen to yourself, ruqaiyah," she snapped, her exasperation bleeding into her tone. "you think i dream of a life like yours? get real." it was her own arrogance showing now, the knowledge that the life ruqaiyah claimed to want could have been hers, many times. if not in dorne, in essos, where lovers had come and gone so often she had lost track. she could have had it, only to devani, it was not an honour, but a shackle around her ankles.
and she saw it clearly, now ; that ruqaiyah would have chained her, too, if she had chosen to stay. it would have suffocated her, would have made her chafe against the commitment she had made to her as much as it had rubbed her raw when she had been married. in that moment, she had never been more certain of her choices. "yes, i do expect you to accept it," she said, a hand going to her forehead in her frustration. "perhaps that is too much to ask, though, since that would involve you coming to terms with the fact that people have more going on in their lives than you, ruqaiyah, and that is something you will never do. it's like talking to a child."
Tumblr media
ruqaiyah closed the gap between them, the two of them practically nose to nose, and devani's hands dropped to her side. there was no humour in her expression, the laughing mockery absent from her eyes. "i left," she confirmed. "because we were sixteen years old, ru. and even then, it was obvious..." she trailed off, what exactly was obvious never making it passed her lips. she had meant what she said, at the time, but she had always been flightly, the unloved child of house toland, unable to ever commit to any bond she had ever made. "i wasn't made for any one place." was all she offered by way of explanation. any one place, any one person. she had always grown restless in the end.
she could have apologised. it would not be the first time she said something she didn't mean, driven by self-preservation. there was no pride in devani toland, and she did not mind making herself look the fool. it would be easy to beg forgiveness, but she wouldn't, because for ruqaiyah dayne, it would never be enough. "keep wishing," she said, simply. "the worst is long behind me."

When Cassius had asked her to the Gala he’d made sure she knew it was as friends. Devani respected that, she’d take whatever she could with him now. Even if he didn’t feel the same as she did this was a chance to show him that he could. Her mistake was what ruined them, he’d been in love with her until then, he’d been in love with her when he left her. They could be that again. “How much of this did you plan?” She held onto his arm as she looked around, so many faces she’d never seen before. People she’d eventually need to meet. “Or did you just give your nod of approval to it?” @dusklaced

whether or not we met in our past life, this life was not the one for us ; the end of the marriage between lord armaan yronwood and lady joy manwoody.
all in dorne knew of the state of armaan and joy's marriage by the end: most obvious by the fact that joy lived in kingsgrave for the last four months of her pregnancy, away from her husband and his fortress of yronwood. the people of yronwood did not take to their new lady, and paired with the animosity and anger between the couple, it was decided separation was the best bet.
it was agreed that in her ninth month of pregnancy, both armaan and joy would be in sunspear for the birth of their children; and it was during this ninth month that lord armaan yronwood was approached by lady devani toland, with something strange from the lady of ghost hill - a request for help.
armaan was initially not open to listening, due to the tensions between house toland and the house of his late best friend, house jordayne. he knew nothing of the lady of ghost hill, and did not trust her; however, when she insisted that it would be in both of their benefit, he listened. for lady devani toland admitted that her cousin, joy manwoody, had planned to keep the child for kingsgrave and herself rather than an heir to yronwood.
it was then devani admitted that she had been married seven years ago and birthed a child, all of which joy knew - only, armaan was shocked to hear joy manwoody had for some reason threatened to bring the absent husband into her own household and force her cousin back into the marriage. devani admitted she does not believe she would be a good mother nor a good wife, and has left her husband to be free.
armaan quietly came to accept the fact that he could see joy withholding his child from him. and so, when devani toland was present in the birthing chamber as joy manwoody gave birth not to one son but two, she intentionally undermined the instructions of the gurus and midwives in a subtle fashion. leaving wounds open from childbirth to fester and infection as advised by the bloodroyal, and when the fever came, devani took joy's weakened stance to her advantage.
it was announced joy manwoody had perished due to childbed fever - none but armaan yronwood and devani toland know that, in order to rid their lives of her presence, the fever was only the first step. the second was to weaken the commander enough for her cousin to smother her with a pillow, leaving her body limp.
as planned, an urgent devani toland emerged from the chambers of her cousin distressed, begging the bloodroyal to call a guru - for joy was no longer breathing. and so, armaan yronwood had two sons as heirs of yronwood and kingsgrave alike - whilst devani toland holds no threat over her life.
"one life is enough."

(THE AUSPICIOUS DAY HAS COME) / @joymanwoody
Prior to the Dornish arrival to the Court of Thorns and Roses, Lord Armaan Yronwood and Lady Joy Manwoody were wed within the keeps of Kingsgrave and Yronwood in the presence of the court of Sunspear. After the wedding ceremony was completed at the auspicious time of five in the evening within Kingsgrave, Lady Joy Manwoody’s wedding procession from Kingsgrave to Yronwood began, to begin her new life.
Upon arriving to Yronwood, the majestic keep was lit up for a night of celebration and revelry as they welcomed a new Lady, after so many years. Houses Yronwood and Manwoody and their people are now joined.

Female OC blog @dreicha is one of the most wonderful OCs I've come across. Devani is a powerful character, with a bealievable and realistic physical handicap, that gives her a lot of emotional backstory and drive, she's so fun to interact with and comes up with great new adventures for us all the time. I don't know what I would do without this lovely Mun/Muse duo, they make my day.

♣️
the brackens were up to something that fateful night, with both the head and heart of stone hedge within the gardens attached the festivities attached to visenya's hill - though on two entirely different paths, and a considerable amount of space from one another. there was a case to crack, and whilst she had not expected to find herself fixating as much as she had on the case of the mysterious lady gold, she understood there was some greater scheme.
there was much to gain from exposing the treachery, for her house, for her brother, and for her. at least, that was what she thought.
it was ronan's role to catch her, though there was a reason brianna herself was in the gardens too: one that went beyond speaking with the mysterious dornish woman she had found herself getting on like a hosue on fire with. two sets of bracken eyes on the look for the walking bag of coin who would take the trap. and that was all the intrigue the night was supposed to hold for the clover that survived that night, keeping an eye and an ear out for anything strange. she would happily find herself running after any fleeing gossip writer, even if she needed to kick off her boots to do so.
she kept a shawl wrapped around the shoulders of her dress, ignoring the slight chill in the air that came from the night of kings landing. "'twas all anyone spoke of, when the king first announced his betrothal to yer princess. lorinda, i think her name be? loreena?" she uttered, finding herself in conversation with the lady devani toland. it seemed as though the woman needed to be caught up on what had occurred between casimir tully and loreza martell, and what tension that had created between dorne and the riverlands.
"even more of a stir when it broke off. heard rumours the conversation was a tense one." she pulled a slight face.
her eyes and ears were focused on trying to make sure she heard nothing strange. to ensure ronan was elsewhere in these gardens, confronting lady gold; and when she heard sounds of smashing glass and yells of not just pain but agony, it felt as though lightening had struck a bolt within her. her mouth opened slightly, her mind immediately jumping to the worst; it had gone terribly wrong. it felt as though her chest were caving in and she looked at devani, who too had heard the noise, and the lass of stone hedge reached down to raise her skirts and break out into an all-out sprint toward the sounds.
then there came a feral scream.
she had expected to turn and find her brother had been attacked. instead, she saw a seemingly ungodly amount of blood. the sight made the colour drain from her face, suddenly filled with images of it mixing with the rain of stone hedge's courtyard, fire ablaze, their men crying for their mother in the mud. she saw two women, one holding a bottle, and a man who was bleeding; bleeding heavily. she had to double take to realise she was looking at the witch of raventree hall, and her gaze instantly narrowed, her gut instinct being to blame her.
Tumblr media
but then she noted the marks of violence upon willow, the redness on her face that would no doubt amount of bruising, and the glass that was on the floor. she remained frozen, feeling the lady of dorne coming beside her. then she saw him. slumped on the ground, still bleeding.
"w-what in seven fuckin' hells is this meant to be?" brianna asked, her voice clearly shaken; trying to ignore the sound of clashing swords at the back of her brain, and reminding herself that the darkness of the night was from the night itself, rather than the smoke and the wings of ceraxes. her eyes darted between both the women, though lingered on willow more, because she were a familiar face.
she should turn and leave, and she was about to; that was until the man's hands reached forward to grab the bottom of a woman's dress, and then her feet. as though he wished to drag her down to the ground. it was not willow, but the other one; the one with the bloodied bottle in her hand. there came a struggle, where he called her a wicked bitch - and suddenly, brianna found herself all but stomping over and violently bringing the full force of her boot on the man's hand once, twice, three times. something cracked.
"get off her. GET OFF HER. GET OFF HER." brianna added, becoming louder and more hysterical when faced with the reality of the animalistic urges of some men. how she realised in this moment she was not afraid of god, she was afraid of man. and in the panic, she raised her foot to boot the man directly in the face. his teeth came flying out, as blood and spit flew from his mouth. the force was enough to make him turn to lay limply on his other shoulder.
"i'll get help...i can get help."
@devanitoland
who: @vhaenessavelaryon + @briannabrackens + @devanitoland + @moonhillsunsets + @celtigxr setting: at night in the gardens of the red keep during one of the coronation balls. context: the 6 commit a murder.
willow had not wanted to join the coronation celebrations of the targaryen king, but she had been convinced by her sons to go. the city was no stranger to her. she had spent enough time as a young woman attending countless balls and feasts when her father was master of laws. now here she was strolling through the gardens while the distant sound of music and merriment filled the air. she had been forced to be with too many people for far too long. she had nearly strangled the last lord who decided to approach her by speaking of the weather. it had been her cue to flee to the gardens.
when walking past an entrance to a hedge maze, her shoulder collided with that of a man. even at the best of times, willow was easy to offend but she recognised this lord and it fuelled an anger inside her. lord ihsan marbrand. he had gained a reputation that no man should wish to gain, a reputation most of the ladies had heard of by now. most of the men would not care but the women certainly did.
she turned around before he could go far. "are you a mole, my lord?" she asked with venom in her voice. when he turned around to look at her with confusion, she followed it up with: "you seem to be as blind as one." when the marbrand lord got closer to her, clearly not pleased with what she had said, then willow immediately added insult to injury. "you look like one too." the darkness was thick around them but there was a torch on a nearby castle wall lighting up the night enough for her to see.
Tumblr media
"i will give you a chance to apologise."
there was something something unsettling about him and a tiny voice in her mind was telling her that she probably should apologise and quickly get away from him, but willow's tongue was unfortunately quicker than her brain. "you're right, i'm sorry... to the mole for comparing it to you." there was a smirk on her lips and she was pleased with herself. but not for long. suddenly she felt the sharp pain of the back of his hand colliding with her cheek and she heard him call her 'insolent witch'.
willow stood rooted to the ground with pain radiating in her jaw. she was completely stunned for a moment before she foolishly decided to retaliate by pushing him. but she was not strong enough and he managed to catch himself before he fell backwards. suddenly she found herself with her back against a tree and a strong hand wrapped around her throat. she tried to fight back but to no avail. she started to panic as he restricted the air flowing into her lungs. she scratched at his face but she found herself unable to reach far enough to do the damage required for him to let her go. would he really go as far as to kill her over a stupid insult? willow was terrified that he just might. the rest of her air escaped her as she felt the pain of a strike to her stomach. her vision seemed to get darker and darker as she flailed in his grasp. but then she heard some rustling to her side before suddenly falling to the ground while heaving for breath.

PENILAIAN OBLIGASI
Tumblr media
Devani Nazwa Haliza// Analisis Investasi dan Portofolio// IAIN Palangka Raya// Puput Iswandyah Raysharie, S., ME
5. Peringkat obligasi
Tingkat profitabilitas perusahaan
Tingkat kepastian untuk memperoleh pendapatan
Besar kecilnya perusahaan
Jumlah pinjaman subordinasi yang dikeluarkan perusahaan
Instrumen hutang jangka panjang a. Debentures (surat hutang) b. Subordinate debentures (surat hutang subordinasi) c. Obligasi gadai d. Zero and very low coupon bonds (obligasi tanpa bunga dan rendah nilai) e. Junk bonds (obligasi murah) f. Eurobonds (obligasi Euro)
Penilaian Obligasi
Dimana :
VB       = Nilai Obligasi
I           = Bunga tahunan obligasi
kd        = Tingkat pengembalian yang diisyaratkan investor disebut suku bunga yang berlaku
t           = Jangka waktu obligasi
Jawab :
VB      = Rp 100/0,10
VB      = Rp 1.000
Jawab :
VB       =  M (PVIFkd,n)
= Rp 4.000.- (PVIF12%,10thn)
= Rp 4.000.- (0,322)
= Rp 1.288.
Contoh :
PT.  A  menerbitkan obligasi 10  tahun dengan nilai nominal sebesar  Rp 4.000.- dan coupon rate
sebesar 12% per tahun sehingga coupon payment sebesar Rp 480.- per tahun. Jika  suku  bunga
PT. A ?
Jawab :
VB      = I (PVIFAkd,n)  + M (PVIFkd,n)
= Rp 480.- (PVIFA12%,10thn) + Rp 4.000.- (PVIF10%,10thn)
= Rp 480.- (5,650) + Rp 4.000.- (0,322)
= Rp 4.000.-

The Lincoln City Council on Monday unanimously approved Adventure Golf’s request for a liquor license allowing on-site consumption at the mini-golf course, 5901 S. 56th St. “Our desire for that is not to be a destination for purchasing alcohol,” co-owner Erik Gustafson told the City Council at a public hearing Monday. brianna’s breath came out in ragged gasps, a deep ache settling in her chest as devani spoke. she could feel the heat of her panic ebbing just slightly, but the tremors in her hands didn’t stop. the silence of the sewers pressed against her, thick with the stench of the dark, damp walls, and brianna’s own thoughts. devani’s voice was like a lifeline—steady, calm, but brianna felt the pressure of her own spiralling mind tightening its grip. she began to wonder if this was what the beginning of madness felt like, if she soon would feel her brain blurring and feel her memories slipping through her fingers. was this how it started?
“i know yer right,” brianna muttered, her voice barely more than a whisper, like she was talking to herself as much as to devani. she ran a hand through her damp hair again, pushing it back from her forehead, the rough texture of her fingers doing nothing to ease the knots of dread that tangled in her stomach. “this... this ain't our mistake. it wasn’t us, and we didn’t do it. we just... found ourselves in a mess. couldn’t walk away, could we?” she snorted bitterly, pacing once more, boots splashing in the muck beneath. “fuck, i wish i had, though.”
devani’s words about sticking together, about making sure they didn’t go down alone, started to settle into brianna’s mind like the first rays of sunlight cutting through a storm. trust, devani said. that was the answer. trust, and don’t let anyone see the cracks in the walls they’d built.
“aye... stick together. we’ll stand, won’t we? it ain't like we all see each other all da time, or we're friends. i ain't know half them women.” brianna’s voice was firmer now, though there was a sharp edge to it, a tinge of uncertainty in the way she spoke. she began to feel the reality seeping into her; she would not end up in shackles. she would not end up catching some disease in the cells. "i can do that. trust you, that is. ye've got a way of talkin' sense, don’t ye? don’t let me lose myself in this..." she trailed off, the anger in her voice faltering as she shook her head. “the necklace... i can’t be the one to carry that weight, can i? best leave it for the rats, let it rot in these stinkin’ sewers. ain’t no good to anyone now.”
she closed her eyes for a moment, the oppressive air of the tunnels seeming to close in on her. trust. that’s what she had to do. trust, and hope that things would fall into place. but there was always the fear, wasn’t there? the fear that someone would break first.
Tumblr media
“i’ll tell ronan,” brianna said, a little louder now, like the decision was hardening in her chest. "i’ll tell him everything. everythin’. he’ll understand. i won’t sit here and wait for the wolves to tear me apart." she let out a bitter laugh, more from nerves than humour. “he’ll protect me. he always does. i know he will.” and perhaps that was what shamed her most of all; the fact her brother would be cleaning up her mess. all because she found herself wrapped up in a blackwood being beaten for her tongue, as though brianna had not wished to do the same to her so many a time. the fear didn’t quite leave her, but for the first time in a long while, brianna felt as though maybe—just maybe—she had a chance to survive this.
“right then. let's get this mess sorted, before anyone else drags us down with ‘em.” and brianna was ready to leave the matter there; she was ready to allow herself to be pulled into the quiet that was trudging along a stranger with the endgoal being laying within her own bed, looking upon the ceiling. curling beneath the blankets and allowing herself to hide away. and then a thought came to her mind. "will you tell anyone?" she asked, her question blunt; she did not know whether it were rude or appropriate to say, but she asked it all the same.
for a moment, devani said nothing, merely looking at brianna as she teetered on the edge of breakdown. these things had a way of catching fire in tight spaces, and they were undeniably in a tight space now. yet, she could not let it consume her. she had to keep her head clear, for the both of them. that was what had always seen her through - a clear mind, and a trick up her sleeve. her sleeves were inconveniently empty now, and she only had the first to rely upon.
"exactly," she nodded her head. "we just got caught up in something we shouldn't have. this is not our mistake to be punished for. not our burden to bear." if she said it enough times, perhaps brianna would believe it. "which is why we need to stick together. we can't let ourselves be dragged under, no more than we already have. our story is the same, and if this comes out, we will stand together."
the necklace was a problem, one she did not know the answer to. "if you want to go back to look for it, i'll go with you." she didn't want to, but she could not deny the fact it was a worry, a solid tether of evidence that tied them to the scene of the crime. "but we don't know where it was lost. i don't even know if i could find my way back to where we..." she paused, the memory of finding herself in a shallow grave all too real. "we may not find it. and even if we do, the longer we spend here, the greater the risk is. we can't afford to be seen lingering here."
she nodded her assent quickly. an alibi was a good thing to have. "i mean, we would not need much of a reason. any in dorne would tell you it would not be out of character for me to go to flea bottom, and drag you along for the ride." she'd always been flighty, the type to find herself in places she shouldn't be. it was no great stretch to insist that was what happened to them tonight.
she managed a small, weak smile. devani liked to give the impression she was a woman with all the answers, but in truth, she was far from it, because what she could not find her way from, she ran from. there was no running this time - it simply was not an option. her smile soon waned, however, when brianna continued to talk, cluing her in to the strained relations between herself and willow. "fuck," she said, trying her best to keep her voice even. "that's... well, you know her better than i do. if you say she'll turn, i believe you. but you're wrong if you think i'd let her." that could be their saving grace - if they banded together, and hoped the rest stayed apart.

she wasn't even sure brianna was hearing her, or if she'd fallen too deeply into her own mind, her ramblings causing devani to blink. she couldn't afford to lose her to her spiralling thoughts, and so she placed a hand on her shoulder, trying to ground her, keep her steady. "i know you're scared. i'm scared as well. but panic is dangerous. more dangerous than willow wylde and a lost necklace. we have to try and start fighting smart, because that's the way out of this." she wasn't sure any of this was smart - bringing her brother into it, a man who did not know devani, who had no reason to offer her a shield beyond the fact she corroborated his sister's innocence, but if brianna was primed to crack, better she did it with him than with someone who would throw the pair of them to the wolves.
"they hate me," devani confirmed, a nod of her head. "and that makes me a perfect scapegoat, doesn't it? the celtigar that brought the knife out is too sharp by half. mark my words, she's as much of a problem as willow wylde." her voice dropped to something lower, though her hand remained steady on brianna's shoulder. "but that works both ways. they'll both think we're the weak links, the easy targets. it gives us a head start to get our affairs in order. they won't consider that we'll stand together. that's our first advantage."
it was why devani was so content to play the fool, and be thought of as one. when you were clever, people always expected you to be clever, worked hard to be one step ahead of you. if they thought you stupid, they never thought to check how far ahead you were in the race. "ease your burdens. tell your brother. let him bear the storm for you, and we can worry about the rest when the time comes."
