For Dream is a god/godling but doesnt know AU:

XD is a Overworld Guardian (Known as an Elder Dreamon) and The Dragon is a End Guardian and Dream is their child, born from both genuine love n want for family and also unfiying the relms

The End used to be a mostly aquatic (Hence ships n teleporting) land full of islands where goat/ram people and white greeneyed enderman lived/sailed, then Chorus fruit, much like the crimson, begin to pop up and it drained the world, most goat/ram people escaped but the Endermen weren't so lucky as they and The Ender Dragon fell under its control

Schlatt is one of the few goat/ram ppl effected (His once black fur turned white), I also see Schaltt as old, like to him Philza is young and was there when XD sealed off The End to contain it (One of the few to just barely escape) - Puffy is like 2 Gen of Overworld Sheeple

Also Schaltt wasnt close to XD or the dragon but he Knew of them, like he was into plotics an shit n it was public knowledge, but hes all half mad and miserable with life so hes no help.

Dream, whos p young actually, doesnt know hes half dragon, but he knows he has horns and Schaltt has horns and his are sorta curving the same way (Female dragon horns are straight while males curve, Dreams will curve more as he grows) and as he works with Schaltt he sorta gets that "I have ko father figure and you're the closet I can get atm" relationship where Schaltts more or less a really unhelpful Uncle, tells Dream he did know his mom she had a great "rack" (horns) and that when hes ready it'll all make sense (Hes fully talking out his ass here he just wants Dream to shut up but Lowkey Dream internalizes that as a sign the ends justify the means)

AU Ranboo isnt a hybrid hes just a full Enderman whos suffering from being a 1st generation decadent of two chrous fruited Endermen. The Dragon can also control Endermen and thsts why Ranboo and Bob where so drawn to Dream

Wheres XDad you ask? Well thats a funny story actually, you see-
