Location: Refugee Camp/Summer home
When: A few days after the rebel attack
Who: @stoneward-princess
Fire. Screaming. Blood and smoke. The crunch of bone and the burning in her chest.
Keeva’s eyes flew open as the nightmare startled her away. She blinked against a bright cast of sun streaming in through the window.
Rathal… did I actually fall asleep? It’s afternoon already.
Keeva usually slept during the day, though usually for only a few hours at a time. However, the last couple days had been an endless march of sleepless middays for her. Guilt and anxiety had eaten each other's tails, becoming an ouroboros of insomnia. She felt so helpless. Hardly leaving Josefin’s side since they had arrived, her restlessness and exhaustion from the attack, the fighting, the running, had all caught up with her. After her dream, she wasn’t sure she felt any less exhausted. She propped herself up to glance over her shoulder only to find her heart nearly stop at an empty bed.
“Nononononooo…” Keeva felt the panic rise up in her. All of the gentle reassurances from Kirian flew from her mind. She tried to breathe as she shot up from the bed and bolted for the door. If she could find Kirian, or someone else, someone who could tell her what happened---
As soon as she exited the room a familiar scent hit her nose. Much stronger than it had been in that location in days, than it should have been.
Unless…
Keeva nearly sprinted after the scent, leading her down onto the main floor and towards the back of the house. Fueled by a new sense of urgency. She rounded a corner to see the hallway she was in open into a Kitchen. The slid to a halt as she saw a familiar tumble of blonde hair. Josefin was perched in a chair near one of the counters.
Tears of relief began to wet her cheeks as she breathed a sigh.
“You’re okay.”

Location: Hedge Garden/Maze
When: A bit before Midnight
Who: For @stoneward-princess
Keeva hadn’t gotten this turned around while outside in quite some time. She was used to the familiarity of the swamp and the forest that surrounded it. The gardens around the palace were sprawling and unfamiliar. Keeva sighed, if she would shift, she could just fly her way back to the palace that way but she couldn’t risk that and she knew it. Resigned to wander until she found her way back or hope she might be able to reach Valarr with her telepathy, she continued walking.
She heard footsteps from somewhere behind her in the garden and she quickly turned down an aisle of large spiral shaped bushes. Her fight or flight response kicked in as her fingers twitched and the shadows responded to her command. They coalesced to her, forming a second skin. Obscured by the shadow, she tucked herself against one of the bushes and waited for the owner of the approaching footsteps to pass.
A graceful tumble of blonde hair over a pink mask appeared around the corner and Keeva was relieved to see it appeared to be just another attendee. The breeze carried the stranger's scent to her. It smelled like the wind that brings a snowstorm, sun-dried Alpine Aster, and old parchment. She knew the scent. Dissipating the shadows, the dragoness stepped forward slowly hoping to not scare her.
“Josefin?”
