Dazai who needs to be the older one in a relationship or even jus a hookup so he can feel like he’s more mature and more in control than his partner. Being with someone older than him would lead to him feeling helpless and inferior (or even worse, they’d be able to see through him and provide him with actual comfort and stir up feelings in him which is a no no). So he always want to be the older one to have an upper hand. Had a very brief phase in his pm days where he sought out older partners and regretted it the moment they touched his suppressed feelings and accidentally made him cry during sex when calling him a good boy.

On one hand I see where you're coming from and it matches very well with him, I think that's how he'd work with casual partners/hookups. On the other pillow princess Dazai is so very real to me, I know he'd be at his best when he can push and brat and misbehave with someone who he knows and trusts (ahem. Chuuya.) without any consequences. He just likes to be a nuisance for a bit before he gets pinned down and railed while getting called a princess, and honestly I can respect that.

Dazai crying during sex is so real to me though, it's definitely happened a few times and he always has to fake his death afterwards, it's so embarrassing. I think that if you managed to get into a good, solid relationship while he was still in the PM he could slowly get more comfortable with being babied. If you only meet him after he's joined the ADA it's going to take a few years of work for him to be truly vulnerable, without trying to immediately deflect or cover it up.
