Going home days are almost always totally logistics.
This time around we're up at seven sharp (pretty much just me) to get hot water going. The plan's to pack pack pack, take hot showers, and hit the road at 830.
Doesn't quite work out like that.
For one thing, there's a metric ton to pack. To collapse. To sort. To organize. To Tetris. To pack our two monster bags in such a way that neither heads north of fifty pounds lest we incur baggage charges. Which means, pretty obviously, that we're better off foregoing the hot showers to focus all our energies on packing our belongings for air travel that'll happen later the same day.
We hit the road at 915.
Not a problem, by the way. Everyone, it turns out, is at church. And not on the roads, highways, and freeways. So we definitely catch a break there.
Thank you... Easter. 😉
Now, we're supposed to have Big Foot the campervan back to the Inglewood lot by 10. We do, however, have an hour's grace period and Google Maps calls it a fifty minute drive from where we are.
About a mile into our return, of course, we stop at that Starbucks again to grab a breakfast sandwich 'n drip coffee for Kimmer. Then it's drive drive drive... drive drive drive... until we pull into the lot a little after 10:30 with Big Foot newly gassed up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I let the admin know we're back, then we quickly unload our gear, check all the nooks and crannies of the van for anything that might still be in the van, and then we pick up and wipe down all the surfaces that are obvious to wipe down.
After we're checked back in, turns out we used 91 less miles against our trip's allotment of miles and, thus, we get a bit of refund.
Huzzah!!!
Plus, the admin takes a moment to show us a new rig they're renting for adventuring: the Del Mar. It bigger than what we just took on the road so you don't have to collapse a bench to form the bed. The bench stays put with the full bed behind it.
It's a new, 2023 model featuring a back-up camera and other automotive goodies.
Okay.
Still following the plan Kimmer conjured, we hail a Lyft, grab a full size Dodge Charger II upgrade from the Alamo car rental lot a coupla miles away at 11:30, and drive down to SNA, John Wayne International, to drop off the bags we're checking in. Only... Southwest doesn't accept any bags for check-in until four hours before scheduled departure. And we're waaaaaaaay before that time. So there we are, having lugged these big bags across the parking garage, and we basically have to turn around and go back. Not before, though, having our bags weighed to make sure neither of the big ones topped fifty pounds.
One-thirty we're back at Derek's place for a lazy afternoon. We start off with Ruby's Diner leftovers and leftover pasta from the dinner party the previous night. And then...
The aforementioned hot shower.
And yeah. We each took our time with that one.
Afterward, we get some time to hang out with Kyle. And then we get a little time to hang out with Derek who's been unloading and unpacking his gear and disassembling his teardrop trailer for storage. And then, coming up on 430, it's time to go home.
Our adventuring is over. The curtains are coming down on our trip.
So Derek grabs a pair of our bags (I'm certain to make sure we're actually leaving 😉), I grab my rucksack, Kimmer grabs her laptop case and bag, and we all walk over to the car, parked at the end of Derek's street.
Once the bags are tossed in the car (that Dodge Charger which is a wicked cool shade of blue), I figure to take advantage of a rare family photograph: Kimmer. Derek. And Kyle.
Interestingly, they oblige without complaint, and many, many photographs are taken.
These are but three...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We hit the road at 430, stopping a mile into our route in the Starbucks parking lot to repack some things since we still have all our bags with us. So we're checking in as much as possible, carrying on as little as possible.
By the time we pull into the Alamo rental car return, it's a quarter passed five. A little later than we'd like, so we muscle our bags out of the trunk, out of the car, we check in the car and then set about trudging to the Southwest kiosk lugging absolutely everything we're traveling with, this 100% awkward weight, in as unwieldy a manner as possible. We're muscling two nearly fifty pound bags on rollers, our personal luggage (one each) also on wheels, and then each of us also has two personal bags of at least rucksack size for good measure.
And we're moving it all about the airport by sheer force of will.
We're just tired, is all. And we want to get this done.
Now I said before how going home days are almost entirely about logistics. Which they are.
However.
All that packing and putting away, all the dismantling of this temporary life on the road is also an act of reliving. Of being reminded. Of memories triggered.
We marvel, for example, not at how fast our time has gone. On the contrary. We marvel at how much time there was. So much that we had a multitude of memorable experiences without robbing our days of the ability to do long stretches of nothing in particular. Of just being.
In fact, dismantling our adventure reminds us of how large an adventure it was. Fun. Relaxing. Meaningful.
Dismantling our adventure forces us to reconcile experiences that happened within days of each other. Only the distance seems much larger than that. As if our time on the road was being measured in weeks... not days.
Dismantling our adventure also forces us to face the end of that adventure, its final moments.
Now you may, understandably, consider actually arriving home as the end of the adventure. After all, the adventure starts when we open our front door and step out into the hall with luggage in tow.
So it stands to reason it ends once we step back in and throw ourselves on the bed.
Experience informs me, however, how that's seldom ever the case. Experience informs me that the emotional end of our adventures usually occurs before we even land at Sea-Tac. There's always some moment, you see, that feels like the end of the journey. That serves as the final period, that little black dot of the story.
In our case, our adventure ends in a pair of seats at gate 20, John Wayne airport.
It's 6 in the evening.
The sun's easing into sunset mode.
Kimmer, God bless her soul, scored us a pair of blended matchas, each topped with whipped cream.
Milkshakes, basically.
And so we sit there in the light of a setting sun. Tired. Ready to be home again. But delighted.
With each sip of milkshaky goodness.
😁

Thursday, May 9th 2024. Ohakune > Wellington.
Like my mobile phone when I'm expecting a call, today was a Ring-less day. Our planned visit to Mangawhero Falls was unfortunately cancelled due to ice on the roads (apparently it's unsafe to drive several hundred feet up a mountainside in these conditions, but that's news to me).
Jake and I are looking at making this visit ourselves when we have the campervan in week three, so the ice better be gone by then otherwise we're wrapping chains around the tyres and Fury Road-ing our way up this goddamn mountain (we're looking for a volunteer to strap to the front of the van, please let us know if you're interested in applying).
So instead, we journeyed south towards the capital, Wellington, making stops at Ohakune (a small town), Taihape (a small town) and Levin (also a small town). Most of these towns were actually quite similar to places in the UK - in fact if you took the nice parts of Loughborough and streched these across a single road (and removed the yobs) they would look almost the same.
We'll be staying in Wellington for the next few nights, and we're visiting Weta Workshop tomorrow, so expect some more re-enactments of your favourite LOTR moments by a pair of sleep-deprived 30 year-olds.

I was crying by turn two after taking first win Russell admits | 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix
George Russell said “tears were flooding” soon after he claimed his first Formula 1 grand prix victory in Brazil yesterday. The Mercedes driver held off late pressure from Lewis Hamilton in the other W13 to score the team’s first victory of 2022 at Interlagos. He admitted he was “pretty impressed at how quickly I started crying” after taking the chequered flag in first place. “Once I crossed the line, literally by the time we were at turn two tears were flooding. I just thought of my family to be honest – everybody’s back at home. I’ve got my mum at home with my girlfriend, I’ve got my sister with her husband, my brother with my father and his two children, so all of my closest family were a little bit spread out, but I know that they were all watching together and as soon as I got my phone straight after the race, called them all in a group FaceTime.” Russell’s breakthrough victory is the culmination of years of work which led to him joining Mercedes’ junior driver programme and eventually joining their F1 team full-time this year. “It’s just been such an emotional roller coaster and journey for all of us, from go-karting, travelling up and down the country in the campervan with my parents, to the support my brother and sister gave me and the support my girlfriend’s given me throughout this whole season. Poll: Rate the race: 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix “It’s not a straightforward life in Formula 1. We’re all living our dreams but your emotions vary substantially based on performance and you’re coming home from a weekend either very happy and things are good or coming home pretty disappointed. “It’s difficult for everybody and I sort of feel that for all of us, not just my family. Everybody who’s supported me throughout my journey who’s given me this opportunity: Mercedes, Gwen [Lagrue], who’s been a huge part of giving me this opportunity. Gwen is the manager of the Mercedes driver programme and he’s the one who got me in with Mercedes in the beginning. “And then so much support from Mercedes, with Williams, the people who have supported me throughout my journey in karting, Formula 4, Formula 3. The list is endless. All these thoughts just go rushing through your mind over the course of that 60 seconds and yeah, definitely a bit emotional, for sure.” Advert | Become a RaceFans supporter and go ad-free He scored his first win at the same Interlagos circuit where he had his first run in an official Formula 1 practice session with Mercedes customer team Force India (now Aston Martin) five years earlier. “It’s just been such an emotional roller coaster” – Russell “Brazil and Sao Paulo is always going to hold a special place in my heart, no doubt,” said Russell. “I remember being on the grid last year, and being about a metre and a half away from the fans and everybody was just going crazy. “The passion for Formula 1 here is just immense and yeah, so proud to get my victory in a place that has so much history and character in Formula 1.” Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff said Russell’s victory was fully deserved success for the first graduate of their modern junior driver scheme. “I thought about it at the end of the race, when he walked in as a 16-year-old with his suit and his tie and his PowerPoint presentation,” said Wolff. “He’s the first of our new junior programme that has won a race. “Obviously, Lewis has been there forever and he’s the most successful of the ones that have graduated from the junior academy. But six years later, he’s a grand prix race winner, deserved. “We’ve always set hard targets: You’ve got to win GP3, you’ve got to win F2 and he did that in his rookie seasons. And then I guess at Williams it was the best school[ing] he could have had. Maybe a year too long, but in any case today the most relevant is that he’s a grand prix winner and a deserving grand prix winner.” Advert | Become a RaceFans supporter and go ad-free 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix Browse all 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix articles via RaceFans - Independent Motorsport Coverage https://www.racefans.net/

This year has been tough (I think we can ALL agree on that!) and getting away to the Lake District for October Half Term was just the tonic we needed. You may think that anything past September in the UK is a no go for staying in a campervan but trust me, we had the perfect home from home in the shape of Rooby Doo from Cosy Campers. It had everything we needed including a full heating system to keep us cosy and warm. Isn’t she a beaut?
Tumblr media
The campervan of dreams!
Rooby Doo is quite rightly the pride and joy of Rich, Dani and Reuben the family behind Cosy Campers who are dedicated to making your campervan holiday one to remember. You can choose to keep it simple, or you can add in optional extras for a little luxury, tailoring your bespoke campervan experience to your needs.
We fell somewhere in the middle, it was our first time staying in a campervan with the boys (aged 2,3 and 6 years) so I desperately wanted it to go smoothly, and be a holiday to remember. I was also aware that because we were booking an October break that we’d need an outdoor but dry area. So I hired the drive away awning too, hoping that it would give the boys a bit of extra space and free up some room in the van. We were mindful of the fact that Rooby Doo is absolutely beautiful inside, so the awning actually proved to be invaluable for keeping our muddy boots outside and the van lovely and clean.
At the time of booking I had planned to pack light for this trip (which we did) but outdoor wet weather gear for the 5 of us was bulky and took up a lot of room so after a last minute phonecall to Dani I arranged to include the additional lockable storage box too.
Tumblr media
Cosy Campers is based in our home town of Leek in the Staffordshire Moorlands, on the edge of the Peak District. After a run through of all things campervan, Ben drove Rooby Doo home and we loaded her up with small boys and luggage.
Adventure Awaits
I can’t tell you how much I was looking forward to our staycation adventure. Autumn is my favourite time of year, I love all the colours as the leaves turn and the lake district is absolutely beautiful at this time of year.
Tumblr media
Perfect for those Autumn getaways
Ben took to driving the van with ease, helped by the automatic transmission – we cruised up the motorway until the cars became fewer and the scenery expanded before us. Two out of the three boys snoozed most of the way. Stanley was in the back with Eli, he did a great job passing him his bottle and generally entertaining him until he fell asleep. As Rooby Doo has 3 seats upfront, we had James between us, which worked well as I could keep a check on his bloods (he’s type 1 diabetic) and care for him on route, he wasn’t much company though!
You know how I mentioned loving Autumn, the crisp sunny days with misty starts…yeah, well scrap that because I came back down to earth with a bump! We arrived at our pitch to high winds and torrential rain, you’ve got to laugh! Luckily we’re not put off by bad weather.
Our first job was to put the awning up so that we had a little extra room for storage. Cosy Campers had previously sent us two YouTube video tutorials on how to erect and attach the awning to the van which we’d watched a couple of times in the run up to our holiday. Unfortunately we had little phone signal on site so we’re unable to access the videos again.
Tumblr media
Rooby Doo with driveaway awning
I’m not going to lie, we struggled to suss the awning out at first but the cold horizontal rain hitting us square in the face didn’t help, neither did world war 3 breaking out in the van because apparently we weren’t going quick enough. We did get to grips with it eventually and not needing poles etc was a lifesaver, the inflatable structure of the awning went up quickly and with little effort. We took extra care to peg everything down securely because of the gusting wind. It didn’t end in divorce, and the boys didn’t kill each other so I’m calling it a win.
We unpacked and put the non essential items into the awning to give us a bit more space inside. We then threw the boys into the awning to play with transformers while we popped the kettle on. We had made the decision not to take any screens with us apart from our phones so there was a lot of chucking the boys into the awning throughout our stay, they even made a den in there at one point, so I definitely recommend adding it to your holiday if you have children.
Tumblr media
One of life’s finest views, kettle on!
We saw some other campervanning pros on our site that had put up fairy lights and bunting inside their awnings, one even had a disco ball and lights! They looked so lovely in the evening it would definitely be something to think about, especially for a Summer trip.
Home From Home
The interior of Rooby Doo is just stunning. Everything from the pale blue units to the tan leather seats. The cupboards look small but were tardis like and contained everything we would ever need….from tea and coffee, to a torch and first aid kit.
The attention to detail was breath taking. From branded mugs that looked the part, to the fact that Cosy Campers just wanted us to have the very best experience possible. We were left a hamper packed with goodies, including two bottles of prosecco, luxury cookies, chocolates and jellybabies.
Tumblr media
Our hamper and treat bags were a lovely surprise!
There were also 3 Halloween themed treat bags for the boys. One of which was completely diabetic friendly. Homemade monster crispie cakes, stickers, sweetie cones and a game of spooky snap were amongst the ghoulish goodies! There was also a lovely handwritten card wishing us the best holiday. I expect the jellybabies in our hamper were intentional too, as they are our preferred hypo treatment for James and I think I had mentioned it to Dani during one of our ‘mum’ conversations prior to the holiday. It made us feel very cared for and pampered, the planning around James’s diabetes was just so thoughtful and special. It was a very personalised experience which in turn made it feel luxurious.
The pop top roof was easily the bit the boys enjoyed most, and where two of them slept. Most of our time spent in Rooby Doo involved a view of a little head or legs dangling down from the roof. The fact they had to climb up there was everything small boys dream of. When the boys weren’t chilling ‘upstairs’ as they liked to call it, the base of the roof can be pushed up to give added head height in the living space of the van. We had one morning of lovely sunshine so we fully made the most of it and put the roof up and opened up the scenic windows. I can just imagine what it would be like in the Summer, the front of the pop top canopy can be completely removed too, it would be the best seat in the house.
Tumblr media
We would love to experience this in the Summer too
By far the best feature in Rooby Doo for our trip anyway, was the heating system. We had horrendous weather and came back from every day trip out soaking wet, mud splattered and ruddy cheeked. Dark nights in Rooby Doo were warm and cosy however thanks to the diesel heater. We took our normal bedding, deciding against sleeping bags and we were lovely and warm at night.
Summary
When I booked our holiday with Cosy Campers I was slightly concerned that a campervan holiday with such young children would be a bit of a nightmare if I’m honest. I was proved wrong thankfully, apart from a bit of impatient bickering while we sorted out the awning the boys seemed to take to the campervan life with ease. They were happy to stay ‘upstairs’ or in the awning while we put the beds away or cooked etc. You do have to be quite organised though, and do things in a certain order when there’s so many of you in a relatively small space.
Would we do it again? Absolutely, in a heartbeat. If we had such an amazing time with the worst weather imaginable, then a Summer trip in Rooby Doo would be out of this world. We loved everything about our Half Term holiday, even the trips to the toilet block in the middle of the night gave us some great views of Mars, although you can add a porta loo to your booking if trekking across a field in a fetching wellies and pj’s combo isn’t your thing.
Tumblr media
Autumn is so beautiful
It was an exciting adventure, and a perfect way of seeing the beautiful Lake District. I’ve decided that lying in a campervan bed, all snuggled up with my babies and listening to the wind and rain on the roof has become one of my favourite things to do, and something we WILL do again.
What sets Cosy Campers apart from other hire companies is the fact that when you book with them you feel like you are part of the family right up until you return Rooby Doo. Nothing is too much trouble and they go out of their way to create the perfect experience for you. Little touches, make a big difference fo example they included a wild guide to the area where we were staying which helped to make it a stress free experience. We could look up outdoor scenic places to visit which was especially helpful during these ‘covid-19 times’ and being a clinically vulnerable family.
Just driving around in Rooby Doo taking in the beautiful countryside was a treat in itself, and there’s nothing better than finding a quite spot to pull over and enjoy a cuppa with a view.
We are absolutely hooked on the campervan life!
Tumblr media
Booking a Cosy Campers holiday definitely gets the thumbs up from us!
*As we are now in a second national lockdown unfortunately non essential travel is prohibited*

“Kim Seokjin!”
“What?!”
“What did you do with the firewood?”
“What do you mean by ‘what did I do to the firewood’?” He continues with cutting the pork belly into strips, refusing to meet your eyes. You continue staring at him though, fully aware that he knows you’re still looking at him. Narrowing your eyes, you take your eyes off your husband as you study your surroundings.
Aha! You spot the half-empty bottle of olive oil hiding behind the legs of a cot. “You’ll never catch him slipping,” they said. Pfft. If only you had a penny for all the times you’ve proven that wrong.
“Why won’t the wood light up then?” Testing him, you bend over to grab the bottle of oil, wanting to see if Seokjin’s finally going to confess and admit having thought of cooking oil as an alternative for kerosene. He deliberately ignores your question, taking a quick glimpse at the glass container in your hands under the guise of stretching his limbs and admiring the view.
Tsk-ing at him, you roll your eyes, placing the bottle of oil back where you found it. Might as well hide the only evidence of your husband’s ‘supposed’ boy-scoutedness.
“Can’t believe I married a bloody idiot,” you mutter under your breath, huffing as you replace the oil-covered wood with new ones. Your husband of a week inhales exaggeratedly, incredulous features on his face as he slowly turns toward you. The leaves beneath his shoes rustle loudly with each movement of his. “You’re calling me, the one and only Kim Seokjinius, an idiot?” he drawls, emphasizing each word with every step he takes towards you.
He trudges until his face is mere inches away from yours, chests almost pressing against each other. Smirking, he leans forward, breath fanning against your ear as he whispers, “I am your idiot though. Learn to deal with it, missus.” Your own breath hitches in your throat, goosebumps forming on your skin. Surely, Seokjin saying the words ‘idiot’ and ‘missus’ in one breathing wasn’t supposed to have that kind of effect right?
Leaning back to look down on you, a devilish smirk plays on his lips. That can’t be good. His hands shoot out to poke at your sides, tickling you out of your wits. “Seokjin!” you squeal, trying to get out of his grasp. For some miraculous reason, you do, running away from him as you circle the camp site.
Your husband quickly manages to catch up without having to exert much effort, taking you in his arms. The impact of his collision pushes you downward, and with Seokjin’s quick instincts, he twists his body just in time to take the fall - thankfully though, he just lands on grass. Seokjin still winces a little at the fall, and you quickly check up on him to make sure he’s alright. He assures you he’s just fine, confirming it by reattaching his grip on your sides.
Writhing under his grasp for the second time tonight, you breathlessly plead for the release of his hands on your waist. Heeding to your request a minute later, he collapses beside you, pulling you closer with the hand he has under your shoulders.
“It’s beautiful out here, yeobo,” you comment, slightly breathless in awe at the sight of the night sky. You had opted to revisit New Zealand for your honeymoon, partly because being one with nature brought you the tranquility that could never be afforded by your apartment back in Seoul.
Now, as you gaze at the stars above, while lying down on the grass, the cold breeze softly hitting your face, with your husband by your side - this felt like the summit of ‘relaxation’. You felt like this was the only time you had even paused to take an actual breather after a year of wedding preparations, pre-nuptial events, the ceremony itself… it was all delightful, admittedly, but boy was it tiring.
“Don’t call me that,” Seokjin murmurs, propping himself up on an elbow to look at you. “You don’t like it?”
“Nope. In fact, I love it. I love it very much.” Slowly, he leans toward you, pressing his pillowy lips against yours. Seokjin cups your face in one hand, drawing you closer as he kisses you deeply. Returning the kiss with just as much fervor, your skin starts to prickle with goosebumps and you’re certain it’s not from the coldness of the night.
As Seokjin suggestively plays with the hem of your shirt, he lets the pads of his fingers trail slowly under your shirt until he cups your breast in his cold hand. Gasping at the sensation, your grip on his forearms tighten as you push your chest against him further to goad him on.
You feel your husband smile through the kisses he first places on your neck, then your jaw, slowly but surely traveling south. Seokjin tentatively lifts your shirt up, and getting bolder by the second, you feel his fingers dance lightly on your skin, eventually trailing higher to cup your breasts and knead them slightly.
Moaning wantonly, Seokjin ruts his hips against yours, feeling his erection straining in his sweatpants. As he Seokjin latches his lips on that weak spot on your neck, you pry your eyes open to watch your husband. All of a sudden, you’re reminded that you are not within the confines of the campervan, nor are you inside the cabin just a five-minute walk away. “Jin, baby, we’re outside…”
“So?” He asks, not looking up from your chest, “...does it bother you?” You’re genuinely surprised at his answer, not knowing he had a closeted exhibitionist inside of him. He’s also relatively quiet during sex, so this newly discovered side of your husband is definitely something for the books.
“You mean you don’t mind at all? What if people will see us? What if some sick pap tryna get us caught?” Your inquiries finally get his attention, momentarily pausing his ministrations. Sometimes you had to remind him that he was still one of the biggest celebrities in the world, and it doesn’t really matter if he’s in a secluded place like this campsite, he’d still be recognized somehow.
“________, darling. I really don’t mind. Unless you do?” Seokjin asks, blown-out pupils boring into your own. You shake your head no at once. “Well, that’s settled then. Plus, we just got married a week ago, this is bound to happen at some point. And besides, if somebody will try to snap a photo, well...that’s a story we’re gonna tell Kim Seokjin junior, who’ll be headlining the news even before he was made.” Your husband’s reasoning, albeit out of this world and downright scandalous, is enough to convince you that nothing bad was going to happen. But, wait! Your dinner…
 “Jin!! The samgyupsal though!!”
Seokjin pushes himself upward, “Are you honestly trying to kill the mood here babe? You can just say the word, you know.” he deadpans, completely unamused.
“No, I mean, we’re still having dinner afterwards, right? I just wanted to make sure you at least covered the food so we won’t have to fight with other creatures for our dinner.”
“Of course, darling. Now, where were we?”
Seokjin unzips your jacket with a newfound sense of urgency, and you let out a squeal as he rips your shirt in half, your lace bra along with it. He takes off his jacket as well, and as he sucks on your pert nipple harshly, causing you to arch your back for more, he slides his jacket underneath you for comfort.
He continues his assault on your breasts, leaving purple bruises littered across your chest. Languidly, he peppers wet kisses down your torso, already thumbing the waistband of your leggings in the process.
Discarding your bottoms just as quickly as your tops, Seokjin lets your leggings loosely bunch up around one of your ankles as he kisses you hungrily, hands busy pushing your legs further apart. He detaches himself from you, sitting on his calves as he studies to sight of you ready and open just for him.
“Fuck, I could just have my dinner right here, right now,” Seokjin husks, taking his bottom lip between his teeth. Without any further warning, Seokjin dives in, licking a bold stripe against your folds. The sensation makes you squirm underneath him, but your husband holds you still by keeping a hand on your stomach. Seokjin licks in wide, slow strokes to explore your nether lips, soon using fingers to hold them open and put pressure on your clit.
Languidly sliding his fingers against your sodden folds, Seokjin slowly inserts a finger inside you, finally breaching your entrance. He takes his time in indulging you, reveling in your responsiveness. Endless moans of pleasure fall from your mouth as your hands find purchase on his temple, pulling on his hair when you feel his teeth graze against the swollen bud. You feel the pressure building up in the pit of your stomach, and just when you were about to orgasm, Seokjin pulls away, leaving you a heaving mess on the grass.
“I want us to climax together…as… as you know…husband and wife?” Your face crumples at his request, heart likewise swelling with affection inside your chest.
As Seokjin finally pulls his sweatpants down to free his length, you sit up, wanting to pleasure him just as he had done to you. He waves you off quickly, too much of his blood rushing down south to even form a coherent sentence, “No…just…you, now.” He helps you to shift to all fours, wiggling your ass in the air just to tease him. He delivers a slap on your bottom as punishment.
He starts to enter you from behind, groaning as he feels your walls clamp around him tightly. Continuing to slide in until he bottoms out, Seokjin shudders as you clench your pussy around his cock. “You’re always so fucking tight,” he comments, exhaling shakily as feels himself snugly fit inside you.
When you push backward to urge him to move, Seokjin starts to move his hips, beginning with a steady pace for a few seconds until he starts to relentlessly fuck you from behind, steadying you in your position with his hands tightly gripping your waist. Cries of pleasure fall from your lips with every thrust, while your elbows are threatening to give in under his weight. Fuck, you feel wilder than the other creatures that are probably lurking around the area. Your husband probably hears your thoughts, settling an even harder, faster pace than before as he chases his high.
That familiar knot is starting to coil inside you for the first time since your wedding, and as Seokjin feels you tighten around him, his thrusts start to slow down, this time reaching deeper than ever before; his cock hitting your g-spot wonderfully with every movement of his hips. He pulls you both up, standing on both your knees.
Nestling you snug against his chest, Seokjin guides your hand to rest on his nape so he can gain access to your breasts. Massaging them sensually, he brings you both to your highs with his caresses and whispers of love and passion in your ears. With all your senses heightened and your husband deliciously sliding in and out of you, you finally orgasm, Seokjin following seconds later.
“Thanks for fulfilling my deepest fantasies, love,” Seokjin whispers, collapsing back to the grass after pulling his sweats back up, likewise covering you up with his jacket as he apologizes for your torn clothes.
“Oh, you’ve always wanted to do it under the stars?”
“Close, but nope. You, princess, are my deepest fantasy.”

Day 1
I’m sitting in the communal room of a small campsite and “room” rental place in Marfa, TX called El Cosmico. The “rooms” are converted trailers parked around with names like Royal Palace and Imperial Mansion. It’s not a “trailer park” though. The whole place has a Mad Max-chic vibe that we both like a lot. Everything is clean and quiet.
Tumblr media
The common room smells heavily of incense. From the counter you can buy a sachet of smokable herbs called “Marfa Shag,” but I only smoke Marfa Shag when I drink so I’ll keep my $12. It was 1/3 of the price to camp here for the night compared to the cheapest hotel and we get to park the campervan close to the bathrooms which is a blessing and a curse. The Wi-Fi password was “marfasky!” and, instead of pronouncing it “Marfa sky,” Diana said “Mar-fass-key” and it was funny and cute.
Tumblr media
We left Austin, TX this morning at 10:09 AM CST in a cloudy, misting 55 degrees Fahrenheit. We headed West along Highway 290 through Dripping Springs where we realized we were hungry. We stopped in a coffee shop that supposedly had breakfast tacos called “Mazama Coffee Co” and when we realized they had no tacos left. Down the block was a tiny, is-this-place-even-open? taco joint called “Flores Breakfast & Lunch” where we got some damned good breakfast tacos. We sat on a bench outside, as there was no actual inside to this place. We warmed up with a nondescript green sauce that packed a punch.
Tumblr media
Bellies full of egg, cheese, chorizo, and four tortilla, we bade Dripping Springs goodbye and continued West.
About an hour into driving as we approached Fredericksburg, TX I realized that I was falling asleep at the wheel. We pulled into a Dollar General for paper plates and York Peppermint Patties. Diana took the wheel from there and I climbed into the back of the campervan, laying horizontally. That was probably a dumb idea, as an accident would see my Superman-ing my way through the windshield. But I was tired and it’s our Honeymoon and we’ll die horribly the way we very well please. I dozed off.
I woke back up when we were turning onto Interstate 10.
Finally, the road opened up and the sky cleared, mostly. The cars dispersed and gradually, things went from rolling hills to slightly taller rolling hills. Eventually, it became rolling megalithic formations covered in a thin sheet of green. (Why are all the tops flat? I have no idea. If only there were a rectangle with all recorded human knowledge in my pocket.) We both marveled at how small we felt. We thought about what impossibly ancient courses of events had to occur to cause all of this, and then also have us driving a campervan through it at that moment.
Tumblr media
We listened to Blind Guardian.
We stopped at a Love’s in Sonora, TX for gas and bottles of water. They had a super long squeegee that would make any Hill Country panhandler jealous. I used it. I have no idea if Sonora exists beyond that Love’s. There was only a sign and a gas station.
We got back on I-10 and my squeegee work was immediately rendered unnecessary as bugs the size of fun size Milky Ways assaulted the windshield for the next five hours.
We stopped for gas and a leg-stretch at the only Sunoco/Burger King combo I have ever seen in my life in a dump of a town called Ft. Stockton. Diana tried to use the bathroom but it smelled more like Ft. Stinkton and we left. We went to a Stripes and used their bathroom instead. I bought a bottle of water and a pre-packaged dill pickle. It was crunchy as hell.
I made an illegal u-turn in front of a police officer who either was blind or very, very tired.
We saw a dead boar on the side of the road the size of a Saint Bernard. Its tusks were no joke.
We pulled into Marfa, TX at 06:16 PM CST. We stopped at a small Tex-Mex place called “Mondo’s” and learned the difference between green and red enchiladas. We both prefer green. The salsa was exceptional and everything else was reasonable. The iced tea had a not unpleasant smokiness to it. The waitress knew everyone in there. A table of townies sat down. She asked about their kids as they ordered “the one with the holla-peenyer peppers on it.” We paid $24 and left.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We pulled into El Cosmico and paid for our stay. We took a brief all around, hearing mostly birds and the occasional passing car. People talked, but never too loudly. Everyone is just hanging out or sleeping. We found some hammocks and had a lie down, sitting in silence and just listening. We played with the camera a bit.
Tumblr media
We spoke to the woman at the front counter about seeing the Marfa Lights, a supposedly paranormal event that happens pretty regularly with colored balls floating in the sky above the Chihuahuan Desert. They don’t always show. Sounds like the bats under the Congress bridge, except aliens instead of bats.
We drove 10 miles out to the “Marfa Lights Viewing Station” where a few dozen or so people gathered to look for anything that wasn’t an airplane in the sky. It was cold and uneventful besides the one shooting star we saw. I commented on how nice it was that everyone there was courteous, only mostly whisper-talking. Fifteen minutes later a bunch of teenagers showed up. We left shortly after.
After much finagaling the we fell asleep in the back of the campervan. I woke up in the middle of the night to light rain on the roof. It was cold, but not colder than that one night we spent in the back of the Toyota Highlander parked at a hotel parking lot in Nashville, TN during the east coast blizzard of January 2015.

Yes, we've celebrated the Fourth in all kinds of ways. From fireworks on the street at my parents house to fireworks at the homes of family friends to spending it with my own friends at a cabin on one of the islands with a stash of M-80s.
And variations on all of that.
On at least one occasion my mom, dad, and I drove over to Queen Ann Hill before a fireworks show on the Space Needle and staked out a spot at Kinnear Park.
We stood there for hours until the fireworks blew.
Even now I'm not sure if that was a good bargain.
Bean bag chairs definitely woulda helped.
After we were married, the Fourth was characterized by huge backyard parties at the home of Kimmer's parents complete with red, white, and blue party decorations.
Later still it was barbecues on the patio at the building where my parents live.
Even later still it was whatever we figured out with the two of us, Linzy, and our friend, Susan.
Of course after Linzy moved out of the house, her participation was contingent on plans she had with her own friends. Which is how things worked when I was her age.
And so on.
Tumblr media
Yesterday, we actually started the day as the three of us. Linzy came over in the morning at ten thirty and we hung out at Cafe Umbria in South Lake for hot drinks. Afterward we hit Trader Joe's in Ballard to pick up fixins for a picnic. Then we drove over to that parking garage between The Expedia Group and the Magnolia Bridge and walked over to what Google Maps calls The Beach At Expedia Group. The beach faces Pier 90 and, while we were there, The Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Sea cruise liner was also there.
It's huge, by the way.
Huuuuuuuge.
They were in the process of boarding with an eye toward pulling away from the pier at 4.
Now, The Beach At Expedia Group features a kind of terrace that's shaped by low cement walls. Kimmer climbed a bit and found us a corner at the top of the terrace to use as a bench for the three of us. Which worked out just fine.
Tumblr media
I don't remember feeling tired... but I sure look it. I was up 'til 2AM a few nights ago and I'm still recovering. 🙁
However.
Being outdoors. Picnic-ing. In lovely weather that would soon break out into a straight up sunny day... yeah.
That's definitely a road to my recovery. 😊
By around two in the afternoon we've got Linzy dropped off at her place and now we're headed north because there's a bunch of preparing to do for a quick camping trip we're setting out on, well... today, actually.
So yesterday we hit GoodWill in Shoreline then move our way up to the Lynnwood Dollar Tree, Trader Joe's, and Spouts. Then north further still to that new Dollar Tree, then Value Village and the Neighborhood Walmart.
By the time we're done, we're pretty stocked with food and supplies for our trip. And this:
Tumblr media
Kimmer finally has the pieces she needs to temporarily turn our minivan into a smaller version of the Escape Campervan we rented for our National Parks adventure. So now we've got an actual double bed with plenty of storage underneath... and we have the kitchen setup we had before at the back of the van but without the pull-out refrigerator.
After Kimmer finishes the van conversion, we celebrate with a coupla vanilla ice cream cones at McDonald's... then head back for the fireworks extravaganza over Lake Union that starts at quarter past ten and lasts twenty-five minutes.
By the time it's over, there's a mass of smoke hovering above the lake, drifting toward downtown.
Before the show, I'd talked with my dad to wish he and mom a happy Fourth and he reminded me that there haven't been fireworks over the lake for the last two years. Which I kind of forgot.
What I won't forget about this Fourth and the Lake, though, is that after turning off all the lights in our place, I turned on that Pink Floyd classic album, Dark Side of the Moon to provide the soundtrack for the show.
And maybe it's because once upon a time we'd experienced Laser Floyd at the Pacific Science Center, but...
It was perfect!
And that was our Fourth this time around.
😊

Tumblr media Tumblr media
New Zealand. The land of Middle Earth, Great Walks, kiwis, backpackers, adventure sports, delicious wine and pristine wine regions.
And a land that sucks all your money from your wallet like a giant vacuum.
I first visited New Zealand eight years ago. The country was so much more expensive than I thought it would be. Back then, I was a cheap(er) backpacker and focused on saving as much money as I could. I cooked most of my meals, hitchhiked, skipped all the costly adventure sports, and drank a diet of cheap boxed wine and happy hour beer.
But, when I visited earlier this year, I changed my MO this trip. I was going to say yes to everything, regardless of cost.
I wanted to really know how much money you need in New Zealand for a variety of budgets. What’s it cost to be a broke backpacker? A mid-range traveler? Or a mix of the two? What if you want to eat out a lot but also hike or sleep in a van? What if you want to do all the adventure activities in the world? What if you just let the tab pile up?
So I became the Nomadic Matt of many budgeting hats. And, in the process I learned a lot about, the true cost of traveling New Zealand.
Let’s break it down.
How much did I spend in New Zealand?
Tumblr media
Over the course of my 25-day visit, I spent $4,550.90 NZD ($3,292.74 USD), averaging $182 NZD ($131.68 USD) per day.
That’s a lot of money. Like holy hell a lot of money! Way more than my $50 USD a day guideline.
Here’s how my spending broke down:
Accommodations: $913.64 NZD ($661.05 USD)
Spark phone service: $164.68 (119.15)
Pharmacy: $39.98 (28.93)
Internet: $15.29 (11.06)
Groceries: $235.52 (170.41)
Transportation: $1,014.32 (733.90)
Activities: $823.65 (595.94)
Restaurants: 1343.82 (972.30)
Total: $4550.90 NZD ($3,292.74 USD)
I spent a lot of money, but, again, I said yes to everything. I knew taking scenic planes, trains, and helicopter rides; staying in private rooms, and meals out was going to cost a lot of money.
But even I was surprised how much I spent when I wasn’t tracking my spending.
Looking back, there were things I could have done to lower my costs.
I could have saved money by eating out less or by booking less expensive Airbnbs instead of hostel private rooms (which are always a terrible deal but I wanted to be around other travelers).
With a lot of ground to cover, I couldn’t always spend a day on a bus so flying really increased my costs. Additionally, the scenic rail I took (while awesome) was also $159 NZD! And transportation to Stewart Island is $160 NZD! Instead of doing them all, I could have picked one or the other.
And I definitely blew through way too much phone data. As a person not used to data limits, being data limited at hostels (around 1 GB per day) was new territory for me as I tried to stream Netflix. I picked up the slack on my phone by just ordering more data and not really thinking about it.
If I was slightly more conscious about my dining, accommodation, and spending habits, I easily could have cut $20 USD or more per day from my budget.
How much does New Zealand really cost?
Tumblr media
So how much do you need to budget in New Zealand then? If you’re going to travel like I did, budget $110-130 USD a day. This will let you travel carefree and basically do anything you want (within reason). Fly, take scenic trains, expensive ferries, scenic flights, drink expensive wines, have expensive dinner – New Zealand is your oyster!
A more “I want to do a lot but still want to be budget”, a budget of around $142 NZD ($100 USD) a day will get you private rooms in Airnbs, a large number of activities (I let no winery go unvisited!), the occasional flights, and restaurant meals about 70% of the time.
If you’re going on a backpacker’s budget, I’d say you need around $71-85 NZD ($50-60 USD a day). That will get you a hostel dorm room, bus transportation, happy hour drinks, one or two expensive activities (bungy, scenic flights, skydive, etc), and mostly self-cooked meals (around 70-80% of your meals).
If you are going to rent a campervan or self-drive, you could knock $15 NZD ($11 USD) daily off your budget since your van will act as accommodation too. On an even tighter budget, with Couchsurfing, hitchhiking, few if any activities, and cooking 90% or more of your meals, you could get by on $40 NZD ($28 USD) per day. It’s not easy to do but I met travelers who did it. It requires a lot of discipline though.
Here are some sample costs:
Spark Phone plan (with 4.5 GB of data) – $40 NZD ($20 with 1.5 GB of data)
Buses booked far in advance – $1 NZD per ride
Buses booked last minute – $20-60 NZD
Airfare – Varied wildly but you’re looking at least $50 NZD each way.
Scenic trains – $159 NZD each way
Full-day Bay of Islands cruise – $259 NZD
Hobbiton tour – $84 NZD
Nevis Bungy – $275 NZD
Franz Josef Glacier Guides Heli Hike – $459 NZD
Waitomo glow worm caves – $51-246 NZD depending on if you walk, raft, or abseil
Hostel dorms – $20-30 NZD
Hostel private rooms – $55-$100 NZD
Airbnb – $50+ NZD for a shared location, $80+ NZD for a whole unit
Wine tours – $150+ NZD
Drinks – $8 NZD for a beer, $10-15 NZD for wine or cocktails, and $5 NZD for a happy hour drink
Bar crawls – $20-30 NZD
Casual restaurant meal – $15-25 NZD
Fast food meal – $11-20 NZD
How to SAVE money in New Zealand
Tumblr media
Spending so much money taught me a lot of about how to save money in New Zealand. Where your budget will go to die in this country is with activities and meals. Adventures activities are crazy expensive, most of them costing $200 NZD or more! I mean a heli-hike in Franz Josef was $450 NZD! That’s CRAZY! Moreover, with most meals costing $20-30 NZD ($15-22 USD), your budget is going to be gone quickly if you eat out a lot (food represented 34.7% of my total spending).
New Zealand’s groceries weren’t that expensive (it’s an agricultural country after all), and there are a lot of free hikes to replace those expensive activities. Taking advantage of these should help lower your costs substantially. When I was in Wanaka, I only spent around $50 NZD ($36 USD) each day ($30 for my dorm, $20 for food and drink, and $0 for activities since nature was free!). It can be done.
Simply put, New Zealand doesn’t have to be expensive if you don’t want it to be. After all, if it was, so many backpackers wouldn’t come here in droves. I mean how many hordes of backpackers go to Norway? Not a lot! Why? It’s f*ing expensive unless the only thing you do is camp! New Zealand has a middle ground. It’s whatever it is you want it to be.
Here is how to save money while there:
Cook (a lot) – I know this is going to sound crazy but, and I can already hear the comments coming, the food scene in New Zealand isn’t that mind-blowing. Yes, there are nice cafés, some hip gastronomy, and really delicious meals, but nothing that’s so mouth watering delicious you have to blow your budget on it. I never walked away going “That was a meal I couldn’t get at home! I’m glad I just spent $60 bucks!”
No. In fact, my biggest regret is that I spent so much on food. I should have cooked a lot more. I feel like I wasted a lot of money not doing so. I probably could have saved about $800 NZD by cooking more and, honestly, I don’t feel like I would have missed anything too great.
So cook as much as possible. You’re going to save a ton of money. Heck, even a burger and fries is $20 NZD! I’m not saying you shouldn’t ever eat out, just do so sparingly.
A week’s worth of groceries will set you back between $80-100 NZD. The cheaper supermarkets are Pak’nSave and Countdown.
Choose your tours wisely – Tours cost a lot of money in New Zealand. Going on just a few is enough to bust any budget and send you home before you had planned. Pick the ones you really want to do and save the rest for another trip.
Hit happy hour – The backpacker bars have cheap happy hours offering $5 NZD drinks — take advantage of them.
WWOOF it – WWOOFing is a way to get free accommodation and food in return for working on a farm or in a B&B. You can do it for a few days or a few months. It’s a popular activity with travelers because it lets you travel cheaper and longer. Keep in mind, though, most farms will require you to have some experience, as too many inexperienced workers have caused them trouble in the past.
Work at a hostel – Many hostels let you trade a few hours of cleaning and making beds for free accommodation. Ask when you check in if this is possible — it might just save you some money!
Car share – Car shares are a popular transportation option for travelers looking to lower costs — all you need to do is chip in for gas. You can find rides on websites like Gumtree and Craigslist. Additionally, you’ll see people asking for rides on hostel bulletin boards. As for ridesharing apps, check out Thumbs Up NZ or Carpool New Zealand. (I never found a New Zealand version of BlaBlaCar but if anyone knows of one, let me know!)
Couchsurf – While there are not a ton of Couchsurfing options in the country, there are hosts in all of the major cities. If you don’t mind sleeping on a couch or floor, this is not only a way save money on accommodation but also a way to meet some amazing locals too. (Don’t just use this as a free hotel. If you don’t want to interact with your hosts, don’t use this site.)
Hitchhike – Hitchhiking is easy in New Zealand. Besides Iceland, it’s probably the easiest country in the world to hitchhike in. There are plenty of people who will pick you up. Additionally, you can just ask around any hostel and find a ride — everyone is doing the same circuit. I got from Wanaka to Queenstown to Fiordland that way. Between message boards, Couchsurfing forums, the people you meet in hostels, and just thumbing it on the side of the road, you can always find a ride.
Take a free walking tour – There are a few free walking tours in New Zealand, like the Auckland Free Walking Tour or WellyWalks Limited in Wellington, that offer visitors (and locals) insight into each city.
Remember that nature is free – New Zealand, home to the Great Walks of the World, has tons of free outdoor activities. While the adventure sports, wine tours, glacier treks, and boat cruises can eat into your budget, all the trails and walks are free. You can easily fill your day with free hikes, excursions to the lakes, or days on the beach!
And keep in mind the majority of museums in the country are also free!
Get a bus pass – I tend to buy transportation last-minute so I never scored super discount fares, which is where bus passes come in. I bought the $135 InterCity FlexiPass for 15 hours of travel. I’d suggest this since it is hours based and lasts forever. It will save you a lot of money versus booking last-minute tickets on the bus.
You can find out more on how to get around on a budget in my last post. I list a lot of resources there.
Skip the backpacker buses – While they’re fun, backpacker bus tours like the Kiwi Experience, Stray, or Haka are expensive! Best to avoid them if you are on a tight budget. If your budget isn’t so tight and you do want to check them out, be sure to sign up for their mailing lists first — there is always a sale on.
Use Book.me.nz – This website provides last-minute discounts on activities (and pub crawls) throughout the country. If you’re flexible about when you want to do things, you can save up to 60% off attractions and activities! I can’t recommend it enough. It saved me a lot of money.
***
Saving money in New Zealand is about picking and choosing your battles. As you can see, when you just don’t care, costs can really go up. I made plenty of spending mistakes that upped my daily average a lot. But if you get a bus pass, cook a lot of your meals, find rideshares, stick to Airbnb rooms (or split rooms with friends), and campervan it, New Zealand won’t be that expensive.
Just be sure to watch your budget!

Temporary vehicle registration and insurance in California for uk citizen?
Hi, Myself and a friend will be travelling to California next month to purchase a 1960s vw campervan. We will be driving it to the shipping port to export it back to the uk. I've been told we can get a temporary registration which lasts 28 days and will allow us to drive the van. I've been on the californian DMV website but cannot find any more information or the forms. no email address either! So far I just know we will need to have an insurance certificate to get the temporary registration. Couple of questions really, Do I need to purchase a van before I can get the temporary registration? Ideally I would like to go buy a van and drive it away there and then from the seller but Im thinking I'll have to put a deposit down or similar and get the info and go to the DMV before I can take it away? Second question is insurance, I guess the best idea would be to go with an American company. Will they insure a uk citizen who's just over for a few weeks with just a uk driving license? Any suggestions of companies who may do so? In the uk we have a company called swift who only deal online. This would be ideal because then I wouldn't need an address forms/certificates to be sent. Any ideas? Reason were not getin it transported is because we want to do a bit of travelling on route to a east coast port.""

Which car would be better for a 16 year old boy?
A 1984 chevette a 1987 Oldsmobile cutlass ciara or a 1986 NIssan 300zx? If anyone knows insurance costs for these and a teenage boy? I will be 16 next week and may get a car this summer and these are what i'm looking at they are 400-500 dollars each... The Nissan needs a lil work i think. The ciara needs front brakes checked. and the chevette runs but needs a lil work. All of these run and are not expensive. I saw other teenagers having like 20 g's but no I start working next week and will save up my own money to pay for these... No i will not be racing and don't care what anybody would think of me. I'm just asking which of these would be better suited for a teenage guy?

How does private health insurance work?
I am a freshman in high school interested in the medical field and I don't know much about all this health insurance business but I've heard all about this national health care bill and how all these people can't afford to pay for their own health insurance and that's why we are going to national health care and that got me to thinking about why we need national insurance anyway. It's obviously a problem of people not being able to afford private health insurance or not believing private health insurance is worth the cost. So I have a variety of questions about how one pays for it such as: How much do you pay a month? What do you have to pay when you go see a doctor? Are prescription drugs covered/ if not are prescriptions expensive? I know with car insurance your rate goes up if you receive multiple tickets/multiple car accidents and was wondering if your base health insurance pay goes up as well if you have a multitude of health concerns. If you could answer any of these questions I would really appreciate it as I am interested in going into the medical field later in life. I am also open to any other information about private insurance you have. However, I don't want this to become a political debate on national health care as I am purely interested how an individual pays for his own private health insurance.""

How am I supposed to afford car insurance?
I'm driving uninsured right now because for me to get car insurance is $900 every six months. That would crush me financially right now. Between rent and gas, and what little Starbucks pretends to pay me, not to mention food (and sometimes that's one meal a day, and even then it may be stealing expired sandwiches and pastries from the garbage can at Starbucks). So, it's utterly naive of the government to think of driving as a luxury , when in reality- when you have to travel 20 miles a day to get to work at Starbucks- walking is unrealistic. The bus routes do not go by there, by the way. How the hell do they expect a 24-year old man to afford car insurance, when he has to work to earn the money to pay for it, and he has to drive to work, and in order to drive he has to drive illegally?! The @#*%ing system is completely screwed up if you ask me. Don't get me started on how the hell I'm supposed to afford gas these days, either.""
Will my Insurance go any higher if paid off by Collision ?
I bought my Acura in 2006 and have been in mint condition since then. Recently, the snow plougher scratched my car and didnt leave a note. I called the manger of the snow plougher and filed the police report. He took the responsibility but during the report he said that he will give the name of the driver and vehicle later. After few weeks when I didnt hear I called the manager and he said his company will not cover anything and I can do whatever I can.... I called my insurance company and they are willingly to cover through my insurance - Collision, instead of comprehensive. The repair is $2000 + rental car for 9 days ~$2500. My deductible is $100 for collision and $50 for comprehensive. Do you think if they use Collision my insurance rate will go higher ? Will my car insurance go up even more now?
Two weeks ago I rear ended a Ford F150. There was very little damage done to their truck, but my mazda protoge was declared totaled. They sent me a second notice, and it says if they don't here from me in any way of paying back the money they used up to cover the lady's car they will send the information back to AAA and AAA will end up increasing the claim amount.""

Recommendations of car insurance for someone who is an experienced driver but it is their first cover?
My husband has held a driving licence for 10 years. We don't own a car and never have done as we couldn't afford it but fortunately we lived in London so we had good use of public transport. Over this time we have rented a car numerous times and have driven all over England up and down motorways and country roads plus on all our annual holidays abroad. In addition, we have loan of a car for 7 months every year of a family member who goes abroad for the winter (and are on their insurance). We've just moved out of London and have now bought a car but when we've got quotes for insurance (looking at direct quotes as well as websites as via GoCompare) they are expensive ranging from 715 - 1695! When we called up a few insurers to find out why it is this high, they say it's because it's the first insurance he has had and it looks like he's an inexperienced driver. They say that they need proof of his experience to be able to bring the premiums down however when we say we have proof of him being on the family member's insurance as well as being able to show previous car hire rentals they won't accept this. I was wondering if anyone had any advice or know of any insurance companies they'd recommend for situations like this. Many thanks.""

Do you think aero upgrades will cause my insurance to go up?
I live near Virginia international raceway and wanted to add some aero upgrades for my car. I also want to lower it and get performance brakes. Do you think this will increase my insurance greatly? I can't call until tomorrow but I'm just curious what others think.
Becoming car insured in Ontario?
Recently I just acquired my G2. I am an almost-17 year old male, and I wanted to try to clear up a few questions about insurance before going to get some quotes. Firstly, would it be possible for me to have my own separate policy? With my own car - that's how my dad wants it apparently... I know it would be expensive..but I would probably end up choosing only liability coverage. Secondly, would it be possible to somehow prove to the insurance company that I am more responsible than the average stereotypical 17 year old male in hopes of lowering insurance? For example, can high school marks play a factor? I've heard about something like this, although I don't know if it applies to our provincial policies. I know the other factors, such as having a 4 door used sedan, in-class driving course etc. can also help lower the cost. All help is appreciated, thanks!""
Which car insurance company is cheapest for 18 years old?
hi i live in texas and i was wondering which car insurance company is cheapest for me no car accident and no ticket at all if it is possible can you tell me how much you pay
New car for 16 year old. Insurance question?
So I'm 16 and my parents are buying me a 2009-2010 Honda Civic EX-L. Anyways, the insurance will be under my dad's name. Until I get into an accident, I don't need to have insurance. Would it be better to stick to the insurance we have now. Which we have 5 houses under, and 3 cars. Or would it be better to go to another insurance company and not let either know of eachother? Thanks! Oh and don't bother BSing about how it should be under my name... I won't listen so why do it?""
Where do I look for Health Insurance?
In a month I'll be 18. I don't smoke and I'm enrolled in college. I want to find something affordable and simple, but mostly affordable. Who do I talk to and how will I know its a good deal? Another question is when I go to a hospital, do I have to pay it all upfront or can I make payments over time? (In two weeks I'll be getting the Implanon and its been set for about four months and my mother never bothered to tell me we lost out insurance. And the implant can be $400-$800 and I dont know the cost of a visit to a OBGYN at a hospital.) What else do I need to know about insurance?""
Pregnant with no insurance?

What's reasonable insurance quote for new driver (UK)?
Hi Everyone! I'm a new UK driver searching insurance quotes for my Ford escort (engine size 1.4). I'm thinking third party only for starters. What sort of ammounts should I consider to be reasonable offers? Also, must I pay the premium in one lump sum? P.S: I'm 23 years old... Cheers!

Getting to Know – Alive Network
This post Getting to Know – Alive Network first appeared on The Wedding Community Blog
Company Name: Alive Network
Interview With: Gemma Cater, Entertainment Coordinator
Location / Coverage: We’re based in Staffordshire, but our artists perform UK-wide and globally!
Who are Alive Network?
Alive Network is the UK’s biggest and best loved source of live wedding entertainment and wedding bands.
How many people work at Alive Network?
23 music-obsessed people work for Alive Network…
Nine Entertainment Coordinators (the lovely voices at the end of the telephone).
Four sound engineers and producers working in our in-house studios.
Three in our Talent Team, scoping out and supporting the latest and greatest artists for our customers.
How did Alive Network get started and how long have you been going?
Dave Bevan founded Alive Network in 1999. Back then, Dave was a full-time (curtain-haired!) professional guitarist with big ambitions. He wanted to give couples access to stylish, professional-calibre bands and artists, playing the kind of music that cool young couples loved, and similar to the chart bands they were fans of… rather than amateur fogeys playing tired hits from days of old!
As a musician himself, Dave knew there were artists out there who could do better, and that wedding guests would totally love (we all deserve a good party!). Coupled with that, he wanted to help talented musicians make a living from music (cue Dave’s *eureka!* moment!). And so began his quest in sourcing, developing and supporting the best of the UK’s musical and artistic talent. Hooking them up with promoters, event organisers and music fans (like you!), providing access to great live music.
Nearly two decades, 5,000+ artists and 100,000+ events later, Alive Network has its own in-house recording studio, supporting original artists in their pursuit of success in the wider music industry, while developing our catalogue of the UK’s best bands, musicians, DJs, entertainers and suppliers, so you can pick the cream of our crop, making amazing memories for your biggest day ever.
Dave has shorter hair, but still messes around on guitars, and still believes that live entertainment makes everything better. We’ve seen it. It really does.
Where do you cover?
Most of our artists perform all over the UK and internationally.
What services can Alive Network provide for a wedding?
Alive Network exists to help you find the perfect live wedding entertainment ideas for your most special wedding day moments, and we offer a range of cool services just for you, including…

We know it’s hard to book a musician you’ve never heard before. That’s why we’re constantly adding live recorded samples of their work to their profile pages. There’s also videos, sound clips and photos, so you can see what you’re getting before you book.
Personal Shopper Service
While you can narrow down your search online, you can also book a consultation with one of our expert Entertainment Coordinators, at a time that suits you. They’re great listeners and can discuss your style and preferences, make suggestions and create a totally bespoke entertainment plan for you, removing all your entertainment wedstress.

What do you think will be hot trends for wedding entertainment next year?
Couples are loving a real mix of styles when it comes to their big day entertainment. Hot trends we’re seeing are…
Vintage Wedding Entertainment
The love for all things vintage shows no sign of fading in 2018. Whether it’s ’40s swing and jive, victory rolls, polka dots and florals, the rock and roll of the ’50s, headscarves, Lindy Hopping, retro wedding cars, smooth crooning, and bright colours – it’s always fun!
Entertainment trends in this style include modern-vintage – fun, uber cool and unique artists, often performing contemporary hits with a retro or quirky spin. Epitomising this style are the likes of The Long Straws, gramophone DJs, retro vinyl jukeboxes, swing, jazz and vintage singers, like Billie Knowlson, as well as the ever-hot gin and cocktail bars, like the Campervan Cocktail Bar.
Folksy-Meets-Rustic Barn Dance Wedding Entertainment
Think banjos, hay bales, lanterns, drinking punch from a jars, jigs and reels, roaming musicians, ceilidh, bluegrass, and Mumford and Sons-style bands, like The Nameless Three. It’s simple, honest fun.
DIY Wedding Entertainment
Artisan, super personalised, and lovingly-handmade. From DIY-ing your own disco with a bespoke silent disco soundtrack, to including entertainment in the speeches, having special songs written (check out Will Herring’s talents), and having bespoke stationery created by their caricaturist.
Art Deco
The trend for gorgeous Gatsby-style glamour is still going strong. Elegant, chic and champagne-filled – what’s not to love? Think roaring twenties, Charleston, jazz, beaded dresses, feathers, beads, Absinthe, opulence and extravagance.
Hot entertainment trends include 1920’s jazz and swing bands that perform cool chart tracks in a swing retro style like Hot Harlem, The Bentley Brothers Inc., and Bella and The Bourbon Boys, along with entertainers like the Twin Charleston Dancers, and vintage-style photo booths such as Splendid Booths.
Country Garden Weddings and Village Fetes
Think bunting, lawn games, lively jazz bands like The Quartones, Pimm’s in the park and mobile cocktail bars, artisan ice cream, hot summer days, twinkling fairy lights, fireworks and dancing as the sun goes down. Bliss.
What’s your top tip for couples choosing their wedding entertainment?
Go with your heart. It’s easy to forget in all the crazy planning and spreadsheeting that your wedding is about you as a couple. It should reflect your personalities and celebrate the things you both love in life.
Look for artists who reflect your style and experiences as a couple (who can play your song or favourite film theme, or remind you of a favourite gig or festival you went to), and who seem the sort of folk you’d like to have at your wedding, helping you celebrate.
Finding your perfect entertainment will make your hearts sing – you’ll both know it when you hear it. And if you need help, that’s why we’re here!
What’s the best thing about your job?
The lovely couples, the artists, helping to make couples’ dreams come true – who doesn’t love a good party? There’s nothing more special than making a couple’s start together the best and most memorable it can be.
Random question… If you could provide entertainment for anyone’s wedding, whose would it be and what would you provide?
It’s got to be Queen Bey and Jay Z! They’re heading towards their 10-year anniversary in April 2018, so they could renew their vows with another ceremony and celebration – we’d love to do the entertainment if they did!
Their private and very intimate wedding at Jay-Z’s New York apartment was very spiritual and emotional. The pics make it look like a lavish winter wonderland, in a monochrome style, with branches festooned with icicles hanging from the ceiling, curtains of snow-white orchids, and hurricane lamps filled with candles.
So, to honour this, we’d like to throw them a 10-year anniversary vow renewal with the sparkle and fizz of a Gatsby glitter ball! It’s all about sizzling sophistication, endless extravagance and jaw-dropping opulence.
They’ve made their careers by melding past and present music styles, so it’s got to be modern vintage glamour for their 10-year vow renewals – glittering glam and super cool! As well as both being at the cutting edge of modern music, Jay-Z wrote the score for Baz Luhrman’s 2013 film The Great Gatsby, and Bey has always touted the musical strength of early soul singers, like Etta James and Aretha Franklin. In fact, Bey performed a version of ‘At Last’ at President Obama’s inauguration, a song that is synonymous with Etta James.
Ceremony
So, for the ceremony, we’d choose a classical string quartet performing modern tracks. ‘At Last’ as Bey takes to the aisle, and John Legend’s ‘All Of Me’ for the signing of the register.
Bey’s elegant $5mil wedding rock epitomises the modern vintage bling and opulence of the Gatsby era. The word ‘bling’ just doesn’t do it justice – it’s a stunningly simple 18 karat symbol of their enduring love. Once Jay-Z has put a ring on it for the second time, it’s party time! Bey is a big Stevie Wonder fan, so the quartet could perform a jubilant version of ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered as she and ‘renewed’ hubby join hands and take to the aisle together after the ceremony. *cue the shoulder shimmying*
Drinks Reception
At their drinks reception, the celebratory Stevie Wonder theme could continue with a big brass band performing his classics, in a New Orleans jazz band style. BrassWerk would be perfect to raise the day to the next level.
Jay-Z’s own champagne, Ace of Spades, would launch the drinks reception, served up in style by Alive Network’s professional Mixology Bartenders – champagne cocktails, anyone? With champagne of that name, maybe he’d like a cheeky bit of rock? Rock and pop trio, Ride The Fire, could perform ‘Ace of Spades’ while the mixologists work their magic on his cherished bubbles!
A Bubbleologist could provide some bubbles for the kids, wowing wide-eyed kiddie-winks Blue Ivy, Rumi and Sir Carter, as well as the adults. Dare you not to chase their colourful, enchanting and larger-than-life bubble displays! *pop*
Wedding Breakfast
Keeping the modern vintage glamour and Gatsby style of the roaring twenties, there would have to be some ostentatious touches. Perhaps the Magical Snowdome, or aerialists spinning above guests’ heads at their wedding breakfast? Dramatic, high-energy and expertly-choreographed Aerial Silk Displays, for example.
Evening Party
For their evening party, the couple could have a vintage jazz band headlining, like Bella and The Bourbon Boys, with some accompanying flapper dancers for full on entertainment, like the Twin Charleston Dancers or the Chicago Dancers. Bella and the Boys perform some swinging versions of contemporary tracks – a bit of Coolio’s ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ would go down a storm!
A Gramophone DJ could perform a bespoke set of tracks from a collection of vintage vinyl from the ’30s, ’40s, and ’50s, for that real retro vibe, mixed in with some East Coast hip hop, of course!
What’s your typical day like?
A typical day in the Alive Network office consists of working for clients and artists.
Between the Talent Team and the studio, they’re responsible for:
Welcoming artists into the recording studio, recording, directing, mixing, filming, photographing for their profile pages, to ensure their promo is bang up-to-date.
Gathering feedback from clients and ensuring everyone is on top of their game.
Pulling their Simon Cowell trousers right up tight, and auditioning potential newbies.
Our Entertainment Coordinators are the friendly voices at the end of the telephone. They’re responsible for:
Liaising with clients and artists, and helping to arrange their perfect days.
Researching new acts and entertainment ideas.
Familiarising themselves with venue set-ups (eg. access, where the performance areas are, volume restrictions/sound limiters) so they can best advise clients

The Global Market for Recreational Vehicles is Forecast to Reach 770.5 Thousand Units by 2022
Growing Passion for the “Great Outdoors” & Rising Preference for “Adventure Travel” Drive Growth in the Global Recreational Vehicles Market, According to a New Report by Global Industry Analysts, Inc.
GIA launches comprehensive analysis of industry segments, trends, growth drivers, market share, size and demand forecasts on the global Recreational Vehicles market. The global market for Recreational Vehicles is forecast to reach 770.5 thousand units by 2022, driven by the growing preference for adventure travel among the urban population trapped in nature deprived modern lifestyles.
Reconnecting with life represents the most current trend among the modern population living life in the fast paced digitalized world. Rise in nature tourism, defined as responsible travel to locations endowed with natural splendor and beauty is a direct fallout of the trend towards reconnecting with nature. Spiritual Ecology and Earth Based Judaism are rapidly evolving into religious cults built to unleash mental, spiritual and physical healing into the imperfect urban life. Comprising ecotourism, adventure tourism, extractive tourism, wildlife tourism and nature retreats, nature tourism is rapidly accounting for an increasing share of both international and domestic tourism. One of the most important factors driving the emergence of nature tourism as a viable industry with lucrative commercial opportunity is the growing efforts of governments worldwide to conserve biodiversity and the resulting increase in protected nature reserves. Use of recreational vehicles (RV) is becoming increasingly popular in nature based tourism with people preferring to experience the tourist experience through their own private mode of transportation as compared to mass transit options.
Development of car and camping technologies, and nature parkways are additionally encouraging recreational driving. The development of parkways provides pleasurable driving uninterrupted by traffic congestions and accidents. A growing number of countries including the U.S. are investing in specialized roadways such as landscaped boulevards. Especially suited for recreational vehicles travelling at 35 to 55 miles per hour, the development of parkways plays a major role in encouraging highway recreation and sightseeing.  Unlike freeways and highways which are built for higher speed commuting and transportation, parkways are designed for pleasure driving. The scenario encourages more frequent outdoor expeditions by road to location sites rich in natural scenic beauty, thus directly wielding a positive impact on the RV market. Other major factors spurring market prospects include growth of the travel and tourism industry higher than global GDP; end of mass tourism and search for alternative forms of tourism; development of outdoor recreational infrastructure; affluent aging population seeking exotic vacations and experiences; and fall in oil prices and the ensuing affordability of road transport.
As stated by the new market research report on Recreational Vehicles, the United States represents the largest market worldwide, supported by the rich cultural heritage of RVing” lifestyles as evidenced by the penchant for the nomadic lifestyle of camping and traveling. Europe and Asia-Pacific rank as fast growing markets with CAGRs of over 6.3% and 6.2%, respectively, over the analysis period, led by factors such as rise in freedom camping, popularity of family tourism, development of “alternative” caravan sites and locations and rise in caravanning among the younger people seeking affordable adventure.
Major players in the market include ADRIA MOBIL d.o.o, Erwin Hymer Group, Hymer GmbH & Co. KG, Niesmann + Bischoff GmbH, Forest River Inc., Coachmen RV a Division of Forest River Inc., Palomino RV, Hobby-Wohnwagenwerk Ing. Harald Striewski GmbH, Lunar Caravans, Northwood Manufacturing, Nexus RV, Pilote, Pleasure-Way Industries Ltd., REV Group Inc., Swift Group, Thor Industries Inc., Airstream, Heartland Recreational Vehicles LLC, Jayco Inc., Starcraft RV Inc., K-Z Inc., Tiffin Motorhomes Inc., Triple E Recreational Vehicles, Trigano SA, Chausson, Westfalen Mobil GmbH, Winnebago Industries Inc., among others.
The research report titled “Recreational Vehicles: A Global Strategic Business Report” announced by Global Industry Analysts Inc., provides a comprehensive review of market trends, issues, drivers, mergers, acquisitions and other strategic industry activities of global companies.  The report provides market estimates and projections for all major geographic markets such as the US, Canada, Japan, Europe (France, Germany, Italy, UK, The Netherlands, Sweden, and Rest of Europe), Asia-Pacific (Australia, New Zealand and Rest of Asia-Pacific), and Rest of World. The report analyzes the market by the following product segments in different geographic regions where applicable - Motor Homes (Class A, Class B, and Class C), Travel Trailers (Conventional Travel Trailer and Fifth Wheel Travel Trailer), Campers & Camping Trailers (Folding Camping Trailer and Truck Camper), Motor Caravan, Touring Caravan, and Campervans.
