Renee Cloud(excerpt from full blog)

Before I met Renee, I seen her work at the beginning of the hall where the residences’ studios are. When approaching it at first glance I was little confused but if you stare at long enough you start to find bits and pieces of messages throughout the piece. “Dearly beloved we are gathered here today…”, “love”, “trust” and “how could I have been so stupid” are just some of the phrases that I caught from this piece. My interpretation of this one was different phases of relationships both good and bad. It embodies all the thoughts we have, all the standards we set for ourselves and the other person and all the emotional roller coasters we take ourselves through when wanting another person in our mental, physical and emotional parts of our lives. Renee’s work is messy and random but at the same time thoughtful and engaging. As one of the residents of Goodyear Arts I am sure she will be showing soon and I am looking forward to what direction she will take her works in the future.
