TMAGP begins with Teddy's goodbye party after quitting the OIAR, immediately establishing that unlike the Institute in TMA, employees there actually can quit their jobs. However, Teddy is almost immediately let go from his new job, and has trouble finding a new one, and when he does get hired elsewhere, something seems to be very wrong. Alice leaves to find Sam before Teddy can tell her what's happening, but it seems to be something extremely serious that is frightening him. He also seems to find being away from the OIAR incredibly difficult, unable to switch to working days and seeking employment in the same neighbourhood.

Colin is put on indefinite leave, but is so obsessed with answers that he keeps going back to the OIAR until he is horrically killed there.

Lena was fired, and seems quite happy to tell them all to fuck off, but we are immediately shown Gwen's utter incompetence the moment she's handed Lena's job, because Lena was the only one of them who actually knew what she was doing, and therefore who will likely be called upon in the future.

I don't think you can actually quit the OIAR, or at least, not without major consequences. It's as if it draws them back as if they're caught in idk...A Web....
