pretending i've been tagged in the out of context lines tag game

the rules are if you're tagged you share some lines as you want from your WIP with zero context. I, of course, have not been tagged but would like to share some out of context lines anyway and this is my blog and I make the rules, so. here you are.

“I’m afraid—“ “As well you should be.” This made Grantaire open his eyes, irritated, and Enjolras laughed, amused. “I’m afraid I would say something untoward.” “Speak it.” But Grantaire refused, silently shaking his head.

“Sean Finnerty,” he said, shaking Marion’s hand, and Marion thought that he sounded real grown up for a kid. “Pleasure to meet you.” “Um,” Marion said, mimicking his father when he introduced himself to new neighbors—moments Marion only witnessed from a distance. “Marion Collodi. Likewise?”

Grantaire would allow any number of things, if Enjolras wanted them. Which is probably an absolutely bonkers thing to think about someone you just met, but Grantaire isn’t sure he cares.
