It all happens so fast - the holidays, but life, all of it, too. I remember starting this year with so much uncertainty and now that we’re in the final days, I can’t help but marvel at how it turned out… and how much we had the privilege to see, do and experience in the twelve months, when just twelve months ago, it felt like all of that might still be out of reach. I don’t know what the future holds, but no one does. What I know is that I hope this coming year will prove to be as full of adventure as this one has been. That’s all I want, really - adventures and experiences, preferably lived while wearing fabulous outfits. Whatever you’re wishing for in the coming year, I hope it finds you 🤎 coat and jeans | @mango bag | @sezane #candvamarseille (at Marseille, France) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cmoo1V3rYoD/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

On Sunday mornings, we buy some kind of pastries for breakfast, and relax while we eat them with frequently refilled cups of tea (and coffee for Ian.) We turn on classical music and browse real estate listings for homes we will never be able to afford… that are far beyond what we need, but fun to dream about, anyway. This morning, we’re looking at properties in the South of France. Paris will forever be home but the weather in the south is just so lovely, and I have the best memories of sunny October mornings from our visit to Marseille last year. These are dreams that will never come true, but that isn’t the point - it’s dreaming for the sake of dreaming. After all, if you don’t imagine, nothing ever happens at all ☕️ sweater | @aritzia jeans | @mavijeans #candvamarseille (at Marseille, France) https://www.instagram.com/p/ClwJ2B2rUzq/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Obsessions include sandy hues, French statement doors and combinations thereof… 🤎 I read an article recently that postulated the need to get rid of the Parisienne trope, describing it as racist and misogynistic, ableist and a couple of other unpleasant things. The author wasn’t wrong, exactly, but for me she missed the point of what aspiring to be Parisienne is all about. Yes, there is a certain physical look associated with Parisian style, but I haven’t spent a lifetime trying to change my body to fit that mold. I aspire to Parisian effortlessness - to embracing my messy natural hair, to facing the world with no more make-up than a swipe of mascara and doing so confidently, to wearing what I please with no thought to what others might have to say about it. That, to me, is being Parisian. And it’s a worthy aspiration ✨ beret | @asos trench and dress | @mango boots | @rouje bag | @sezane sunglasses | @rayban #lestyleàlafrançaise #howtobeparisienne #candvamarseille (at Marseille, France) https://www.instagram.com/p/CcIZQZcL5Io/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

It’s always summer in my heart 💛 I know I talk a lot about the weather but it is seriously tough to be a summer girl living in a place where it’s winter for at least half the year, if not longer. So looking forward to sunny skies and bare legs when we get to Italy in a few weeks ✨ sweater | @aritzia dress | @mango sunglasses | @zara #summerforeverplease #mybeigemood #candvamarseille (at Maison Saint Louis - Hôtel Marseille Vieux-Port) https://www.instagram.com/p/CbsEiHHL4d2/?utm_medium=tumblr
