From November 20, 2007 through January 6, 2008, the Metropolitan Museum of Art continued a long-standing holiday tradition with the annual presentation of its Christmas tree in the Medieval Sculpture Hall. A vivid 18th-century Neapolitan Nativity sceneóembellished with a profuse array of diminutive, lifelike attendant figures and silk-robed angels hovering aboveóadorns the candlelit spruce. The exhibit of the crËche was made possible by gifts to The Christmas Tree Fund and the Loretta Hines Howard Fund. ** The Metropolitan Museum of Art‘s permanent collection contains more than two million works of art from around the world. It opened its doors on February 20, 1872, housed in a building located at 681 Fifth Avenue in New York City. Under their guidance of John Taylor Johnston and George Palmer Putnam, the Met’s holdings, initially consisting of a Roman stone sarcophagus and 174 mostly European paintings, quickly outgrew the available space. In 1873, occasioned by the Met’s purchase of the Cesnola Collection of Cypriot antiquities, the museum decamped from Fifth Avenue and took up residence at the Douglas Mansion on West 14th Street. However, these new accommodations were temporary; after negotiations with the city of New York, the Met acquired land on the east side of Central Park, where it built its permanent home, a red-brick Gothic Revival stone "mausoleum" designed by American architects Calvert Vaux and Jacob Wrey Mold. As of 2006, the Met measures almost a quarter mile long and occupies more than two million square feet, more than 20 times the size of the original 1880 building. In 2007, the Metropolitan Museum of Art was ranked #17 on the AIA 150 America’s Favorite Architecture list. The Metropolitan Museum of Art was designated a landmark by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1967. The interior was designated in 1977. National Historic Register #86003556

Pamela Hills, not her real name, asked for her chart to be done. She had a birth time but doubted that it was accurate, we were able to rectify by an hour late but we all happily settled on Gemini 23. Pamela married late in life, having fallen victim to the current idea of overpopulation in the world and believed in “zero population” growth. She has Saturn in her Ninth House, which is striking, is that is how she did meet her husband, through her various bush-walks in the Australian countryside. True to form, he is about 9 years older (or a third of a Saturn cycle). That she would have affinity with an older and more established man plays into her first god’s composition, a need for personal security and assurance.
The first Yod in Pamela’s chart with Neptune in the Fifth and Uranus in the Third sextiled inconjunct Venus in Aries in the Tenth and the opposing head in Fourth. She did have a very successful career as a nurse until she suffered an at-work accident, that was because of hospital negligence and then was relocated to an Administrative job but not until family members urged her to go forward and register a complaint. This Yod says as much about the negligence of the hospital as it does about her maternal care, which was also non-existent and would play heavily into her feeling of inadequacy and self-blame over the accident as the Moon, mother of us all, rules the Fourth House. That her family had to encourage Pamela’s complaint says that without outside support, she did not feel worthy to voice her troubles and needed moral and physical support.
It is the second Yod that deals with her question: what would be a good hobby? That’s always a good question, so we noticed that the second YOD starts at Jupiter in the First House to the Moon in the Tenth with its foot in Scorpio but its head somewhere around 16 Taurus right near her Mercury. That was striking because it is unfortunate the readers cannot hear Pamela’s beautiful melodic voice, and her laugh is entrancing – it is her most femininely beguiling trait, but alas she has no interest in singing or music though it seems she does come from a musical family.
Still, this second Yod gives her a strong creative spark that also includes good child bearing proclivity, but that she intellectually cut off (the Mercury apex). While she is aunty is many children, she has no interest in making knitting, crocheting or beading anything for them. Next, while the other things that comes to mind is photography and natural writing pairing the two into a photo travelogue. She liked that idea a lot and seems she has reams of photographs of her natural bush walking through four continents, many countries and lots of islands including Fiji where our header shot originates but her favorite places are the North Island of New Zealand and her native Oz.
We wish her the best. Her chart is not available for downloading.

Gian Carlo Cruz Michael Stanton was born in Los Angeles on November 9. 1989, the eldest of three children. He attended Verdugo Hills High School in Tujunga, California, for two years and then transferred to Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California, where he was a three-sport athlete playing baseball, wide receiver and cornerback for the gridiron football team, and basketball. With Saturn in Capricorn, he made the shrewd decision to go into baseball: it pays the best.
He was known as Mike Stanton, where he played for the Miami Marlins, now owned by Bruce Sherman and former New York Yankee, Derek Jeter, but has been traded to the Yankees.
http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/mlb/miami-marlins/article189168554.html
We rectified Stanton’s Ascendant to 09 Gemini which esotercist cum astrologer G. K. McClung gives the symbol of "a gray storm over a fen" in our rectified version and Mars is opposite his Moon giving him a proverbial bad temper which is also what we attribute his reversion back to his baptismal name: he is dissing his Marlin past and rewriting his future with Yankee pinstripes.
McClung goes onto write that this Hyperion symbol is representative of a "phenomenon", saying that can be conjured by the universe into possibility, shown by their keen "eye" , and with 59 Homers under his belt last season, we would have to agree. There can be no doubt that Stanton plans to make another run for magic 60 in the following season.
Another striking thing in Stanton’s chart is the Yod between Venus to Mars to his Ascendant in the First House (remember we use Morinus so our Ascendant is not tied to any particular house) giving him not only great charisma (Venus in Capricorn to Mars in its own Lord Scorpio) but also a strong need for others to acknowledge his individuality. This Yod could be problematic in relationships, as Stanton saw between him and the Marlins, and while we tend to think that media-centric New York, will love him, we do feel that Stanton needs to develop his own value and self-worth outside of the sporting arena for his peace of mind.
As they say on Broadway, Gian Carlo break a leg

Astrological Notes:
As the JFK Files are coming out on Thursday, this week we are set for Washington, DC. Jupiter is now direct in the Twelfth House suggesting a lot of ebullience in unearthing large government secrets. The Ascendant, we picked 8 am for the unveiling, also in Scorpio tells us that all the various myths, legends and suspicions are at stake and opposite Uranus in the Sixth this is a wild card that will be rather upsetting to the nation’s mental health. It is considered by E. C. Matthews and Dr. Gordon a “fateful degree” because of untoward speculations, hints of murder and cabals.
The only square that comes out of that opposition is at the Midheaven that is in LEO 16, close to President Trump’s Ascendant of Leo 20 – showing everyone that he has more cards up his sleeve than most imagine and he is willing to use them in startling ways. This conjunction also tells us that he has a lot of perseverance in his methods – he is like a lion stalking and waiting for the right moment. The conjunction hints that he enjoys the fray, the back and forth, and argument of whether or not they should be released, what they may say and ultimately what they hint at A lot of politicos made careers out of the lone gunmen controversy, most are dead or out of office like Senator Arlen Spector of Pennsylvania, Governor John Connolly, the whole Bush clan (George W was head of the CIA and junior, also a President, was an analyst there), the Dulles Brothers, President Gerald Ford, President LBJ of Texas, the whole Kennedy group and of course the Scotus jurist Earl Warren for whom it is named. This T-Cross makes it a dynamic and very pointed influence on the nation; a X Cross would have led to more confusion and diffusion of the effect and so is not present because this event does have a very dramatic effect on the country and perhaps world arena as well.
The Moon and Pluto are exact in the Second and suggests that this unveiling is karmic repayment because Pluto tells us what is done is done and in the house of Capricorn, it is like the Grim Reaper and shows the Cosmic Will at work and the need for spiritual cleansing for the country to move forward. Sydney Omarr felt that Pluto was the rejuvenating planet of the galaxy while Eileen McCaffery said it was a “transformative force.” Marc Jones put his two cents in and said that it was the “great search for Truth” and termed it “probity.” In this scenario all three astrologers agree – the changing of the old Guard, the Moon is in the crescent phase, will be very pivotal for the mental health of the nation.

This week we got Oregon for our weekly stop, or 2600 miles from Gulfport, Mississippi. For me, here in Buffalo, this takes on a rather amusing personal aspect, as my friend, Basketball Coach Mike Phelps, just arrived in Buffalo, from Portland traversing the country in the opposite direction.
Highlights from the Chart
Last week Oregon was the first state to announce free public abortions to anyone who comes: you do not have to be an Oregonian, just a visitor, to take advantage of this benefit. This shows up in the chart with the Basket Aspect, created from Jupiter (excess in the Tenth House of Governance) to Saturn (purging in the Eleventh popularity in the populace) to the Moon (women’s issues in the Second for the Treasury underwriting this bill ) to Uranus (pioneering in the Third House of communications).
Our Locomotive is now too dispersed from the Eighth to Third house and loses our trine, so now our Daily Chart has become a typical see-saw the two parts rather dispersed as the public, not only in Oregon but the Country at large questions this move. But it is not only the Oregonian beneficence that is problematic, it is also the White House’s munificence towards the Hurricane Victims of Puerto and the newly arrived Tax Code.
Many in the media feel that Trump has not done enough for the Commonwealth, forgetting that PR is not a state but a territory and when they voted on joining the Union the said No preferring to go it alone. Bloomberg has reported that Trump has done more than most past Presidents for Puerto Rico but a quick search shows that message is pretty much ignored because everyone always wants more from Uncle Sugar (Jupiter next to the Midheaven as the proxy of the President for the Country as mentioned previously). Unfortunately that Jupiter is opposite Uranus in the Third House, right on the Fourth House Cusp, suggesting that Americans as a whole are not as fond of handing out their largesse to everyone who asks but instead with a point focus of Ceres at the Descendant want some accountability for the bill.
Whoa…..that’s sounds like the Grinch doesn’t it? Possibly so, but on the personal level if you are getting hit by every telemarketer or non-profit for donations you may just understand the conundrum particularly as the USA still has Iris and Harvey to clean up from.
In the meantime, the Media with the Sun and Mercury in their Ninth Houses of Libra has some constructive squares in the Twelfth House of Welfare and the Seventh, other nations, so do not expect this drumbeat to go away fast — they may not want us policing the world but they surely want our Second house resources to take care of it. Honestly though, the press will waddle on complaining while the bottom or Northern Half of the Chart with few oppositions connecting it to public in the South above will basically just go about their business and enjoy the autumnal weather.
As the world turns, Joel Anthony in Buffalo

First let me start off with an apology for Monday’s note. It was gibberish but I have since rewritten it. Now onto today which I had lots of problems sending in. Thanks for your patience. See you on Friday in Cedar Rapids.
Pisces 13 degrees A sword in a museum. The symbol for today September 20, 2017 is A sword in a museum, the thirteenth degree of Pisces. It is conjunct currently to Neptune in our Des Moines chart in the fourth house. Ongoing concern remains with the natural disasters of the hurricane season with now three, Harvey, Irma and Maria. The Neptune and symbol conjunction forms a T-square opposite
Mercury(tenth house) and squared to the point focus of Saturn in the First house, as such Saturn becomes the focal determinator of the chart. It is indicative of the President’s speech to the UN General Assembly (tenth house) yesterday and a continuance of his ongoing message about American’s role to both the people of the United States and the World.
"I am a President who is entrusted with the security and well-being of America first and foremost and all the leaders present yesterday in New York should hold the same belief for their own countries.
The sword in a museum is a symbol of tradition. It is a call to leadership at a point in time of crisis. President Trump draws upon this historical necessity to clarify the present state of uncertainty that America wants to be all things to all men whether or not they are American. He is standing firm on his resolve that American goodies are for Americans and its supporters, not for world largesse. That is hard for many to take, but with approval soaring for his speech, it is one like the famous Circus sword swallower, that they have to accept….Stay tuned, this is just the bottom of the first of the Ultimate Fall Classic. #gallery-0-5 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-5 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-5 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-5 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */

We caught this one from the
o watch the devastation.
Pijjijapan is quite the tourist spot because of its proximity to Guatemala and is listed on AirBnB and there isn’t much more than the natural beauty and beaches to recommend it. It is a town of about 17,000 people.
An interesting comparison to Pijji and Sanriku, previously mentioned here, is that the Sanriku chart has a lot more Septiles, that according to Hellenistic Astrology was a fatalistic aspect, because they are only seven planets and so anything after that was considered literally off the charts or dangerous.
Why does Sanriku have more Septiles? it seems that the Japanese spot often has earthquakes, that the major 1933 quake was not it’s first, it was just one of its more potent. Sanriku also had a mickle earthquake in 1899 and another in the 40’s and that is why it is an unpopulated place.
Pijji without the septiles has more tourism and visitors because it OTOH is a more stable area, and hence far less septiles. Currently Neptune is in the Fourth House of American charts, and so we think there will be more quake activity in our hemisphere than in others.
