Chances are real good that either you, or someone you know, has an abandoned car sitting around collecting dust. Or maybe you have an old car that isn’t in the best of shape and you need some quick cash.

For example, a few months ago, my alternator went out in my pickup. I could have went down to the local NAPA store and bought a new one for $250. Or I could have went to a salvage and bought a used one for $60!

Of course, there are no warranties on the parts pulled off of used cars in a salvage. But sometimes people just don’t have the money to pay top dollar for auto parts!

You can get used parts for a fraction of what you’d pay in a auto parts store.

So you see, if you are sitting on an old car, they are more valuable to a salvage yard than they are to a scrap metal buyer! In some cases, the scrap metal buyer will turn around and sell it to the salvage yard. So they’re making a lot more money than what they gave you for the car.

What’s more, many salvage yards will come and get your car from you and pay you cash for your junk car! So the next time you’re thinking about leaving that old car sit out in the yard, rethink that decision. It could be worth several hundreds, if not thousands, of cash in your pocket!
