i'm just so...overwhelmed by how ON POINT everything was down to the damn music!! and i SWEAR as the episode went on the more pedro became joel. like...he legit looks like him. that's not pedro anymore. that's joel.

The room was still blanketed in warmth when Tim woke. He had grown accustomed to waking to the morning chill of the manor; pleasant and welcome to stave off the night sweat he would get from sleeping under the mountain of pillows and blankets Alfred piled on his bed, but when Tim roused from his sleep, he saw the fireplace still lit. The flames were dying down, spitting weakly among crumbling piles of firewood. Palming the sleep from his eyes, TIm yawned and stretched, glancing toward the windows to see Cassandra sitting in his desk chair.

Watching him.

Tim was hardly caught off guard, least surprised by her these days but the seize in his chest wasn't amiss by him. His hand reaching up to press flat on his sternum until it passed, inhaling a deep breath and exhaling slowly. Slipping off the chair, Cassandra pulled on the blanket around her shoulders and joined him on the bed by sitting at the foot of it. Her eyes rimmed dark with shadows, clearly she hasn't slept much herself.

"It's okay. You're safe." She signed to him.

"All thanks to you." He replied earnestly, reaching out to squeeze her hand lightly. "You didn't have to watch over me. Since we're home I'm more than safe."

Her smile faded into a deep frown, eyebrows pinching together and jaw set tight. Ah, there's that stubborness.

Tiredly Tim leaned back against the pillows and patted the spot beside him. "If you're going to be bodyguard then you still need your rest, okay? Come lay down."

There's a long pause, flicker of uncertain and relief danced in Cass' brown eyes before she nodded and crawled over to curl up at his side just as the last embers of the fire went out. In the dark now Tim blindly searched until he found her hand, winding their fingers together for another squeeze.

"What happened wasn't your fault. I was stupid and ran ahead without waiting for your signal." He let her hand go when she felt her thumb tap on his knuckle. "Not much we can do but learn from this and keep going."

From what I’m seeing so far, Rue is going to end this season completely alone and either in jail, overdosing, badly hurt because of Drug Lady Laurie, or dead.

Ugh of course we’re back with Nate and Maddy. 😒

As an ending side note, in the behind the episode the costume designer basically said the opening with Cal in the 90’s was a period piece and I died a little inside.
