Little fun fact about the botw games (and something that immensely disappointed me when i started reading english stuff): in the german and italian translations of the game, Bolsons name was changed to Landa and Cerada respectively. This meant that the syllable at the end of every name had to be „da“, thus making Zelda eligible to work for Bolson construction. This further meant that when Hudson talked about a priest whose name ended on „da“ so that he could get hitched, my mind immediately went to Zelda (leading to me missing the clue about the zoras).

That and only that was the reason for beating ganon the first time.

Iquique - protesta contra migrantes.

Hoy hubo una noticia sobre unas protestas contra inmigrantes en el norte de Chile (Iquique). En esa ciudad hay varios campamentos en los cuales viven inmigrantes. Han llegado a Chile a pesar de que la frontera esta cerada, y con sus pocos recursos no han podido llegar a Santiago, la capital donde hay mas oportunidades laborales. Por lo tanto, viven en la calle, sobreviviendo con ventas de dulces, y limpiando los vidrios de autos cuando se paran a los semaforos. Bueno,ayer se realizó la manfestacion y terminó con los pertenencias de unos inmigrantes venezolanos siendo quemados.

Fourth Tier

Fourth Tier demons are usually the ones who wreak havoc in the other worlds outside Hell/Hades.

Demon Familiars - Can be summoned to be in service to powerful witches/covens.

Demon Familiars (bestial) - Hellhounds, animal-like demons, or imps. Usually serve under higher demons, but if unbound they can be summoned to be in service to witches. 

Ceradaes - Considered to be the first kinds of demons. A species originally formed from the wills of Hades, Satan, and/or Lilith. Nowadays they are sparse, as they cannot breed within their own species. True Ceradaes are ancient.

They need to cannibalize and eat souls often.

Fifth Tier

Demonic essence - A bodiless consciousness formed in Hell. Demonic essences are basically like blackened souls, but instead of being souls that have been corrupted, they are souls created out of pure corruption and black magic.

In the beginning stages of their life, they start off very dumb and clueless, with their only intent being to find a mortal host and possess their body. Essences learn from the mind of the host, being able to dig through their memories and become as intelligent as them.

They are parasitic and will, over time, erode the sanity of the host as well as consume the host’s soul, which will allow them to take over the body.

They can retain the memories and skills they pick up from every host they possess, even adopting their host’s personality and habits.

Can also possess empty vessels as long as the corpse is fresh enough.

Demon essences are usually drawn to babies and young children.

Burning Spirits - The souls that have been sentence to burn in the pits of hell for eternity and have been in the fires so long that they can barely be called anything but spirits.

Nagyon izgalmas dolog néha kevésbé ismert terepen mozogni, és új dolgokat felfedezni. Ezúttal Dél-Amerika, egészen pontosan az Andok-hegység által uralt Chile zordságába szeretnélek elkalauzolni benneteket. Utazásunk során az idegenvezető szerepét a Wooden Veins nevű zenekar tölti be a nemrég megjelent In Finitude (Végesség – a szerk.) címre keresztelt első nagylemezének hathatós segítségével. És hogy milyen stílusban teszi ezt? Kérem szépen, doom elemekkel sűrűn átszőtt, avantgard metal köntösbe öltöztetett szerzemények felsorakoztatásával igyekszik a zenekar elrepíteni a hallgatóságot a már említett fenséges környezetbe. Ismerkedjünk is meg hamarjában a banda történetével, a lemez megalkotása során felhasznált ötletekkel, inspirációkkal, és persze magukkal a dalokkal.

„A csillagok fiai, a hold éneke vagyunk, az emberiség állati üvöltése…” – fogalmazza meg önmagát a zenekar, amely 2020-ban két korábbi doom metal banda, a Mourning Sun és a Mar Der Grises néhány volt tagjának kollaborációjaként látott napvilágot. Az új projekt megalakítása Eduardo Poblete billentyűs ötlete volt, aki – miután kilépett a Mourning Sun-ból – nem tétlenkedett sokáig, maga köré gyűjtötte Javier Cerda énekest, Juan Escobar gitárost/basszert, valamint a The Outside és a Tetractys soraiból ismert Albert Atalah dobost, és közösen megalapították a Wooden Veins-t.

2020. augusztusában az első kislemezzel párhuzamosan megjelent egy videoklip is, mely a The Veiled Curse című dalra készült. Mivel a dal széles körben kapott pozitív visszajelzéseket, és teljesen lenyűgözte a kritikusokat, a zenekar hozzálátott, hogy elkészítse a komplett nagylemezt. Az album anyagának tematikáját a Javier Cerada billentyűs által korábban megírt könyv, a Poética de Arturo H. Lobos ihlette, amely az életről és a halálról, illúziókról és impulzusokról, továbbá a lét egzisztenciális reflexióiről szól. Amint azt Juan Escobar, a zenekar gitárosa megfogalmazta:

“A lemez számos olyan lírai-, és zenei pillanatot tartalmaz, amely személyes élményeket tükröz vissza, de sokszor nagyon nehéz a felgyülemlett érzelmeket egy dalba összesűríteni. Az alkotói folyamat során számtalan olyan időszak volt az életünkben, melynek során értelmet nyert ez az utazás a hangok világában, velük eggyé válva, azok legtermészetesebb módon történő kifejezésével. Az In Finitude rendkívül fontos része az életünknek – egy út, melyen elindultunk, és amely emberként határoz meg bennünket.“

Amikor összefutok valahol az avantgard metal kifejezéssel, azonnal egyik kedvenc zenekarom, az Arcturus által megírt fantasztikus dallamok kezdenek duruzsolni a fülemben. A Wooden Veins azonban máshonnan közelít a stílus felé, amint azt a cikk elején már említettem, az anyazenekarokból átörökített doom elemek erősen dominálnak a lemezen. Mindezek fényében mondhatnám azt, hogy az album ilyen szempontból csalódás, ám ha tárgyilagosan tekintek a műre, akkor mindjárt változik a helyzet.

Elkezdődik az első dal, hátra dőlsz, lehunyod a szemed, és máris egy olyan világba csöppensz, ahol mindig lemenőben van a nap, és csupán az emberek elvékonyodott árnyéka (Thin Shades) mutat a horizont mögé igyekvő, vörösen izzó korong felé. Miután átveszi az uralmat a szürkeség, már csak a szavakon túli (Beyond Words) érzelmek hatnak rád, melyek a nappali világosságot követő sötétség beköszöntével türelmetlen és izgatott hangorgiaként zúdulnak rád jófajta black metalos száguldás formájában.

A Herradura (by the sea) minden bizonnyal nem a méltán híres tequila fajtát hivatott tovább népszerűsíteni, sokkal inkább valószínű, hogy a spanyolországi Granadánál található tengerpart szakasz, illetve az ott tartózkodáskor felszínre tört érzéseket tolmácsolja ez a melankolikus szerzemény. A Délibábok (Mirages) vizionálásához tökéletes társ a soron következő dal, mely a maga szűk nyolc és fél percével egyúttal a lemez leghosszabb tétele. Az egész dalt végigkíséri az a furcsa lebegés, amelyet ez a csodás természeti jelenség képez a szemünk előtt, és ebben a tételben hallhatjuk a lemez egyik legjobb, legsodróbb gitár-, és dobjátékát egyaránt.

Úgy gondolom, ennyi részlet kiemelése bőségesen elég ahhoz, hogy irányt mutasson a hallgatóságnak a lemez egészét illetően. Minden dal egy külön hangokba öntött élmény-, és érzelemhalmaz kivetülése, melyek rendkívül hatásos módon interpretálják a zenészek mondanivalóját. Az album odafigyelést, nyugodt körülményeket és zenei finomságokra érzékeny hallójáratokat igényel. Minden tétel tartalmaz valamilyen titkot, valamilyen meglepetést. Az csupán rajtad múlik, hogy megnyílsz-e előttük, és átadod-e magad a dallamok által kiváltott érzelmeknek. Az In Finitude a chilei együttes mélyen őszinte és személyes debütálása.
