Choices Pride Month

In celebration of Pride Month, CFWC is delighted to host Pride Bingo.

The event will run from June 1st through June 30th. Two lucky winners will win a fanart commission from the lovely and talented @rosefuckinggenius.

The first winner will receive a 2-person, half-body flat color sketch, and thanks to Rose's generosity, there will be a second prize of a 1-person, full-body flat color sketch, as well! The winners will be selected at random and announced on Saturday, July 1st.

Event Rules & Guidelines:

Write fics based on the bingo card categories.

If you write one fic, you get one chance at winning a prize.

If you write more than one fic and get "Bingo" - three in a row vertically, horizontally, or diagonally - you will get three chances to win a prize. (3 chances max per person).

Each fic can only be assigned to one category... so a fic about selecting an outfit to wear to the Pride parade could be in the Pride Parade or Fashion categories, but not both.

Fics must be about Pixelberry Choices LGBTQ+ pairings or characters (canon of fanon).

Fics must be a minimum of 750 words to be prize eligible. (Shorter fics will be shared and included on the event masterlist, but will not be prize eligible).

Only submitted fics are eligible for a prize. @choicesficwriterscreations must be tagged and use the tag #cfwc pride bingo. (Fics found in main tags that meet event criteria will be shared and included on the event masterlist, but they will not be prize eligible.)

Fics can be cross-listed with other fandom Pride events; in fact, we encourage you to do so. Please see a list of other fandom events below.

NSFW and mature-themed fics will be accepted, but they must be rated Mature or Explicit, and any trigger warnings should be noted.

The fic writer must be following @choicesficwriterscreations to be eligible for the prize.

While anyone can participate in the event, creators who have won an art commission from a CFWC contest in the last 6 months and CFWC mods/admins are not eligible for the prize.

About the categories:

The story must focus on characters that are part of the LGBTQ+ community.

We have purposely left the categories broad to encourage participation. Here are some suggestions if you need them.

Pride Parade: planning or attending a pride parade; memories of a past parade; upset that they have to miss the parade because they're sick/have to work; planning their outfit for the parade - pride parade related.

Fashion/Trends: talk about your character's style; trends in the community they like - or dislike; planning a special outfit for pride; ways they express themselves through fashion/trends, etc.

First Date/Kiss: their first-ever; their first with a new person; planning on asking someone out for a first date; talking about a disastrous first date; returning home from their very last first date, because this is the one, etc.

History: We all know about Stonewall (and if you don't, we can send you links!), but this is not limited to any one event, person, or nation. Literally anything about LGBTQ+ history will be accepted.

Coming Out... or not: Why do we include "or not"? Because not everyone believes you have to come out (do straight people make an announcement?). If your character did come out, tell us their story; if they didn't, tell us why. A fic about multiple characters discussing their thoughts on this issue. If a character didn't come out - how did people react when they learned? Anything about coming out... or not.

Gender Identity: What was your character's earliest memory of struggling with their identity; how did people in their lives react; do people respect their choices/pronouns, etc.; tell us a story about how they are now happily living the life they were meant to live, etc.

Family: Was their family accepting or not? Tell us about their found family. How do they create their own family, traditional or otherwise? Proposals, weddings, babies, moving in together, raising kids/pets, divorcing/breaking up, adding someone to (or someone leaving) the polycule. Anything related to family life.

Music & Art: Can be incorporated in any way. An LGBTQ+ artist that inspired them; how the character expresses themselves through music/art; dancing at a club; drag performances; hosting an exhibit of LGBTQ+ artists, you name it.

SPECIAL EVENT: April 16 - 29, 2023 Extended through May 4th!

Please join CFWC in an event that highlights some of the closest and most complex bonds we'll ever know - our girlfriends!

Rules:

This event is to highlight women's friendships and sisterhood. Your stories can include friends of any gender, but the focal point must be on the ladies.

Characters can be from any Pixelberry Choices story.

The friendship can be from canon but doesn't have to be.

The prompts provided are suggestions, but any fic with the focal point on women's friendship will be accepted.

While CFWC is now accepting text fics and edits, this contest is limited to fanfics of 500 words or more.

You must tag @choicesficwriterscreations on your post, and you must use the tag #cfwc you go girls

Prize Eligibility:

A raffle for one commission by @/artbyainna will be drawn on Sunday, April 30, 2023. To be included in the raffle, you must:

Submit a fic that meets the rules of the contest, including using proper tags

LET'S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS

HELLO, CHOICES FANDOM!

We're happy to announce the first of our two upcoming events.

Let's Hear it for the Boys is a two-week event where we encourage our talented creators to submit their fanfics that celebrate the friendships of the guys of Choices!

We will be hosting a" For the Girls" and "Friends Forever" event in future months. But this time, it's the guys' turn to shine!

The event will run from September 11, 2022 - September 24, 2022 October 1, 2022

All participants will be placed in a raffle for a fanart from the lovely and talented @bayleedrawsx ! The winner will be selected via a spin of the wheel on Sunday, September 25th. October 2, 2022.

Rules:

While the event is focused on the guys, you can have any gender friends included in the group. However, at least one main character must be male.

Your characters can be from any Choices story.

The friendship can be from canon, but it doesn't have to be.

There are no prompts, and this can be any type of fiction, but the focal point must be friendship.

CFWC Event Please Be Prompt!

What is it?

We here at CFWC miss the weekly prompts from Wackydrabbles, and we’d like to see if we’re not alone. To find out, we are sponsoring this three-week event. Each Sunday morning, beginning on Sunday, July 17th, we will post three prompts…a fluffy, angsty, and smutty one…to help inspire you. 

Here’s your job!

Write a fic! Use one, two, or all three prompts. Just have fun and be creative! Submit your fic by the end of each week, and we’ll include it on our Fics of the Week List, a special masterlist at the end of the event, plus…there’s more!

Why are we doing this?

Mostly because we miss the prompts!  But also, we’re throwing in a giveaway! One lucky winner will win an art commission from the talented @bayleedrawsx

What are the rules?   

To be in the drawing, write and submit a Choices fanfic using one or more of the weekly prompts.  It can be a drabble, an epic masterpiece, or anything in between. 

You will receive one chance for each week in which you participate. If you participate for two weeks, you get two chances.  Three weeks, three chances.  It’s easy as that! 

Please be sure to tag @choicesficwriterscreations, and use the #please be prompt tag.    Also, bold the prompt in your fic to make it easy for us to find it. 

How do you win?

On August 7th, a winner will be randomly selected by a spin of the wheel.  Entrant's names will appear on the wheel once for each week they participated in the Please Be Prompt challenge.  (Max of 3 entries per person.)  The deadline for all submissions is 11:59 PM EST on Saturday, August 6, 2022.

FAQs:

Do I have to use all three prompts? No, you can use one, two, or all three in your work.  However, there is only one entry, per person, per week for the contest, regardless of how many prompts are used.

Can I use a fluffy prompt to write an angsty fic? Or an angsty prompt to write a smutty fic, etc.? Sure.  If you think the prompt fits better in a different style of fic - go for it! 

Can I change the prompt? In most cases, we will ask you to keep it exactly as is.  If you have questions about a change, please contact @jerzwriter or @lucy268-mod. 

Can I submit more than one fic for the Please Be Prompt challenge in any given week? Yes, but you will only receive one chance for the contest per week.

If I submit three fics during the last week, will I get three chances? No.  You will be given one chance.  It’s one chance per week participated.

Can I use a prompt published on July 17th during one of the following two weeks? Sure! We recommend using them within the same week, but all will be accepted toward the event until the deadline on Saturday, August 6th at 11:59 PM EST.

I submitted a fic for another event (Sunday Six, Fics of the Week, Throwback Thursday), but I did not use one of the prompts.  Will I get a chance for the giveaway? No.  In order to obtain a chance for the giveaway, you must use one of the tags in your fic.

CFWC Holiday Celebration 2021

The holiday season is upon us and CFWC wants to show our love and appreciation to all the amazing writers who help make the Choices fandom a magical place all year long!

From Sunday, November 29 through Saturday, December 18, any new holiday fanfic submitted will be entered in a raffle to win a fanart commission from the talented artist, @vantaray.

To be eligible, you must follow these rules:

Fic must be a new Choices fanfic posted for the first time during the contest dates.

It can be about any holiday, but it must be related to a holiday to be eligible.

Mention @choicesficwriterscreations in your post

Use the tag #cfwc holiday celebration

All CFWC Rules (here) must be adhered to

You will be awarded one chance for each week in which you submit a holiday fic. (Max. 3 chances per writer).

A winner will be chosen at random on Sunday, December 19th.

All holiday fics submitted will appear on our Fics of the Week list, as well as on a special Holiday Masterlist at the completion of the event.
