cw: substance abuse [ orphan / rough childhood, spent a lot of time fending for himself in foster homes until he was finally adopted by an older couple / he’s appreciative that he has a family now, but there’s a lot of trauma that he hasn’t undone and it’s catching up to him / def was a troublemaker in school, started playing sports as a distraction / hockey was a good release for a lot of the anger he had / has a very hard time seeing things in a positive light, can dwell a lot on his shortcomings / an excellent hockey player with a lot of wasted potential / is terrified that he won’t end up where he wants to be but has been doing nothing to get there / a high school injury got him hooked on painkillers... def an issue but he won’t admit it / very immature! a “i’ll worry about that later” mindset / lives in the moment and dreads the future ]
