"Mr. Barnes? I was wondering if it'd be alright with you if I took your son out on a date?" Y/N tried not to squeak as he looked at the older man in front of him as he trained his icy blue eyes on him. It was no secret that James Buchanan Barnes was very protective of his son. Never putting him in harm's way or a harmful situation. You might think Javi was sheltered and introverted, but in truth, he was very outgoing.

"And why are you asking my permission? Most kids do whatever they want, right?" He raised his eyebrows.

Y/N nods. "That's correct, sir, but I wanted to check with you first. See how you feel about it."

"And if I say no?"

"Then I'll respect your decision. I'll be devastated, but I'll respect your rules. And maybe try and convince you I'm worthy of your son."

"Really? Well, what would you do to convince me?" Bucky asked.

"Whatever you asked. I'll do it."

Bucky smiled. "Is that right? Well, I have some ideas. Come with me." He walks towards the upstairs and Y/N followed him.

"So, my mom and dad want to meet my novio and have invited you over for dinner tonight." Javi said when they were outside training. They had been locked in a swords match when Javi sprang the news on him. Y/N was so surprised that Javi was able to push him against the stone statue of the Dinohedge.

"What? You're serious?" Y/N asked.

"Yeah. I mean they'll already met Fern and they want to meet you too. What do you say?"

"I'd say... I can handle monsters and Void Knight's constant attacks, but dinner with your parents is going to be the scariest thing that I've ever done."

"Ah, come on. They'll love you. Please?" Javi begged like a puppy and Y/N chuckles. "Okay. Okay. I'll go. But you're making me your famous hot chocolate if things go south." Y/N said.
