Here I am starting a big project for a juried art exhibition. I have not been doing my own art lately, because I have been really busy this end of the school year, with physical therapy, kids end of school stuff, teaching, home stuff and my own projects. Trying to hands-free Valois this morning for breakfast after running some early errands and ran into several roadblocks until I decided to go with "call Val-Wah"!!! .. immediately recognized lol. Apparently, we mess up the name so regularly it's become commonplace. I learned this only after a friend asked about the correct pronunciation of the name to which they confirmed that was actually how you say it. I have a hard time deciding which medium to use, or which subject matter to paint. But why do I need to choose. I love abstract and landscapes. I love representational and non-representational. What I really love, is to be be able to play with materials, to express myself through color and brushstrokes. It maybe abstract, it maybe a landscape, it may even be an abstract landscape.
