Can I say both? Lol, I am a coffee addict, but I live on southern iced tea. It's best of both world, but if we are talking like...which is best? Shit...gonna have to say coffee.

Java chip Frappuccino with coffee base, almond milk and shot of expresso, extra choco chips. If it's fall, I sometimes go with a Pumpkin spice, but if it's just that kind of day? Iced Cinnamon Dolce with extra cream and sugar <3 Will order a blueberry scone or two as well

Delightful Weekend Brunch at Figaro Coffee

We were looking for a place to grab an early brunch as we had just finished some morning chores for the weekend. I wanted to have a big breakfast but my husband was also craving for some cakes and cold beverages. Thankfully, there’s a cafe that serves all of these with a branch that is just a few minutes away from our place, Figaro Coffee.

The mall had just opened but we were ready to enjoy a delightful weekend brunch at Figaro Coffee. With branches scattered all over the Philippines, it’s quite easy to find a cafe nearby. We headed up to the fifth level of Shangri-La Plaza Mall in Mandaluyong where Figaro Coffee had its cafe overlooking the central lobby.

Figaro Coffee Company is a premier full-service coffee chain whose menu also includes sandwiches, pastas, set meals, as well a selection of freshly-baked muffins, cakes and pastries. Founded in 1993, Figaro is considered as the country’s number one Filipino cafe which started even before the big international coffee chains arrived here.

Figaro has always been known for its freshly brewed coffee, but it’s really “a cafe above the rest” because it is so much more than just a coffee shop. I can enjoy a full savoury meal at Figaro complete with beverages, pastries, and desserts any time of the day.

My husband wanted his ice-cold frappes right away so he ordered the Choco Chips Java (P195-L). I wanted something a bit lighter on the calories so I chose one of their refreshing juices, the Green Earth Detox (P185-L) with its healthy combination of kale, spinach, red grapes.

There are always plenty of enticing pastries on display at Figaro to start your day. These include the Black Forest Ensaymada plus other cookies and breads.

My favorite at Figaro is their Heavenly Cheese Roll (P75). These light and fluffy cheeserolls are similar to a sweet ensaymada but with a softer texture. Figaro heats up these cheees rolls for those who want to have them for dine-in.

Figaro has several pasta and sandwich options, but you can get the best of both worlds with their Half Sandwich + Half Pasta (P275) combo meal. The pasta flavors include Arrabiata, Pasta a la Carlo, Garden Herb Pesto, and my choice which is the Chicken Mushroom Carbonara. This is a creamy and savory white sauce pasta with chicken chunks, shiitake mushrooms and parmesan cheese.

For your sandwich options, choose from Grilled Ham & Cheese, Chicken Waldorf, Gourmet Tuna, and the Grilled Chicken Pesto Focaccia Sandwich which has grilled chicken fillet with bell peppers, pesto spread, and grated cheese inside a multigrain bread. You can also add P60 for a small drink.

What we really love at Figaro are their delicious and savory All Day Meals. The Sukiyaki Beef Tapa (P260) comes with classic and traditionally marinated beef tapa served with garlic fried rice, fried egg, and side salad.

Another breakfast dish that is good to have the entire day is the Smoked Bangus Belly (P290) with its deboned premium cut smoked milkfish belly that is also served with garlic fried rice, fried egg, and side salad.

For my husband who wanted to have a big lunch, he ordered the Crispy Liempo with Laing (P300). This is Figaro’s signature crispy pinoy liempo and taro leaves cooked in a special coconut milk. It is served with side salad and garlic fried rice to complete the meal.

For dessert, we were thinking of trying Figaro’s newest tropical treat, the Pina Colada Cake, but there were many other tempting cakes on display. Figaro offers a Pasta and Drink Combo (P190) which includes any medium hot or iced drink and a pastry or a slice of cake (+P39). So we decided to get a slice of Grand Xocolat Gateau Cake (P125) plus a cup of Hot Chocolate (P150) to go.

Kuroo

-Kuroo was your crush back in gradeschool -He liked you too -While the two of you never confessed to one another, it was somewhat of an open secret that you both liked each other -After all, you were both too young to act on it -You were busy with maintaining your good grades and Kuroo was starting to get into volleyball -Anyways -Your family had to move from Tokyo before middle school -And you lost contact with Kuroo for years -Until one fateful day, while you were waiting for your study partner in the university’s library -And someone takes a seat across you -Messy raven hair, sly smile, handsome features -It was Kuroo Tetsuro, your childhood crush! -You were amazed at how you found each other again after many years -And you reconnected so easily -That day, your study partner did not show up and Kuroo volunteered to tutor you instead -And offered to do so for the next weekend, and the next -Until it became a regular occurence for six weeks -You passed the semester with fying colors -So you invited Kuroo to celebrate with you

"I don’t really drink,” Kuroo says as he sips from his can of Coke. “And between the two of us, one needs to be sober to drive.” You’re both in the nightclub closest to the university and the place is packed with students who were also celebrating the end of the term.

You smile giddily at Kuroo, the alcohol already slowly making its way to your system. “I didn’t know you’re such a party pooper, Tetsuro.”

He only makes a face at you, urging you to crack up and stand from your seat, doing your “happy” dance, twirling around and jiving to the music. “Loosen up! Enjoy!”

“For someone who acts demure most of the time, I didn’t know you had this side to you, Y/N.”

You smile and wink at him. “Well, do you like this version of me?”

Kuroo sends you a grin. “Of course.” A dreamy look passes across his face. “You remind me of my girlfriend.”

Coffee, water, soup, or whatever hangover concoctions be damned. Kuroo’s statement is enough to drain the alcohol from your system. “What?”

“You’re exactly the same as G/F/N. Shy and timid most of the time but lets everything loose once intoxicated.” He must see the expression on your face for he follows up his sentence with, “Y/N, are you okay?”

You nod, trying not to cry in front of him. You remind yourself that you have to save your tears for later, somewhere where he won’t see. “O-of course!” You hiccup. “Why would I not be okay?”

Before Kuroo can even relax a bit, you continue speaking. “I mean, I just thought that our study sessions for the past six weeks meant something. You spending a lot of time, being so patient in teaching me, bringing me a cup of my favorite Choco Java Chip, and all the other shit that you did. I just assumed they meant something. But guess what? Of course you have a girlfriend!”

Kuroo’s eyes widen and before you know it, he’s dragging you out of the club. Once you’re in the alley, he begins to speak. “I’m sorry, Y/N. I didn’t mean to lead you on.”

You scoff in response, making him wince. He thinks back to the past weeks and curses at himself at how easily his actions could have been misinterpreted. “Look, I’m really sorry. I do have a girlfriend, she’s currently in Korea for a student exhange program. I’m sorry if I misled you.”

He sounds so sincere that you even feel shitty for putting him in an awkward situation. You look upward to try to control your tears and take a deep breath before facing Kuroo. “I’m trying to think of a way to end this night in a way where we’ll still be friends,” you say, “But I can’t think of any. I don’t think it’s possible.”

Kuroo shakes his head. “I’m really sorry, Y/N. Let me drive you home.”

You put your hands up in defense. “Nope. This is step number one: we stay away from each other.”

And as you walk out of the club and hail a cab, you badly wish for him to follow you. But he doesn’t. So you sit in the backseat and wipe your tears as the taxi pulls away. After all, Kuroo has a girlfriend and no matter how much you remind him of her, his heart will always belong to her.

i wish you luck on the rest of your exams! that is such a mood, i wish i can never use my brain ever again for the purpose of exams. but please do get some rest as well!

i finished like, two overdue tasks by 4 am? couldn't sleep so i was awake til 7, when i did fall asleep, about an hour and a half later my friend was ringing up my phone to let me know that our exam would only be available/accepted from 8am to 11am, so 😗✌ i honestly have no idea how i couldve possibly done, but ill probably end up ranting on here if i didnt do well or if i did. im actually looking forward to finishing most of my overdue stuff today, just need to take a nap to recover though; also working on the next chapter for sayitback in between tasks just to wind down(?).

ive actually only gone to starbucks about twice? my hometown is about 40km away from the nearest starbucks and the city my college was in did have two branches but i never really had the time to go, plus i heavily disliked the amount of people inside all the time whenever i did i pass by. as for favorite drink the same two times i went to Starbucks, i got their strawberry frappe! (because i am a sucker for both frappe and strawberry flavored anything)

OH BUT T E A, you hate the taste of coffee? :O it's what i drink constantly both in college and at home. the caffeine addiction is off the charts for me lmao. i make/order my coffee pretty sweet though! but anyway that drink sounds so good, actually! i might try it when i get back to college when face to face education is a thing again.
