hunter and their older sibling were taken from their home when they were 5 years old. they weren't quite sure what was happening or the situation they were in, just that they were going to live in a new place with their sibling. for 5 years hunter and their sibling bounced from different foster homes until they were separated by the time hunter was 10 years old. they hadn't seen them since then.

winding up alone in the system, hunter had to quickly develop a hard exterior as they no longer had their older sibling to help defend them. it was during this time that hunter began to get into a lot of fights, making them a defiant child. with all the uncertainty of their every day life, hunter had never felt more confused or alone in their life and resorted to fighting and rebellion to consolidate their feelings. many homes refused to take them in or wound up trying to find other placements for them since they didn't get along with other children in the house.

they aged out of the system at 18 and had barely graduated college so when they got out they traveled to many different places. it was years before hunter ended up in denver, colorado on a whim after hearing about an open position at the tattoo parlor. though they came in with a hard exterior they made friends with bowie and slowly opened up to the few people in that circle.

they're still a very secluded and secretive person, trying to gain their footing and they don't trust easily. they still have the habit of getting into fights as they're quick to escalate a problem. but when they do find the few people able to crack their shell, they're fiercly loyal. though they'll still give their friends shit.

it felt like a bit of a long practice. but that could possibly be due to hunter's own attitude that day. it just was one of those times you wake up on the wrong side of the bed. though it seemed it happened to hunter more often than not. but of course as usual, hunter had ripley to back them up and it made those moments a little less unsufferable.

"feel like i kinda owe you a beer or something." they said as they walked into the other's studio behind them. they could've gone to their own apartment but hunter had a feeling the other wanted to show them their place. "remind me next time we go out." they said as they found themselves a place to sit in the room.

whatever it was about this afternoon, it had hunter feeling in the mood to grab something cold to eat. a sandwich wouldn't do it just yet. and they didn't feel like dealing with ice cream melting over in a cup or a cone. so hunter deduced they'd rather grab a smoothie. though it seemed like that was the thought of most people in the area. not a big shock but still slightly annoying.

as they stood in line, they looked to the person who was in front of them. tapping their shoulder lightly they leaned forward a bit to ask a question. "has it been like this for a long time? cause if it's gonna take a while i don't know. i might just go somewhere else."

hunter rounded the corner of their hall to go to their kitchen. they were looking for something to feed themselves and gio. it was pretty typical for hunter and some of the bandmates to hang out after a day of practice. and though they wouldn't say it aloud, hunter enjoyed having another older presence around again.

"what do you want to eat?" they asked as they opened their fridge. they had a few beers inside, some sodas. bits and pieces of items to piece together a sandwich if wanted. though there may be more food in the pantry they could take. though it technically belonged to their roommate. "there's not a lot in here. but..." they walked over to the cabinet to look for the chips. "jackpot."

it was on hunter's lunch break that they found themselves walking the streets of this side of town. looking for something, really anything that sounded good to them. it'd been a pretty dry day outside and the bit of heat didn't help much. and it seemed like their day would only take a nosedive from there as they spotted sage walking down the same street. it was a simple one night stand they had but that morning after, hunter had snuck out. these things were always awkward.

hunter nodded a head at sage as they walked nearer. part of them intending to just keep walking but not exactly wanting to make the other feel worse. "hey, what's up?"

the night's vibes were perfect. at least as perfect as they could get for hunter. they had no annoying clients that day and it didn't take waiting behind a line of patrons before they could order their drink. so hunter counted that as win. they looked over noticing a familiar face in the crowd. hunter isn't sure they'd call the other a friend. though to be fair, they wouldn't call anyone but a handful of people friends. but they didn't mind drinking with the other when they saw them.

"hey, zeke." hunter said as they raised their glass in hand to the other to grab their attention. "what's up? i didn't know you'd be here tonight." they walked over to where zeke was before taking a sip from their glass. "how long you been here?"

hunter had very clearly just been thrown out with another person by the employers. unsurprising, hunter found themself in another argument. this particular event possibly enhanced by hunter's tipsy state. though they were well on their way to getting drunk when the other had bumped into them and spilled their very expensive drink on their shirt. the drinks cost enough as it is, but having one go to waste was an easy switch to flip hunter.

"really?" hunter challenged the employer though they were carelessly heading back inside. "she spills on my shirt and you kick me out too? total bullshit!" she shouted before looking at the other girl that'd been thrown out with her. "and who the hell do you think you are?" they asked as they approached her, immediately walking over to push her.
