Cinestill 400 D

It has been quite a while since I tried a "new" film. Cinestill 400 D was maturing in the fridge until recently, when I loaded one roll into my Yashica TLR for a trip to Copenhagen.

Undoubtedly, the film shows its kinship with the other Cinestill films. Colours are warm, vivid but not exagerated, generally pleasing for a variety of subjects and scenes including skin tones and plants/flowers.

At least in medium format size, sharpness and grain of the pictures is nothing to worry about.

All in all, this film produced pleasing results, the look is very much non-digital, a bit retro. Films have become expensive though, and you have to decide for yourself, whether you are willing to spend nearly as much as for a Kodak Portra 400.
